Why are these lights so bright

Scarlet Macey Blaire Macey let go of her parents after a little while longer. They were going to need her now that Marvin was gone. Need her to keep in touch, and be good and such, they had enough to deal with at the moment. Parent's aren't supposed to have to bury their children. Hopefully things would only get better from that point on. Hopefully.
Once she let them go, she stood up next to Tyler, and rested a hand on his shoulder. She had completely missed the unspoken conversation between Tyler and her father. Though, she did catch the 'you'd better' gaze that her father sent in his direction. Deciding that it was none of her business, she spoke up. "Well, you guys were the first to find out....We still need to go head over and tell Tyler's parents......." She trailed off for a bit before finishing her sentence. "Then, we need to tell his girlfriend...." At that one, her father chuckled. "Good luck with that one...".

Tyler nodded subtly to her father. He would. He loved Macey, he'd come to realize rather quickly. To what extent he didn't know, but he did. And he would never, ever, hurt her, in any way.
He nodded and stood up. "Thanks...for everything. Understanding, showing those letters." he said, smiling at them.
He chuckled when his girlfriend was mentioned. "Oh well. Hopefully she doesn't freak." he said, looking at Mace.
"Ready?"

Scarlet Macey Blaire Macey laughed slightly at Tyler's statement. "If I found out that my boyfriend went and got married, I'd be pissed, and I think it's safe to say the same about Brooke..." She commented. It was true, but she might not have to worry about that issue ever again. When he stood up, she wrapped an arm around his waist, somewhat possessively. Of course, she didn't realize it. Her parent's did, but didn't say anything.
"I'm ready to go when you are, Tyler..." She stated with a small smile. "Good luck.." Her mom chimed in before they could head out the door. "Yeah, if Brook starts anything, Mace, take care of her.." Her dad stated, not completely worried about how his little girl would fare in a fight. He knew that since it would come down to someone she cared about, she'd be damn near invincible. She was a tough little girl.

Ty noticed her arm around his waist and smiled as they left. Once outside, he kissed her on the cheek. He really didn't know what to say, so he led her back to the car and headed back to his house, to tell his parents.

Scarlet Macey Blaire Macey blushed slightly as he kissed her on the cheek, but went and got in the passenger's seat. Like him, she couldn't think of anything to say, and the butterfly's in her stomach were acting up again. Now she was worried about how his parents would take it.
Mace spent the whole ride over to the Jameson household tapping her fingers on the door handle. It was a nervous habit of hers.

"Relax." Ty said after a few minutes of hearing her fingers tapping. He smiled. "It'll be fine. I promise." he said. He took her hand and smiled as they drove. he pulled into his driveway and go out, grabbing his bags from the trunk and heading to the door.

Scarlet Macey Blaire Macey heard the word come out of Tyler's mouth, however, she couldn't bring herself to relax. When he took her left hand, she held onto his. It was a bit reassuring, but she was still worried. After what seemed like forever, they finally arrived at his parent's house.
Mace bit her lip as she let go of his hand and opened her door, getting out. She was going to help him carry his bags. It was pointless, though, he had already gotten them. So, she went in front of him and opened the door to the house for him..

Tyler hauled his bags upstairs, passing his father in the hall. "Hey, can I see you and Mom in the living room?" he said. His father nodded and headed downstairs. He put his stuff away and came back down, looking at his father. His mother came in from the back room and sat down, looking at them.
"Well?" his father said. He seemed rude and abrupt, but he wasn't really. He just liked getting down to business.
"Um...Mace...do you want to say it? Or shall I?"

Scarlet Macey Blaire Macey followed behind Tyler until he got to the stairs. She'd been over to his house quite a few times before, mainly for birthdays and such. Knowing the basic layout of the house, she headed towards the living room, giving each of Tyler's parents a small nervous smile when they came in.
Finally, Tyler came and joined them. She didnt' feel so awkward, but she was still so nervous. Then his father spoke, and Tyler asked if she wanted to tell them. Gah! Why would he ask that? However, it only seemed fair that because he had told her parents that she should tell his. "Ummm...Tyler and I got married the other night.." She said rather quickly, trailing off before adding another statement. "Please don't hate me..." This was said quite quietly, however audible enough for everyone else to hear.

His parents stared for a moment. It was a long time before one of them spoke. "Macey, dear, we would never hate you." his mother said. James offered a small, weak smile.
"I...don't know if I like the decision, it seems sudden and very rash...but you two do seem happy." his father said after a long moment. "Your parents approve of this, Macey?" he asked, looking at her.

Scarlet Macey Blaire Macey's nerves grew so tense in that long awkward silence between the four of them. She couldn't help but think the worst. However, Tyler's mother's words eased the worry a bit. As it was, she still bit her lip. After a bit, his father finally spoke.
"Well, It's not like we planned it...We had gotten drunk after Marvin's memorial service..and next thing we knew, we were married. We don't even remember the whole thing..." She admitted, blushing furiously. That wasn't her normal behavior, and she was sure the Jameson's knew that much about her. "My parent's kinda wished it hadn't happened the way it had, but they accept it. Tyler and I are trying to see if we can do this thing..."

His father nodded. "I understand. I would have liked to have held a real wedding, but, if you guys are happy, and if you want to try, I guess I'm okay with it." he said. His mother nodded as well. "I'm fine with it too." she said. She figured that at least Tyler had married a girl she could trust, and his father thought the same thing. They were both happy too that Macey had found a man she could trust.
