[Holy crap, fast thread is fast!]

Deacon had believed the train ride to be an annoyance. Now, he'd so much rather be riding the jacking cold train than where he was now... Hiking half blindly through snow up to his shoulders.

Yes, his shoulders.

A low growl had been ever present in his throat from the moment he snapped out of his daze after the crash to rub his aching head with a paw. Then to realize that it was a paw, which resulted at him looking down at himself to notice that he was nothing more than a cat. Well, a Bakeneko cat... But, nonetheless a tiny, furry creature that really didn't want to be treading through the snow.

He'd apparently fallen a ways behind the others; likely due to the fact that from the tracks the rest of them had remained much bigger than he was now (much to his further annoyance). Deacon spent what felt very much like several hours trying to hop over the deep snow and into the tracks of the classmates that had continued on in hopes of catching up with them.

He was pretty convinced his claws were going to be put to use, too. He didn't like being left behind, and he sure couldn't rightly voice his concern in this form.

Braum growled his annoyance softly, going to side with the two Avarice Demons, and crossing his arms unhappily. His tail lashed back and forth. He was so over this. Every time they went to move SOMETHING popped up and came at them. Not only that, but while he'd been stretching his wings, that idiot Israfel had gotten into a fight. And had gotten himself hurt fairly badly. Moron. It all put the raum in a bad mood, not to mention he still felt a mild desire to beat one of the woodland creatures to a pulp himself, and West had clearly beaten him to the punch.

Rolling his eyes at the insanity unfolding in front of him, he looked to the Crow Demon expectantly, raising a manicured eyebrow.

"Are we making groups, or not? Either way, I want to get moving. Wasn't everyone arguing last night about staying stagnant in large groups? If we aren't going to stay together, then lets get going already, I have people I need to catch up to and care for no matter how much I want to make sure the Siren doesn't kill himself,"
he frowned. He didn't care who went with who at this point.

It didn't look likely that Israfel was going to leave Riley's side, and he'd rather not stick around for the 'skullface akshuns' simply for the fact that a) the pricoli, while not bad looking, didn't really interest him much, and b) it made him FIERCELY jealous. He'd only illicited a peck on the cheek so far from Belladonna, and ached to be with her right now, making sure she was fine. He didn't want to feel sorry for himself when he should be channeling his frustration and willpower into getting through to the goal, and consequently reuniting with his girls. As always, his cellphone rang at the inopportune moment he was trying to look stern.

'If you wanna be with me,
There's a price you have to pay
I'm a djinni in a bottle
You gotta rub me the right way
If you wanna be with me
I can make your wish come true
You gotta make a big impression
I gotta like what you do '

He frowned, pulling his phone (whose volume had been turned to LOW after the last time, but still the song managed to be a decent volume), and flipping it open.

"Jack Dammit, Yaya, I was trying to be serious," he grumbled mostly to himself, his features not really angry, as mostly he was just relieved that the marid had been able to find enough safe time to send a message. At least she was alright. With a small, defeated sigh, he texted back.

'Try not to nap in the snow, Yaya. You might get frozen or ambushed. Stay safe until I can get to you.' the phone beeped low once to signify the message had sent, and he decided to type a quick one out to Belladonna just to check in, as he'd promised he would. He had his phone out anyways, and already looked thoroughly pumpkin-whipped, so why not?

'Bell, how are you doing? Were you terribly cold last night? Are you injured? <3 xoxo ' he typed, hunching his shoulders over so the avarice demons next to him couldn't spot the sappy 'hugs and kisses' he'd tagged onto the end, and snapped his phone shut the moment it beeped, a small flush appearing on his face as he tried to resume his authoritative stance before he'd been interrupted by his phone. He made sure to turn it to 'vibrate' before stowing it away though.

"Oh well THAT'S convenient!"

Nuk made a face as the human-Shehk suddenly started to change, watching as she shrunk and her bones twisted until she was hell of a lot smaller than she had been before, silvery pelt blending in well with the wintery wonderland. His glowing amber eyes narrowed slightly, clearly suspicious of the 'random' transformation, following her canine form as she bounded away to go play with Luce. "You did that on purpose!" he called after her, running a few steps in the snow after her, thoroughly annoyed when he COULDN'T transform. Well that was great. Just great. JOY sucked.

