Yes, I'm in here. I uploaded a copy of my consciousness to the Tardis Martix, then updated it every time I was hard-wired into it... He looked around. I'm glad to see that we managed to rescue you, Katrina... He cringed a little as he took a look at his own body. I... I've made myself a home here, but I can also remember everything since before the last update. So, why did you call me out here?

" Well actually we were hoping to put you back in your body but if you'd rather stay in there that's fine." The Doctor was a little disappointed but if Drean wanted this he could stay in the TARDIS.

And my body? The Tardis and I have been running some diagnostics, and the nanites have not only repaired the damage... It'll sustain itself. You'll have a ready-to-program cybrog laying around in the Tardis... And if even a small activation signal can make it through here, he'll wake up with basic cyberman programming... Drean looked back at the Tardis matrix, who was walking up behind him. So... There had to be an operating system already running.
Drean, you know that you'll still be here... Literally, in my heart... She rested a gentle hand on his shoulder.
One of me will... It's a simple copy-paste trick. But... I'll be out there, too... I can't know if I'll be the one in here or out there. And, I'll still get updates of what it's like to be out there.
One sentient to another, you know I would never kick you out of here, Drean. I won't force you to go. But you know what I think. You've saved my Doctor's life many times. He still needs you, "out there" or "in here..."

The Doctor nodded. " Look I don't care which choice you make. All I can say is this body isn't you. Even if I did boot it up." Katrina looked up at Drean. " The TARDIS is right though. He does need someone around. And.. if I go he'll only have you."

Katrina smiled. " I said if! Of course I'm not leaving you dodo head!" The Doctor was happy to hear her say that. But he knew the price for staying with him. " I have to warn you if you stay with me.. It's not safe. You may not come back." Katrina took his hand. " I know that. And I'm willing to take the risk."

Drean smiled, and his shoulders (which had tensed in apprehension) relaxed again. Good... Because, well, ever since my parents died, the Doctor's really been like a father to me. And the Tardis, she's helped me and watched over me just like a mother... Even though we fought at first, I think that I'm starting to enjoy having you around, Katrina... Drean began to blush, and he quickly turned back around to look up at the manifestation of the Tardis matrix. Heh, I'll never remember what I did out there, that data's lost forever to me. You'll have to let me know, yourself. But I still remember how determined I was to go and rescue you, and that's enough for me to give life as a cyborg another try. I'm ready...
The Tardis matrix's eyes became teary as she leaned down and whispered something in Drean's ear, then gave him a gentle, motherly kiss on the cheek. Without another word from the two, the screen went back to its normal viewscreen readout. Uploading and installing "Drean Overton" to cyborg. A final, large cable sneaked out from under the Tardis and attached itself to the back of Drean's neck. His body tensed and shook as the massive download took place, and a loading bar on the console began to flash.

" Woah what's going on?!" The Doctor looked at the console. " I think he's going back to his body."

After a few minutes, the loading bar finally filled and disappeared, and the cable disconnected itself from Drean. After a few more seconds, Drean's eyes flickered open, and he immediately grabbed his head, momentarily ignoring the Doctor and Katrina. Ugh... That was one crazy ride..

Katrina was so overwhelmed with joy she couldn't contain it. " Drean!" She gave him a big hug. The Doctor smiled. " Welcome back to our side."

Drean smiled, trying not to blush at the embrace. He returned the hug, grasping her as tightly as he dared with his highly-dense body. It's... nice to be back... There were more than a few small whirring sounds coming from his chest as components and hardware slid back into place. So, Katrina... How did you manage to get into so much trouble, I wound up as an offline piece of hardware?

Katrina recanted the whole story. The Doctor interjected a couple points. It seemed to take a while but it was a lot of information.

Drean listened intently to the tale, asking few questions and drawing several conclusions. Mostly, though, he stared at Katrina in awe. That- That's amazing! Almost like some kind of biogenetical metacrisis! But... Katrina. That was more than a thousand years of life... in the palm of your hand. You gave it all up??

Drean's eyes began to water. Kat... Thank you. He held up his cyber-arm, flexing the hand as a couple small tears ran down his face. You didn't even save an enitre life, more like half of one...
