INDENT Upon noticing her arrival, Kaito quickly moved himself to the inside of the booth. Arina grinned setting herself down beside the young man. Kaito looked down to face Arina and asked her how her morning had been going so far. The young girl let out a deep, exhausted sigh and dropped her forehead against the table top counter with a large thud. It had been eventful to say the least but how to put it into words, that was the appropriate question. She carefully lifted her forehead from the counter and rubbed a soft spot, which she seemed to have caused injury from the fall to the table, with her palm. “Err,” Arina opened her mouth as if to speak up but quickly bit her lip, “I spent most of my time at the docks just admiring the environment and did some training later on.” It wasn’t as if he asked the entirety of her morning. For whatever reason, the cloud version of Kaito’s head and hair brought itself to the forefront of her thoughts. The girl giggled turning a light shade of red when Kaito then asked about the shop. “You have never been here before?” The young girl questioned with an odd look on her face. Was it awe, amazement, amusement or disbelief? One may never know what went through that odd girl’s mind sometimes. “Don’t you know something about ramen outside of just shops though?” The young girl questioned. She held too high of expectations. There weren’t many her age who excelled and enjoyed cooking as much as she. “Hm, what kind of foods do you enjoy? Salty, spicy, ect? I can order something for you if you like but later on, we are going to have a one-on-one about this.” Arina held her pointer finger in an upward manner with that matter of a fact look upon her face.

INDENT Arina turned around when she heard Chario barking. The excited young pup jumped onto the top of Lerry’s head causing him to slightly go off balance. Of course, the results of the young pup’s actions could have been much worse. The young boy laughed lightly asking how it was going and about the payment of the ramen shoving his hands into his pockets, which Arina assumed was a way of him suggesting that he had no money. Then, Lerry made the suggestion of doing a mission first. Well, it was a question but after the display with his pockets, Arina was sure that it had been meant more as a suggestion. Afterwards, Kaito‘s stomach growled loudly. Well, that answered Lerry‘s question for sure. Arina wasn‘t one for doing favors usually, but she felt as if today was going to be a good day. The young girl still had to make it look like she was loathing every minute. She propped herself upon her arms which rested against the tabletop looking towards Lerry with a nonchalant facial expression. “Usually the men are the ones who treat,” Arina sighed pulling out her savings from the satchel on her thigh. “I suppose that I can if you have no money,” the young girl counted her savings to make sure that she would be able to cover the expenses. ‘I suppose this is what happens when you surround yourself with boys who haven’t learned the ways of dating yet,’ Arina rolled her eyes at the thought not that she was interested in those kinds of relationships as it were.

INDENT Arina quickly replaced the sullen look which rested upon her face with a grin as the server came to take their orders. “I will have an order of tonkotsu ramen with seasoned bamboo shots, two boiled eggs, and chashu! What about you guys?” The young girl look over at the two boys momentarily before looking towards the server again. Perhaps, she had ordered too soon and the others were not ready. Well, she hadn’t even given the server a chance to speak. The girl laughed lightly. The server didn’t seem to be affected very much. She quickly wrote down the order on a small notepad she had carried with her. Arina scanned over the area quickly to notice that one of the other groups was beginning to leave. ‘Wonder where they are off to,’ She thought to herself in passing before returning her attention to the others.

"Well then lets eat. I skipped breakfast too...I think...It was a really quick morning." Lerry began scratching his head he than looked at Arina who brought up usually it is the man who paid for the meal. "True true, but I have no money. Like nothing but lint is in my pocket." Lerry pulled out his pockets and nothing but dust fell out. It was just to prove to Arian that he was indeed flat broke and was not trying to pull a fast one. Well Kaito did invite everyone out to eat here so it would only make sense if he paid. "All my money went to buying the champ here some treats." Lerry pointed up to his barking companion. He had spent what little money he had on Chario for his victory he had over Tora yesterday. Now he was flat broke. "So lets get the munching!" Lerry joined his teammates in the ramen shop ready to chow down.