The sound of Israfel's voice brought his attention back to the group, and the skinwalker sighed a little at the love lost, pouting in Shehk's direction before tossing a look over his shoulder, blinking twice. Hey... that cat looked a remarkably familiar shade of orange... he'd never SEEN his friend's kitty-form, but he was pretty sure... that was...

"Deacon?"

Another slight movement in the corner of his eye and he growled, jerking his snow-bazooka out of the ground where he'd left it, whipping it at the tree. That just seemed low, ganging up on a little kitty. Still, he was sure Deacon could take care of himself.

"KICK IT'S a** DEACON."

((1-10 shift))

"Nice job," nodded Jericho to Riley as she took care of the tree without much issue... though he wondered if the flash was all that necessary. He let out a light huff as she jumped onto him again but at least she wasn't all that heavy.

The trees, while easily defeated, seemed to be rather relentless as another one went after Isra but was taken down by the drunken siren.

"Alright alright, let's go," he mumbled after his rear had been smacked by the Mindflayer. Not minding the extra weight/warmth on his backside, he started to move along with the others, pausing briefly as Braum mumbled about making groups and whatnot. Jericho didn't care which of the options they took.. they just needed to move their butts right now.

So that was what he was going to do. The dragon continued to trudge through the snow, carrying his gear in his arms. A part of him was rather intrigued with this 'skullfaec akshuns' thing people keep mentioning... but perhaps it could happen while they were moving along. The faster they got through this blasted forest, the happier he'd be.

Hearing Braum step up before he said anything, the Envy demon looked over at him curiously. Mainly cause it was a first and secondly, because he didn't know that West was that close by. "I don't think groups will make much a difference. We're all heading to the same goal, right? I think as long as we follow a set pace, and don't make too many stops, we should be fine all together." He looked a bit thoughtful as he rubbed his chin. "They're going to come at us one way or another. But sitting around only makes it worse... so we can chat and truly move faster at the same time, right?"

Looking at Braum, he nodded his head politely. "Sorry. Never introduced myself. I'm Livi." It was then that the raum's phone went off and instead of looking bothered by it, he seemed rather... amused. Cute. Seems he had a lot of female friends, especially since he had another one before right? But when Braum had been jealous, his brow had jacked up since he had picked it up clearly. This wasn't the first time he had felt that way, that raum. "I'm sure your friends are safe. If they're with their cabins, they should be fine, I think. But let's get going? The longer we sit here, the more cold we get. And I don't think it's a good idea to break off or leave anyone behind... or let them get too far ahead." Rubbing his scratched and throbbing cheek, he shifted his pack a bit as he kicked up some snow with his booted feet. It was chilly out but he wasn't that badly cold.

The smell, though, was getting to him.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 16, 2010 9:11 pm

Nodding to Livius, Braum extended a hand politely. The boy was a demon, and an avarice at that, it was best to make friends with such potentially powerful allies. Not to mention, glancing at the boys choice of clothing, while it WAS a bit worse for wear, he had style. Braum could appreciate that.

"Braumithras. I agree. Lets go. At the very least, we can scout ahead if everyone insists on lagging behind with such nonsense,"
he advised, turning to Corbin, he continued. "Do you mind coming with us as a scouting group? It would be good to have a healer around."

His wings shivered as a breeze passed by, the tips quivering, wanting to be up in the sky and simply fly OVER the damned forest towards the goal, though he knew he couldn't. It didn't help that Livi had picked up on his touchiness when it came to the girls, but he'd glanced over that topic of conversation as if it had never been said.

He couldn't lose his temper, risking the group staying even FURTHER behind. If the group absolutely REFUSED to start moving at any pace that could be considered 'brisk' and kept ambling along like this, at the very least he could try and stave off SOME surprise attacks by being one of the first on the scene.

Spearheading a scouting group didn't seem like a bad idea, and still reeked of a leadership position, one he was eager to fill. Lately, he'd been getting wind that his reputation had suffered slightly because of his behavior. He wanted this chance to prove he wasn't a total screw-up, especially since he wanted the respect of his demonic peers. Those that didn't know him, he simply wanted to leave a good impression with. Being a grounding figure, trying to help the 'greater good' of the group seemed like a capitol way to do that. Or at the very least, the quickest.

