She WHAT?! Riley seethed, glaring daggers at the now locked door. She had been cheering the students on, giving them advice.. she thought Professor Red was actually doing an excellent job of leading the students through this battle.
But she LEFT?
Riley found herself very uncomfortably at a loss for what to do. She heard Tess's suggestion, but couldn't imagine that the machines were still connected to something electrically. I don't think they're still plugged in. Can you check to make sure? She would have done so herself, but she could hear her name being whined from some unknown corner of the room. She followed the sound, and finally found Israfel curled up behind a washing machine.
Which, in her opinion, was a terrible place to be hiding right now.
Israfel, shh. She leaned in, and scooped the siren up into her arms. She carried him away from the washing machine, coddling him gently. We're not going to die. Don't be silly. If we need to defeat these things, we'll do it on our own. We don't need Professor Red. She assured him.
She just wished she could believe that, herself.
Everybody, back away from the machines. We need to regroup, and figure out exactly what to do. Together.

Water gushed around his feet, and Barth made a slow and soggy retreat. He heard Riley's rally to arms and call for strategization...where was she, anyway? The last time he'd followed her he'd been boiled to death. Taking stock of the hot water, boiling wasn't improbable.
But something she said did make him think.
They were only devices, after all. Devices gone mad, but if he had been designed to do laundry, he might have snapped too. If he thought about it, they were ultimately Labor Saving Devices...and when they weren't going on a rampage, cut down on the workload from those awful cauldrons. A design that could stand improvement, certainly, but...his hatred for them had already softened.
"Maybe they can be, err, reasoned with?"

At his Mistress's command and the sudden lack of Red, the hunchback backed away from the machines a few steps, looking panicked.
The machines were rumbling.... and if rumbling machines meant anything like the rumble of machines that happened while trying to make sense of Barth's halfhazard lazy blueprints once he was done with it, IT DID NOT BODE WELL. Anxiously, he made sure he was between Amrita and her friends and the washers- if they exploded at least he could recover from damages a bit easier than the ghouls with just a few stitches...

For a fleeting second the marid had been happy she'd proposed the idea. Red seemed to like it, and she'd even complimented her on her skills with the stir oar.
But then the moment pasted, and Yaya watched with slack jawed astonishment as their teacher left them there to fend for themselves against the marauding equipment. What the jack had just happened??

Still standing with Cora, LW, and the gargoyle boil Morton, Ren slipped his hands into his pockets, glancing about the room with a rather disgruntled expression. He wasn't pleased to have been somehow thrown into the situation, and it seemed like nothing that was happening was very good. Not only that, but he kept falling, and then -
Click.
"Er," said Ren, gaze sliding towards the laundry room door briefly before moving back to the others. "Did she, ah...just...leave us here? With...those, uh...things?"
He gestured lamely to the washer and dryer, which were, in fact, sputtering and spewing what looked like rather gross water towards them.

Nyyrikki's jaw dropped twice. Once, when Red dashed out and locked the door behind her. That... was unexpected. And slightly concerning. What did Red know that the students didn't?
Second, it dropped when he got sprayed with a mouthful (machine full?) of dirty water. Nasty, dirty, sock water? Oh heeeells no. He was all to happy to listen to Riley and back away.
"What are we going to do?"

When Amrita had stepped towards her, Lizzy instinctively held onto her hand - the awkward way she had to do it no longer fazed her as she gave the Vetala's hand a squeeze to comfort her. She didn't want to go into panic mode, but it was way too difficult!
Turning to look at Tess, she forced a chuckle, "Well, I wasn't there in that other bathroom but I'm glad that its... Not as bad?" Yup, she didn't mind her friend's attempt to trying to cheer them up in this situation. In fact, she even offered Tess a small smile for her effort, hoping that yes, whatever was just spewed at them was just water. When the cord was mentioned, however, Lizzy frowned, "Its unlikely, but... We should check, just in case..."
Part of her, however, thought that even if there was a cord attached, it wasn't what's supplying the two machines with power... It just never hurts to try!
She nodded at Riley's suggestion before holding onto Tess' hand with her other hand, and pulling both ghouls back towards Riley. She then realized that Christof was still trying to be a real man and standing in front of them. Well, at least he's trying.

