Dariya hadn't really been angry before. But NOW he was. How in the world could anyone think he was a GHOUL?! All right, so perhaps he was pretty, and wearing something that looked more or less like a dress. But it was what everyone back home wore. Granted, everyone else back home was a ghoul. But he was most decidedly NOT! Thus, why he should be treated as a prince. Because he was rare and special. Not just some ghoul.

Leaning down closer to the other, he made a hissing sort of noise between his teeth and those black on black eyes glared at Kala. "I am not. A ghoul," he intoned, fury very obviously just barely held in check. There had been some rule he vaguely recalled about not fighting at this festival. Otherwise, he might have already punched the other in the nose for his insolence.

Kala blinked as the boil got closer, his golden eyes flashing a momentary red in shock, before returning to glow their normal hue. The veins stood out a little further, however, as though preparing, just in case. Not a ghoul? Oh...Well..."Oh....Boil...not ghoul..." This thought seemed to roll itself around in Kala's mind, twisting and working its way in between the cracks and crevaces (of which there were likely many, seeing as how spacey this child could be). Then....There was a switch.

Awe lit the Dream Catcher's face and he stared in amazement, "...Must be very special. Very very very." He'd seen a lot of other boils around, but none that looked as pretty, and...well....what was that big word again? Ether,,,something or other. It must have meant something special. This boil must have been too, if he wasn't a ghoul, but still looked like that (keeping in mind that Kala's thought process was rather odd), "So very special, yes, Dariya."

Upon the other's next words, Dariya blinked slightly and frowned, as if trying to figure out if Kala was sincere or not. Then he nodded once and withdrew, a faint smile spreading over his features now as he quite literally preened. That was all right, then. The boil simply hadn't realized that he was not one of the common females.

And now that he had, it seemed he was showing proper respect. Or at least trying to. "Much better," the Wila practically purred. Then he tilted head a bit and offered a hand to help the other up.

The first reaction was to stare at that hand. What was much better? It made no sense, really, and neither did this boil, but that was, as he thought it, okay. The hand offereing, Kala decided, must mean that he had a new companion, and so, taking the other's hand in his, he stood, grinning, "Better." Then, his head turned to look onwards, messy hair falling about his face as he tried to figure out where to go from here.

"Dariya, be careful. Lots of glitter." Jack be damned for the glitter, cute, and kittens.

Anxious Spirit

"We are Vero," the little cloaked spirit announced, its antennae twitching as three of the second group introduced themselves. "And if this is a ride, we did not see the cart. Nor is it very well regulated . . ." One of the aggregates within it was clearly unimpressed - and yet at the same time ready to s**t itself with fear.

"Faint and Art are odd names; Damien is regular. Do you faint often?" it asked the weretiger, and then immediately turned to the demon to ask him, "And are you skilled with the pen or brush?" As if it needed justification for such names.

It could not derive anything yet from Damien's name at face value, hence why the demon dog was being left out of the interrogation. However, it did have a comment for him: "Would you like to be shaved? It would be easiest to get the glitter off."

Easiest. Fastest. Most efficient. Everything Vero strove for.

It wasn't sure if the vampire could be as easily shaven, but . . . a suggestion was a suggestion.

Dariya gripped the other's hand and helped him up, then, with a small nod. "Indeed ... I noticed it in the entryway. What is the purpose of this place, anyway? Or is it simply a maze for those at the festival to explore?"

Really, he was rather confused as to the point of a "Haunted House". If it was supposed to be haunted, where were the scary things inside of this place?

"Horrible, horrible place." This said without any ounce of lilt to it. Kala's voice had become flat, and his expression was the same, an unamused, irritated expression, echoed by the traces of red that began to coil in the mist about the boy, "Laughs and glitter, kittens and bad pictures. Is what Kala has seen so far." Disgust tainted his voice, and he shuddered. The pictures he could handle. Jack, even the kittens weren't so bad. It was mostly the glitter.

"Is like a maze. Guessing." Deciding he'd rather not let go of Dariya's hand, he looked up at him, "Want to go onwards?"