Looking to Riley, he raised a questioning eyebrow.

"I assume you have no objections to a group going ahead to scout, that is?"

((Even = Yes, Odd = No..)

Shehk pranced about in the snow with Luce for a while, nosing the pup with her skeletal face and letting out a puffing-noise that resembled a somewhat silenced barked, but seeming a lot less noisy, overall. She did, however, soon look up to Nukpana, who seemed less happy with the whole thing, and pranced a bit more before appraising the snow before attempting to fling some towards him.

Mwa ha ha! FAILURE! But it was somewhat fun. Maybe just because she had someone to play with and she'd gotten out of having kiss someone. At least until she transformed back again. Which wouldn't be happening any time soon, based on how Shehk pranced about Nukpana's legs to see what it was Israfel had with him....

Oh.

Em.

Jee.

KITTY!! Shehk sniffed at the fluffy ball of non-threatening felinedom, ears alert, before her attention was dragged away by something else, looking a look towards Nukpana (seeming annoyed, though not by him), before turning her eyes off in another direction...

However, it seemed as though someone was getting it through their head that they needed to take care of anybody, causing the Pricolici to huff at him and tromp through the snow mightily (unfortunately, at her frozen-body' core, being a woodland creature) and snapping in Braum's general direction with disapproval, shaking her fur out before walking back over to her 'young padowan' and nudging her side as though to grab the pup's attention.

Was it time for a howling lesson?

From the shrieking call of a howl that Shehk let out, it seemed it was. Calling out to assert her domain? Possibly. Though unfortunately trees were foolish little creatures and gluttons for punishment.

If Riley was in her right mind, she would have objected heavily to Braum's idea. Letting a few stragglers head up before the entire group didn't sound safe at the moment - especially since they'd been doing so well as a group, fending off the trees. She would most certainly have objected, had she been in her right mind.

But Riley was not in her right mind.

Suuuuuuuuuuure, she drawled, her arms waving frantically in front of her. Knock yourself out. We already scouted the land from above, but if you want to walk into the forest in a small group, I'm sure you'll be fiiiiiiiiiine. I like the music you make. She adds as an afterthought, speaking of the ringtones.

And suddenly they were moving. Yay, Jericho! She clung back onto him, realizing that she was about to slide right off if she didn't.

ONWARD TO VICTORY.

Green eyes looked down at the hand a bit in surprise before he smirked faintly and took it, shaking it firmly. Though he had interesting emotions, and a need for chaos, this was an interesting guy all the same. And it never hurt to get to know other boils at the school. Mumra always said it was about connections. Also, Braum had a very good sense of style. He liked that. "Nice to meet you, Braumithras." Nodding because he did agree with scouting ahead, he took his hand back politely. "I don't think anyone truly wants to lag, just it seems things happen to cause delays. But it's getting brisk and I don't think many of the others are good with the cold. The sooner we get to Christmas Town, the sooner we can at least find something more... hospitable."

Hopefully. He looked up at the sky and the continued winds made his wings shudder more, making him stretch them out to help them relax. The piercings in his horns shifted as well and he frowned. Hopefully, this wind wouldn't get too bad and kick up more snow. That was the last thing needed; especially for some of them.

When Braum asked Riley for permission, so it seemed, his brow raised? Was she their leader? He hadn't realizing such a person had been appointed.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 16, 2010 9:33 pm

Keeping his wings as close to him as possible, Jericho realized it probably acted as some weird blanked for the person piggy backing him at the moment. His brow furrowed as he heard dog-Shehk howl out.

"Hush!" He urged her, "You might be drawing their attention."

As much a good fight appealed to him, they still had a long way to go. It was probably better that they didn't have to face too many of the trees if only so they could last longer. Besides, these creatures they've faced so far could hardly be called worthy opponents. That and they didn't bleed, which made it not as fun in his opinion.

Braum huffed. NOW Riley said it as if it was the dumbest idea in the world. When NUKPANA had suggested it, she'd taken the muscle-heads thoughts into consideration. Only now that he'd given into their way of thinking and splitting up did she agree with his PREVIOUS suggestion. Screw this. No more putting one leader above the others in order for a sense of neutrality. Nope. All leader figures were now uni-lateral. She had no more sway than him. Rolling his eyes, he pursed his lips irately.

