Sighing with both satisfaction and a good measure of exasperation, the Doctor leaned against the bar and shook his head. They couldn't just have a nice moment, could they? He reached for a glass and handed it to Z4, man should have known better, but then again...who could have predicted that the Alpha He-man was capable of both impromptu choreography and fisticuffs.

He reached for his own glass and stared down at it sadly. Couldn't drink it so may as well...

He upended it over A7's helmet, and then balanced the glass neatly on top. "Most invigorating, eh?"

Zeta Eight eyed the Doctor curiously as he spoke, her eyebrows furrowing thoughtfully beneath her gas-mask at the exchange between him and Alpha Seven. There was clearly something going on between them, and by the looks of it, at least in the Doctor's case, it was far too sneaky for their own good. She was not the master of subtly, however, so instead she stared blankly between the two of them, shifting her gaze every few seconds as if perhaps she could wring an answer from one of them that way. In fact, it only really clicked as Alpha Seven's shoulders slumped a little in a pout, and she watched his gas-mask turn as he scanned the room, as if looking for someone...

...oh.

By the time the song started, she was already turning away, slipping off the barstool when suddenly large, strong hands were plucking her up again, pulling her not only off the stool, but away from her escape, pulling her into an impromptu embrace, his arms and body against hers leading her into a swaying dance. It was short, ending as abruptly as it began with a subtle release, but the end result was the same. Leaving her standing there, Zeta Eight watched, completely unmoving and stiff-bodied as Alpha Seven stepped away, falling into place with the Doctor and Zeta Four.

Oh god. They were dancing. In step. It was completely hilarious, and even she might have laughed, if she hadn't been stunned into utter silence, still shocked by her sudden inclusion. Completely speechless, she turned to Alpha One as if for guidance, only to find he looked just as bewildered as she was. But if she thought her inclusion ended there, she was sadly mistaken.

It was the sound of ice clattering over the bar that coaxed Zeta Eight's attention back to the singing trio, her eyes finding Zeta Four just in time to watch him put the icebox on his head. It seemed he'd found his silly hat after all... as well as some nerve. Glancing down at the hand that suddenly took hers, she found herself suddenly spun, once again pulled into step. It was Zeta Four's turn now to earn himself a blank stare from the girl, her expression a clear 'what are you doing' right before a large fist connected with her 'dance partner's face. She didn't have time to even see if he was alright before there was another spin, her hands reaching out to steady herself as she returned to Alpha Seven's arms, fingers finding purchase on his shoulders in an oddly appropriate gesture.

As the song ended, (apparently,) and things started to go quiet, there might have been a flush of embarrassment beneath her mask at the polite clap in the background. Leaning back a little, she watched as the Doctor raised one of the glasses to upturn it over Alpha Seven's head, effectively evading most of the splash as the water tumbled in rivulets over the suit.

"... you deserved that."

Zeta Eight wasn't a very good liar. As if to cover up this fact, she looked over her shoulder to where Zeta Four was, giving him a quizzical look. She couldn't exactly ask him if he was alright, now that she thought about it -- he was dead.

Eyes narrowed, forgetting most everything that had just transpired when Z-8 approached them. Goodness, it hadn't been that loud, and if A-Three remembered correctly, the lass had attacked Fiver the first time that he died. "Oh, as though bashing you over the head with a mace wasn't enough." He murmured, wishing now that he could dress a bit of that wine. Hard liquor was all nice, but...wine was far classier...and he could manage to get himself drunk like that all the same, at least, he thought he remembered something to that effect. Likely not. He was probably a scotch person. "Someone must be hormonal."

And then...what was this? Quite suddenly the lot of them burst into song. Oh goodness, well he had to admit, that wasn't the most annoying thing of the century, now was it? Hmm...the tune, it seemed familiar somehow, as though he'd heard it...perhaps it wasn't the newest of songs, couldn't recall it on the radio. Ah gods, but he wished that he could remember. Even that tune...it would have been nice to recall it. Dis-entwining his hand from Fiver II's own, he slowly clapped once...twice. "Good show." And there was not a moment of sarcasm. "Quite interesting...I didn't precisely think that our dear A-Seven possessed such talents."