Dariya glanced down at their still-joined hands with a faint questioning expression ... but he didn't pull his hand away. He simply did not understand why Kala would want to hold onto him. Kittens and bad pictures really didn't sound like much fun, though.

"Indeed, let us move on. Perhaps the purpose of this endeavor will become clearer in time ..." he murmured, starting off walking down the hall again.

[ Stairway ]
It seemed like Van would have to keep going without the water demon and the hippogryph; he'd see them if they decided to climb the stairs as well. As it was, Van was concerned with making progress. He wanted to get back to where he had left off before the... pit of cuteness and kisses. Van shuddered as he walked, taking steps two at a time.

Eventually, he made it to where the stairs (he figured) had collapsed before. Did he want to try again? Would they just fall out from under him? His hand curled into a fist and he leaned it against his cheek. As he considered whether or not he wanted to risk the colourful pit, his tail whipped back and forth, its metal point slicing through the air.

He wanted to be done. So, so bad. Unfortunately, he had a feeling that Damien was correct, and they would be stuck in this hell hole for an eternity. It made him so unhappy to think about. What if he was always covered in glitter? And what if these pink walls burned holes in his eyes? It all seemed so possible with the way things were turning out.

Not only would they be stuck here forever, but their group was steadily increasing. As some point they’d be stumbling over top of each other to get away from the horrors that hid behind every corner. As the group increased again, he grunted and crossed his arms over his chest, eying spirit that joined them and questioned him while flicking delicious looking antennae. Why was his name Faint? “No. I was named for my skin. My stripes at the lightest of all my siblings.” It seemed silly when he said it out loud, but it was true. They didn’t really discuss names in his family a lot. Shade was just Shade, Forest was just Forest, and Kitty was just Kitty. They all had their reasons, but it didn’t matter much in day to day occurrences. Not that Faint thought, at least. His name was his name.

Shaved Demi. That was a good distraction. It made him break out in a chuckle again.

It was like a giant sticky ball, this group.

It just has to pick up everything it came across, glitter, fluff, bears rabbit and kitties oh my. And people, never not students. Oh how Damien wished ther really wasn't much left to go through.

Except maybe a nice room to take a nap in, or that shower he was praying to Jack for. Granted it wouldn't be much of a haunted house to have such luxuries but hey, a hound could wish right?

The antenna boil was a.. odd character to say the least as he moved maybe a little closer to Faint and away from him in concern for his safety. maybe a little bit of his own too. He did turn toward the were tiger to take a better look at his markings by holding out on of his arms to inspect the darkened areas of his skin. "Interesting bub." he murmured out before dropping the limb in shock.

Did he-
Damien was flabbergasted by the question as he just stared at the boil that said it in case he misheard him. Those antennae must have wanted to be removed if he had to ask that. "Uh... No, I like my fur where it is, on my body. As a part of me." he sputtered out after a few moments of stammering from the alarming question. He did imagine what it would look like to be furless, he didn't like how it would look as he shook off the image with a full body shudder.

Dontthinkaboutitdontthinkaboutitdontthinkaboutit~

"And no, I don't need a trim, I did that to my trail already." he said as a matter of fact, just incase it was the next line of questioning he was going to ask. a shaved Hellhound. He could heard the clan laughing at him now if they could see such a thing. Plus i would be impossible to deal with the cold.

The Vero, king of bad ideas. he mused to himself before elbowing Faint in his glittery chest, maybe not as gently as he did last time.

Face your Demons

Ririka

Tanukyle

[ stairway. ]

Jaime stared up at the sign that hung over the unremarkable door, making it all the more remarkable given the extravagance of the festival that whirled and reveled around it. The harsh pink of the flowery script contrasted even with the flowers of light that surrounded it, though the irony was lost entirely on Jaime. Sighing, the zombie steeled himself, preparing to enter. He'd come to the festival with the intent of trying everything once, a goal that he'd made good progress on so far, though with varying degrees of success. Besides, he was already living in the scariest place around, how bad could it end?