After he ordered his food he would sit down at what ever table they would sit at. Lerry ate slow, he did this to savor the taste. It was truly some very tasty ramen. Lerry would Chario get a taste of the large chunks of meat the ramen was mixed with. "So what's the day looking like? What's the mission?" He asked with his eyes glancing at the two of them. He was just wondering what they had planned for the day. He knew they were going to do a mission after they ate but he just wanted to know what type of mission it was really. Although Kaito and Arina might not even know what was up either yet. But it never hurts to ask. Lerry would proceed to slurp up his food as he waited for a response. Catching Tora was a bit difficult but Lerry had expected that. He wondered what type of mission they would do this time around. Hopefully it will be a good one.

Arina had an err... Odd response to his question. Obviously her morning had to be a rough one. They went from smiles to headbutting a table. The thud from the table was a loud one. Loud enough to make the others in the restaurant look in their direction. "Uhm..." The boy sat next to the girl in embarrassment. Everyone was looking at them, and Kaito did nothing but stare back at them, giving them a look that said 'I don't know what the hell's going on, don't look at me!". She lifted her head from the wooden table, and everyone quickly turned away, acting as though they weren't looking at the girl. She rubbed her head where it had been slammed, then began speaking. “I spent most of my time at the docks just admiring the environment and did some training later on." That was all she said, but he felt like there was a lot more to the story. But after that little scene, asking her to get into detail didn't seem like a wonderful idea.

Suddenly, Arina's skin changed like she were a chameleon or something. Her face went from it's normal white self to bright red in seconds. It actually changed to the same color as her forehead, where she smacked on the table. She began giggling randomly right about the same time. "What is she laughing about?" Kaito was thrown off for a minute, then she brought up him not eating here before. "Yeah i never ate here before... Honestly I haven't ate ramen more than... three times?" Which was a surprise for where they lived. Everyone in this village ate ramen often. Minus Kaito and his family of course. Though he loved the taste of ramen, his mother didn't. So she rarely ate or cooked it. And coming to ramen shops alone wasn't any fun. Who honestly enjoyed sitting and eating by yourself? Nobody. Kaito almost felt embarrassed for not eating ramen too often. "I like a lot of food. Spicy, salty, sweet. I like it all. But yeah, if I had to pick spicy was my favorite." Spicy foods just has their own distinctive flavor that no other food could give. Just the feeling of your mouth being feeling like it was on fire would be awesome. "So yeah, just go ahead and order something spicy for me if you can." It was nice having someone who seemed familiar with ramen, because she could easily help him pick what he wanted.

Chario and Lerry joined the conversation now, and they now spoke about who was paying for the food. Arina elected herself to pay for the food, but Kaito quickly intervened. "No, don't worry about it. I'll pay for it!" It was his idea to meet here, so he was going to pay for it. The server made her way to the table where they were talking about who was going to pay. Arina quickly blurted out her order before the waitress even had a chance to speak. Though as quick as she randomly wrote the order down, she was obviously a seasoned veteran in this field of work. "Uh... I'm not too sure what I want... Arina... What do I want?" Kaito chuckled, forcing his order upon Arina. She knew ramen like the back of her hand, or at least she made it sound that way.He told her he wanted something spicy, so he couldn't go wrong making her order for him. At least he thought so. "Oh, and before you write all this up all separate, put it all on one order. I'll be paying."

Lerry then brought up missions and stuff they would be doing today. "Honestly I haven't the slightest idea.... It just depends what's up on the mission board up town. I'm sure there will be a few interesting missions posted up there. At least I hope so." Hopefully it wasn't as boring as the Tora thing. Maybe something that included finding someone or something. He didn't know. They would have to wait until they got there until they found out.

Arina smiled lightly at Kaito as he chuckled nervously forcing his order upon the young girl because he obviously lacked any knowledge about the diversity of ramen. Although, you could say that she was also happy because Kaito so openly offered to pay. He must‘ve not been too bad of a guy to offer himself up like that. Arina had to do her best in ordering for him, “My friend here will have miso ramen with a hint of chili pepper seasoning served alongside of toban jiang, negi, and naruto.” The server quickly wrote down the order and retreated back to where the preparations for the food were being made.