Better not to think...about the grim before...and perhaps have a pleasant bit of time before the very end, no matter what that end might be. It didn't matter. He realized that. To cling tightly to the stoicism that he believed necessary. He now had two clingy associates...and they would not let him be distant, in his usual way. So strange, to have people to draw him forth. He doubted he'd have the luxury, after he stepped through that door. "We don't know...what lies there. It's a question that for once, I am not at all sure I wish to know the answer to." That, mostly directed towards Fiver II.

A7 was still swaying with the girl locked in his arms when the liquid hit his head. Out of instinct, he ducked - not that it helped. At least Z8 managed to lean out of the immediate splash zone. He laughed and reached out to give the Doctor a quick, one armed bear hug, laughing as he did so. "Ah, Doc, I knew from the moment I met you I'd like you."

He certainly didn't seem angry, despite the fact he'd just punched a man in the face. It was a friendly punch! Just a little territorial, but friendly nonetheless. Sure, it had Z4 sprawling back, but hey - he couldn't be blamed for it. He was a man, and he did manly things. Like punching other men and breaking out into song- wait, forget that last one.

He brought Z8 to his side so he could bow deeply at A1, a low and exaggerated movement. "Thank you, thank you, we'll be here all night." He called out to the crowd, waving at his invisible fans. Z8 received yet another twirl, before he plopped back down on a barstool and pulled her up onto his knee again.

"What, you didn't like my song? I thought I'd deserve a little sugar for that stunt, not a splash of water." His voice sounded like he was pouting like a child.

Zeta Eight looked like she might have been trying to escape as soon as that one arm left her waist to wrap around the Doctor instead, perhaps fearing that the display might not be over. All things considered, not a terribly unrealistic line of thought -- who could have expected that? And they were completely sober, it was hard to imagine what they would have been like drunk. She got the feeling perhaps it would have been a lot like this, only a lot more naked and possibly accidentally homo-erotic.

... on the other side of a computer screen, girls everywhere cursed the GMs for requiring them to keep their helmets on.

The gentlest of tugs was enough to bring Zeta Eight back to Alpha Seven's side with a non-existent sigh, unmoving but to give him a look as he bowed and feeling the flush rising further over her cheeks, unbidden. Still, she didn't resist as once more picked her up to seat her back in his lap at the bar, tucking her legs between his and under the seat, as if to get comfortable. Reaching a hand out as well, she brought another drink from the assorted line they had used in their song, setting it in front of them idly, listening as he pouted.

Turning to face him thoughtfully after a moment, she leaned forward until the front of there was an audible 'clunk' as the breathing apparatus at the front of their gas-masks collided, withdrawing a few moments later and turning back to her drink as if this clearly had satisfied his requirement.

A7 talked a big game. This much was well known to all who met him, even if only for a few minutes. He acted as though he knew just what to say to get the girls swooning.

Except she was actually swooning. Right at him, as if she wanted to-

Clunk.

"OH THESE MOTHER ******** MASKS, I SWEAR TO GOD." He exploded, his good mood vanishing so quickly it was dizzying. He had no idea that Z8 had probably just done it because they were masked. No, he was clearly convinced that she had forgotten, just as much as he, and she was ready to give in to his manly charms.

He flipped his opinion of this place (and a nearby table) in a snap. Not heaven. No, definitely not heaven. A room with a ton of undrinkable alcohol AND no ability to kiss the girl?

HE WAS BURNING IN THE DEEPEST, DARKEST PITS OF HELL IMAGINABLE.

That door was looking mighty good right about now.

Fiver II frowned at Zeta Eight. She had been his leader for a while but he didn't think they should fight. So he kept his mouth shut. He didn't want to fight.