Before Lucien could make it over to Israfel he was distracted. He had seen a blur of red run by from the corner of his eye. His body froze. WAS IT THE GNOME? Oh no. He quickly turned his head around in the direction of the blur to identify just who had run by. He just barely managed to catch Professor Red disappear into a room and then lock it. Wait, why did their professor leave them? Oh well, Lucien sighed with relief. It wasn't a gnome after all.
There was a high-pitched whirling sound noise that was distracting Lucien. He wasn't sure which way he should go. Every time he tried to go one way or the other the sound would ping into his ears and he would stop what he was doing, forgetting which direction he was planning on going towards. Instead he sort of just stood there in the middle of the room and when Riley said something to everyone about re-grouping, the air spirit was unable to hear her properly or do anything about in. Instead he stood there hugging his head until it got too much for the air spirit to take. His mood took a turn for the worst and the happy-go-lucky boil floated towards the two machines. They had to have plugs SOMEWHERE, right? He investigated unhappily. He would find them, and unplug them. Then that horrible noise would stop!

Lilith hadn't seen Professor Red flee and lock herself away in another room. No. She was too busy trying to beat the laundry out of the metal monsters. She would do it, she would do it. Wait. What? She had heard people whispering something about the teacher having fled into another room. It interested her to wonder why, but it didn't stop her. No. Nothing was going to stop her, at least, not until her suspicions arose finally pushed on by Riley's words. She thought about it for a moment and then finally gave the metal monsters one last kick before she withdrew to see what all the fuss was about.
"Did she really just leave? Perhaps she had her tail between her legs too. A lot of good she is. Puts us in here for no good reason and then leaves us with these metal monsters? Good job Academy, good job."
Lilith just wasn't pleased today. Not even slightly.

iStoleYurVamps Crying out in distress, the Siren was far to occupied with avoiding the crazy machines to really notice the professor had left. After all, when something with the power to bleach you was going absolutely nuts that tended to take up a good majority of your attention. Looking up at Riley, Israfel heard her mental question and realized the implications. Red had abandoned them. She'd had left them to die. Or rather, end up later in the Infirmary for Nurse Cricket, (did Red dislike the nurse or something?). Whimpering Israfel looked at the machines while making an attempt to scramble away. " Riley~ Rileyyyyy~" Running from the Fight, the Siren to refuge behind another washing machine. "Riley, she left us to diieeeee" He was freaking out. He was also trembling from his new hiding space. " Anyone see a window we can escape from? Oh Jack I don't want to dieeee." ((HP: 19

Tess manages to fly up and was only hit by the spray! No damage!
Israfel's quick thinking of hiding behind the blasting machine spared him of suffering the same fate as the rest of the class, however he still became damp. No damage!
Yaya uses her natural ability to steer the worst of the water away from her general area, however she and Nyyrikki still manage to get the fowl-smelling water on their persons!
Thanks to his security blanket, Lucien is unharmed! However the water his blanket managed to deflect crashes into Coralie, Riley, and Lilith for 1 damage each!
As Junko tried the door, she, Livius, Lizzy, and Ren were hit for 2 damage each!
While standing around at a loss and in confusion, Morton, Amrita, and LW found another reason to dislike laundry as it hits them each for 3 damage! Barth was hit by this as well, but in his defense he was slowly shuffling away as he tried to think of a less physical solution.
Colette suddenly found herself with the useless wet limp of a snuggie. It was completely drenched, but at least it absorbed most of the water for her. Unfortunately, she was still hit for 3 damage.
Everyone else who wasn't mentioned was hit for 4 damage by the blast of the water.
There was a very good reason why the Professor had fled and slammed the door behind her. The professor ignored the frantic tug on the door, side-stepping away as water gushed out from under the crack. She wrinkled her nose. "Ugh!" While she liked to swim every now and then, used laundry water wasn't something she liked to go frolicking in. She also wasn't a fan of smelling like a wet dog for the rest of the day, either. Red stayed outside the door, listening as the water in the room drained.
At this point, the machine that spewed water had stopped whirling and sat in the middle of the room, silent. That left only the dryer to deal with, and it -- was it doing something?!