When he pulled open the door with deadened, stitched fingers and stared into the horrors that lay within, he understood just how radically erroneous his assumption had been.

Standing in the lobby, mist just as harsh as the sign outside playing around the ruins of his shoes. As his eyes wandered slowly among the absolutely adorable and completely repulsive paintings upon the walls, he said, softly, to himself, “For the love of Jack and all that's spooky, it smells even worse than ME in here.” This elicited a giggle from the nearest fellow festivalgoer, and, because Jaime had no idea whether it the giggle's intent was sympathy or offense, he let it drop. Instead he focused on the archway and the staircase, the only two exits from the miasmic room other than the way he came (which was out of the question.) After very little deliberation, he decided on the stairway upward, hoping only to clear the foyer as soon as possible. He tried to make his way to the stairs with as little frantic determination as possible, and, with no idea of how he had done, ascended.

On the way up, he passed a hippogryph and a water demon. They were standing slightly aside, and Jaime sidled past them, rather awkwardly, whilst trying to hide the phenomenal levels of anxiety that had sprung up just from seeing them, imagining how he must look to them as he walked up alone.

Jaime almost heaved a sigh of dead air pulled from what was left of his ruined lungs, so great was his joy when he finally passed the other two and a bend in the stairs eclipsed them. He was so relieved, in fact, that he didn't notice the dog demon standing in front of him, flicking his tail with a rather menacing-looking tip back and forth absent-mindedly. Fortunately for his deteriorating mindset, he looked up and managed to stop himself before crashing right into the boy in front of him.

He could not, however, stop himself from letting off a startled, “O-oh... uhm...”

Vero blinked, apparently not having taken into account how personal the topic was, or how odd a suggestion it appeared. "Fur is replaceable," it insisted, clearly unaware of how quickly it was paving the road to de-antennaenation - or de-limbing. "And grows back with time. Unless we find water to bathe in . . ."

It took a quick look around. No, not so much as a drinking fountain in this hallway!

Ah well.

"Faint. Barely discernable, just within sight. This is acceptable," the little spirit intoned with a nod to the weretiger, noting the stripes as he had said. "Though we suggest keeping something over one's fur lest more glitter come about to mar it."

Shirtlessness, fur . . . Vero could not empathize, what with its bits of shell-like skin covering otherwise smooth and soft body. At best, the goo that was still stuck on the hairy protrusions from its arms and legs (mostly legs as the cloak had taken most of the explosion) were an example.

"This is why we have taken precaution with Natalia's tail," it explained, pointing to the were-ghoul's tail currently lodged within the seat of its shorts.. "Both to ensure one does not get lost from the other and to provide protection from other nasty disturbances in the mansion. If shaving is not agreeable, pants-shoving should be."

And it was quite, quite serious about this.

[Hallway]

Damien used Elbow attack! ...Elbow attack was super effective!

Faint coughed and held his chest, glaring at Demi. That had jacking hurt. All he'd done was laugh a little. So what if the image of a shaved hell hound made him laugh a little? It was all in good fun.

He'd barely gotten his breathe back when he choked on the air his lungs took in at Vero's suggestion. Pants stuffing was most certainly not agreeable. Maybe more agreeable than shaving, but the difference was miniscule. Microscopic. Negligible. There was no way his tail was going in anyone's pants.

He looked a Demi with his ears flat.

Right?

The ever growing smirk on Damien's face said otherwise. Oh how he wished to laugh in the were tiger's face about the turn of events. But instead of howling in laughter, he schooled his face into one of complete indifference to Vero. "Oh I agree." he said with great honeyed sarcasm. "Pants shoving is a much, MUCH better idea than shaving." he said before pausing to relish the look on Faint's face.

Sweet Jack, he wanted to just drop the act right there and laugh in his face. "Sadly, my tail isn't as long as yours faint so I guess its all on you." he managed to wheeze out before chuckling darkly before exposing one of his pants belt loops. "Come on, before we get separated by another disaster."

He should really learn to keep his camera on him at all times, yet another hard learned lesson.