As the song began, Fiver II lit up like fireworks. This was fantastic! He listened with keening interest as he lifted himself up and let go of Three. In fact, he got off the couch all together. The man seemed amazed by the turn of events and equally as excited. Never mind most of these people attempted to or had killed him. He seemed to have forgiven everyone completely.

The younger man turned with almost tangible joy. His hand extended his fingers toward Three with his head tilted slightly to the side. He didn't wait for the other to respond before he had Three's hand and was tugging him to himself.

The song was over but another voice started quietly at first. He wanted to dance, to sing, to forget everything that had happened for a little while.

It started slowly and quietly, as if he was trying to remember the song that had made its self known, "If we could sit together a moment and talk forever just to pass the time. I would smile as the shivers and chills run down my spine when your eyes are locked on mine."

Then, got louder as he started to remember the rest of the song., "Oh, we will fill the metro skies with country air. And when you close your tired eyes I'll meet you there I'll meet you there.

Deep inside of you there's a ruby glow. And it gets brighter then you and I will ever know. There's a rushing sound that surrounds us when we walk alone And it's everything we've never known."
He was inviting Three into a dance whither the other wanted it or not. Not even aware of anyone else in the room other then Fiver but his attention was locked on the taller man.

He knew why he choose the song. Where ever they ended up. However that door changed their fate. No matter where it took them.

He wanted to meet him there. Both of them.

[A-Eleven appearing from The Last Man Standing]

Her last few moments had been terrifying. Terror she had not thought possible. Perhaps she deserved it. Perhaps no one did. She didn't know and didn't want to. All she wanted was for it to be over.

Then it was.

She was...in a room? Not the tiny, smelly, squishy nightmare room she had thought she would spend eternity in, either. A larger room, with comfy chairs and....people. Masks she recognized! At first glance, folks appeared to be happy!

Was she really dead? She had to be. There was no way to survive...that.
So, they were all dead. They had to be. That was the only reason for them all to be here, wasn't it?

"So, this is death?" she murmured. More than anything, it was a relief. Under her mask, she was smiling.

E7 was sitting watching the now singing chorus as they seemed to start up a dance number too. "Well... at least we get entertainment." He said slightly unsure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

He sighed placing an arm behind his head, this was going to be a boring last few days or whatever, he almost wondered if they still had cell phones down here at least it told them what day it was. He frowned as he sat there watching them.

"At least it's not cats?" He said softly.

And so they had burst out into song and dance. yII recognized the song now, vaguely, but.. he wasn't quite sure what to make of all of this. It was... something for sure. He just didn't know what that something was exactly. The little show was kind of entertaining in a sense. It was also good they were making the most out of their death he supposed. When the number ended, he clapped a little awkwardly. Judging the reactions from others in the room, they weren't really sure what to make of the performance either.

That feeling quickly ended as he heard A7's outburst. Another table was flipped. Rubbing the top part of his mask in an attempt to rub his forehead, he let out a sigh. Something told him this lounge was going to be a complete disaster zone by the time the week was up with all the people wrecking stuff inside of it.

She had been trying not to get involved with anyone else, aside from those she had somehow found herself acquainted with due to the circumstances - Betas because they were her team, part of Epsilon because they were the team stationed at the same place as the Betas and they did fight due to the unclear instructions of a horse-thing that made them kneel and then race for a pendent, and finally, the three Gammas (2 deceased and with her) who she had allied her group with at the Lighthouse, prior to her (premature) death.

However, it was hard to ignore a bunch of people singing, dancing and flirting in front of you. Did they like, fall in love over the short span of 2-3 days? Or did they just want to have fun one last time before walking through the door? Unlike they, she was contented with watching rather than joining in, although the song was... Somewhat familiar. Like she had probably heard it before once upon a time, but like most things, it had been wiped away with her memories.

