Landon subsided reluctantly, realizing that if he explained himself further, they all might get in trouble for leaving school even on lunch break. It was one of those rare occasions when the West Coast State had absolutely nothing to say. Not liking having to be silent, he instantly set about formulating a joke for classes later. He had every intention of getting back to his more enjoyable classes today, regardless of whatever punishment he had to face along the way. Perhaps something referring to the so-called ‘right to be silent’?

Landon had a blunt and ready answer for that: As arrogant, independent states—and a nation—they hadn’t expected to need help in defeating the gangsters. Heck, none of them had even expected the gangsters to show up! But that wouldn’t be a safe thing to say, especially since he was planning on suggesting that Christian include an article on the whole escapade later.

It's found in a drawer in the computer desks in all the dorms. The school directories listed every students’ phone numbers as well as the staff’s? Stalker time! Landon thought, smirking at the idea of prank-calling every last student he didn’t know.
The grin fell off his face when Rutilio elbowed him intentionally in the ribs. The West Coast state blinked and hastily replaced his amused smirk with a serious military look. “Yes, bro! Yes, sir!” he said, snapping off a military salute. At the same time, he was wondering when the ball would drop and all three of them would get administrative treatment

Was he going to dole out the punishment now? California didn’t know, so he stuck around, waiting to hear what he would miss with his sentence.

He had to bite his lip in order to maintain a somewhat straight face. Rutilio also turned his attention to Germany and knew whatever he had to say wouldn't be fun, but he couldn't stop grinning. At least they weren't getting expelled! That would certainly be hard to explain to his boss... ... Actually, no. His boss was probably going to be less surprised that he hadn't been expelled yet.