"YOU, my dear, are the most contrite individual I have ev---no, you know what, you really aren't, I apologize. But you are DAMNED close. When someone says right, you say go left, when someone goes left, you suddenly want to take to the air. We are going now, and we are taking the Wraith with us, we'll warn you if anything more serious pops up ahead, alright?" he rattled on to Riley, tired of these tedious games. The woman he'd put his trust into, not because of race alone but because she'd seemed SO TOGETHER, had failed him, all because Israfel was an idiot. He gave a stern look towards the Siren and then whipped his stony gaze to West and Livius.

Not even looking for any indication from Corbin as to whether or not he WANTED to come with them, he ushered the Wraith to come with, giving him a very PLEADING look. Casting a glance over his shoulder, he looked directly at Shek and Nukpana.

"Make sure someone strong is heading the back of the group. Just as much as we should be warned of things ahead, we don't want anything following us," he cautioned, giving the pair a polite nod of luck as he started to stride forward, knowing at least Livius would follow him to scout. Hopefully, anyways. The other Avarice seemed pretty unpredictable, and the Wraith, while a potential fellow flock-member, may have wanted to stay. He couldn't say, really, he just wanted something to get accomplished. ANYTHING.

After hopping over another drift, Deacon thought he saw moving figures ahead. Had he finally caught up? Maybe? Another hop into the next footprint confirmed it. He'd finally found them. They were about to get an earful...

Wait. One of them was coming toward him. Oh... Oh God.

Deacon practically cowered in the hole in the snow as the drunken siren approached, grasping at the all-too-soft slush beneath his paws as he was plucked up and carried away. Though he grew tense, there was no attempt to injure Israfel... If only because he was really tired of being on the ground. The siren was offering a bit of warmth.

Although, he could really do without the screaming.

His ears were flattened back when Lucien reached out to pet him, a growl and a rise of his hackles his vain attempt to keep him away. Alas, the petting commenced anyway... Until a freaking tree spoke to him, jerking the "kitty's" attention toward it.

What the hell? How unfair was it that a freaking tree could talk but he couldn't!?

Leaping down from the siren's grasp; apparently ready to follow Nuk's command of kicking the tree's a** (do trees have asses?) he bounded through the snow and aimed a swat at the trunk of the tree.

Though, inwardly, Deacon figured it would be a miracle if he managed any damage in this form.

He wasn't sure what was going on with the one called Riley. Not that he had been paying a terrible lot of attention in the beginning, but she had seemed the... leader-ish person, he supposed. But right then, she seemed to have caught the same issue that the siren had. Was that contagious? If he was, he wanted to avoid it. At all costs. He was confused a bit as to why Braum was rather bothered by her weird behavior, but he had to concede that the fellow demon had a point. They did need to have a rather direct way to go and being yanked one way or another isn't good. Not that he could ever truly call himself a leader just yet, or ever >>, but he was used to groups being able to take many ideas at once and coming up with a plan of action.

As chaotic as his family was, that's how they managed to work for eons. Meeting Braum's gaze, he nodded a bit in agreement. When he headed off, he followed after him. He'd help scout as best he could. For the safety of the group, he'd help make sure nothing attacked from the front. He hoped that West and the other bird, he wasn't sure of his name but he thought it was Corbin, would come along as well. As he moved forward, he made sure to sweep the snow from side to side, to show a path to follow. That way, should they need to rush back to warn them, they'd at an indicator as to the way back. As long as the main group didn't go off a different way.

Forward motion was a good thing, however it was achieved - no sense bickering over who needed to do what, in Malodore's opinion! It made sure its bell was firmly tucked into its belt once more and forged into the snow. "Be well," it called out in Braum's direction, since the demon seemed fairly determined to forge out on its own. "The trees seem to approach from the back when they attack."

It did, however, give Riley an sideways glance. This was very not normal. Something must have happened while it was asleep. Once the mindflayer had sobered up... she might well regret what she was doing now. The plague doctor resolved to keep something good for sobriety on it at all times from now on.