"HAHAHAHAHA," An obnoxious laugh for an obnoxious character, perhaps, but it was so clearly her. It made her feel alive even if she was dead, dead, dead. She clapped along with Gamma Two, although her applause was much more enthusiastic even if she was smirking behind her mask as she looked in the direction of the bar, where A7 was, "You're much more entertaining than the dramatic trio!"

"We didn't really meet in the best of ways," A-One said dryly in A-Three's general direction. "Betting that our musical talents and all that weren't likely to come up in conversation." He leaned back against the comfortable cushions of the couch and regarded the crowd - some still angry, some disoriented, some almost playful. What would the introduction of this bizarre group have been like if it hadn't involved amnesia, weaponry, and death threats?

In comparison to the island, being dead was actually pretty relaxing, and A-One was regaining his sense of humor. He did wonder what he'd been like before all of this. Flawed. Human. They all had been and still were. Funny, he'd sort of expected the afterlife to involve less gas masks and alcohol and more harps and wings. Or flames and pitchforks. The singing was less startling, even if he wouldn't precisely have expected the angelic chorus to look or behave like this.

... Maybe, it occurred to him slowly, that was for the best. He hadn't survived the test, hadn't even made it to the middle of the week, but he thought he might be starting to understand some things about himself better. The ideas he'd had about heaven were pretty narrow-minded. Maybe that meant he could stand to loosen up a little, learn more about others. Well, if he hadn't died.

He wasn't ready to step through that door into emptiness yet. There were still - still friends here. And that was dumb, because he barely knew any of them, but he still thought maybe he'd miss them after he left.

[A-Nine entering from the Event ORP thread. She was not The Last Man Standing.]

Nope, getting squished was definitely worse. Not that A-Nine had much experience getting eviscerated by scythes, but she seriously doubted it could top the feeling of getting mashed into a pulp.

It was probably how a fly feels, she supposed, in its last horrible moments after getting squashed by a fly-swatter.

A-Nine shivered. Yuck.

At least the fly was squished and not buzzing about in her head anymore. It was a lot easier to think, now that she was outside of that suffocating room with all its bits and bone and red.

Red. A-Nine looked around the room. The other phoenixes were here!

She started to take a step forward, a joyful grin on her face, when she caught sight of A-Eleven, standing in amongst the crowd. No. She had failed her squad. She had promised and had failed all the same.

The pendants were gone -- all three of them! And that scythe too! And she had lost that watch. And to top it off, she had another one of her spells and didn't protect her team until it was too late and almost all of them were pieces... A-Eleven and A-Two were pulp. Probably part of a juicy little cube back in that room, along with everyone else.

A-Nine shook her head. Hard. The buzzing was starting again. Bees this time. Or wasps. "No..." she mumbled.

A-One was sitting on one of the red couches and she scurried over to him. She hesitantly sat down, unable to quite look him in the eye. "S-sorry, boss." A-Nine could feel tears start to well up in her eyes.

"I know death isn't so bad and hey, there are drinks! But I know I let phoenix down and I'm sorry. I tried. I really, really, did! But I spaced out again and was useless -- even though I promised -- and, and..." A-Nine hiccuped and then hiccuped again. "Sorry." she finally said miserably.

[A-Two entering from THE LAND OF SQUISH]

A-Two's entrance was impossible to ignore, given that she popped in mid-scream... and didn't seem inclined to stop. The girl collapsed immediately, curled in on herself tightly. Too tightly.

Eventually, though, she had to breathe.... breathe?! You couldn't breathe when you were dead, could you? Yet breathe she did, and her scream faded away. Slowly, shakingly, she uncurled, staring at the room around her.

What.

"...."

All he could do as this point was watch the scene with a raised brow. Really, being able to drink would be good right now, especially with such headache inducing "entertainment". If he didn't want to stay "alive" for a bit longer to get his thoughts together he would be right out that door to complete his journey to the afterlife.

Slowly, E8 picked himself off the floor and cautiously scooted his way to his team member. "E7, I don't think we want to risk giving them any ideas now... I don't know about you, but I want to keep what sanity I have left."