Damage Taken First Round: 18 Damage Taken Second Round: 34 Damage Taken Third Round: 52 Damage Taken Fourth Round: N/A Damage Dealt: 3 Washing Machine Defeated!The washing machine certainly didn't look like it was going to move anywhere for awhile. The dryer, now -- its hissing sounded like someone had forgotten to empty their pockets of silver seeds for all its hissing, clattering, and noise. It wasn't a very pleasant noise, but neither was the expression the animate formerly inanimate object. Its gears whined and it let out a shriek so powerful that everyone takes 2 damage! Even Red wasn't spared. The professor shut her eyes and winced, waiting for the ringing to dissipate before re-entering the room with Israfel's torterror, slamming the door shut behind her. "Ugh!" She grumbled, crossing her arms and scowling. "I knew you students were all slackers when it came to fighting, but this takes the cake! Look at your weapons!" The water had soaked into everyone's weapons, the orange dye fading out. Everyone now has only 2 uses left on their weapons, regardless of whether or not it has unlimited uses or if someone has used it already, before it falls apart. Scarves are still limited to one use. After you use your weapon, it is GONE."A good number of you could have stopped it, but you didn't! Think while you act!" Professor Red ordered, clearly dissatisfied with how the battle has gone so far. Quote: You may now resume attacking/defending!All weapons now have two uses left before they are destroyed, regardless of whether or not the weapon had unlimited uses before. The exception to this are soggy scarves which still have only one use left. And yes, chucking a scarf successfully at the washing machine would have stopped it from doing this. : P FLAVOR TEXT: IT IS USUALLY THERE FOR A REASON.

Alas, the gargoyle was so distracted by the disappearance of their professor, that he barely had a chance to react when the water spray was released. It hit him straight in the face, forcing him to take several steps back, his hands raising up in an attempt to block the water and... failing. It was only by the time the washing machine stopped moving that he managed to catch a breather, gasping for air despite the fact he didn't logically need to breathe; Morton would like to point out that despite it not making sense, he still did, very much, need to breathe.
Coughing slightly, the gargoyle turned to make sure his companions were fine. He'd managed to move in time, blocking out most of the water from hitting Coralie but... he'd not been fast enough to help Ren or LW. He sometimes wished his wings were... normal, rather than made merely of bone. He reached up to brush wet, plastered bangs away from his eyes, "Everyone okay?" the words were managed between coughs, but he still managed regardless.
One look around the room determined that just like them, most students had been hit by the water blast, though some lucky ones remain unharmed. The washing machine seemed to be down though the other one... screeched, forcing Morton to lift his hands to his ears in an attempt to block to horrible sound, "Dear Jack, make it stop!" he took the moment to land a hefty kick on the dryer. His eyes flew to Red as she berated them, and then down to the sweater tied around his middle section. His lips thinned, "I don't think I'm using it right, because I keep missing when I do so!"

Maritess went with Lizzy and Amrita towards Riley just as the washing machine made its final assault on the students. Her wings folded in front of her out of instinct, forcing her to let go of Lizzy's hand as she let out a pained squeak. When the washing machine quieted down, she remembered Riley's orders. Grabbing both Lizzy and Amrita, she began tugging them away while calling for Christof, "You be careful too! Jack knows what else-" before she could finish, the dryer let out a shriek.
Tess grimaced at the sonic attack but kept a firm hold of her friends. She shot a menacing glare at the dryer when Red returned. Oh. So the battle instructor didn't abandon them! Yay! Faith has been restored! She felt ashamed that she hadn't been much help in the fight, getting tangled up in the clotheslines, barely making a dent on the machines, and now her weapon was soaked and losing its orange color!
Frustration, shame, and just a tiny hint of anger prompted Tess to let go of Lizzy and Amrita and emerge from the safety that Christof provided. Tying her drenched wool sweater to her torso as she took to the air, she circled the dryer. It was then she spotted a gnome sneaking a peek at the battle from beneath an upturned laundry cart. She swooped down, "You guys have been working with these things! Don't just hide there, DO SOMETHING!!" she screamed, tipping over the cart and grabbing the hiding creature by the scruff of his shirt. Tess will not deny she may have overreacted a teeny bit when she chucked the gnome at the dryer.