“I hope I did okay ordering for you,” The young girl smiled with a hint of nervousness present across her face. Afterwards, the young girl intently listened to the talk about what mission that the three of them would perform today. She hadn’t really given it any thought because honestly all the missions at their level were pretty dull. The girl tilted her head to look over towards Lerry, “Hopefully this mission doesn’t take as long as yesterdays.” The young girl let her pride down in the hopes that she might be able to get along with Lerry in the long run. Perhaps, yesterday was just a bad day for him. It never hurt to give someone the benefit of the doubt.

After awhile of waiting in awkward silence, the server came back setting the appropriate bowl down in front of each of the three young children. The young girl kept to herself as she was slow to intake the food before her. She wanted to savor the flavor because she hadn’t been to the ramen shop in quite awhile now. She stopped momentarily looking towards Kaito, “How is it?” Averting her eyes quickly, so she wouldn’t have to face him in the case that she had picked incorrectly for him.

A few minutes later, an older woman began screaming loudly. Arina jumped turning her head to face the older woman, so she was able to make out the words that she was speaking. The older woman seemed to be very upset with her arms flailing wildly, “That man stole my pocketbook! Get him! I had all of my life savings in there!” ‘What?’ the young girl thought to herself looking towards her companions. “I suppose we won’t be hitting the mission boards today?” She questioned quickly standing up ready to dart at any moment. She turned back to the owner of the place, “I will end up coming back, so save my food!” Arina winked smiling wryly.

Arina began chasing after the man in question. Hopefully, they would be able to catch him quickly with as little resistance as possible. She hadn’t wanted to make a day of this. After about ten minutes of chasing him, the group had come to the village entrance which the man seemed to be exiting from. "Damn," the young girl cursed following him outside the gate. She looked towards the stand where the gate guards usually held up, but they seemed to be absent for the time being. It was about time to eat for the day; however, they should've left at separate times. That would've made this chase so much easier. The girl sighed making her exit from the village.

What a crazy last few months this was shaping up to be. Kaito finally graduates from the academy, only to tweak his hamstring a week or two after graduation. The injury was nothing severe, it was just enough to keep him down and out of commission for a few weeks. Today was the day he'd be able to spread his wings once again, though he was going to have to take it easy on himself. Didn't want to get too wild and risk hurting himself once again. There was no way that he was going to sit another few months and watch all his classmates surpass him while he sat around and babied himself. Either way, it was time to get this day started. He slid on his black, skin tight black shirt. His right leg was bandaged up from the groin area to just a few inches above the knee to help keep the leg healthy, though this would all be covered up by his black, just below the knee shorts. Honestly he didn't want anyone to see those bandages anyways. To him that just seemed like an attention getter. And one hing was for sure, he didn't like, or want any extra attention.

After telling his mother good bye, the boy exited his house. His destination was the academy. It was time to get back at it, and to start playing catch up. Though he wasn't sure of a certain date, the Chuunin exams would be sooner than later. And he was obviously behind! Kaito was going to have to put in overtime if he wanted to even think about competing at a high level. The Chuunin exams were going to be a huge milestone in his life. He'd become a chuunin, but more importantly see how he ranked amongst the other Genin from across the world. The Kaguyan walked nervously thinking about the exam. Where would it be? How many other Genin were in it? What kind of crazy events would they be doing? So many questions he wondered about, yet he hadn't the slightest idea who to talk to about it, or more importantly how long he had until they started.

Karasuni Aburame Uchiha

Age:12/Rank:Genin/Lvl: 4

Karasuni took a sip of his tee as he sat on a boulder, the gentle breeze brushed his spiky hair and sent a tickle down his spine, He smiled as one of his little buddies peaked out from the collar of his sleeve and poked at the glass that held his tea "You getting bored in there? Well off you go then" he said with a chuckle as he watched it spread its wings and be taken by the wind another pair of eyes joining the already mass surveillance team that are his bugs in the wild. It spread in a three sixty area around him. As good as his own, nothing could escape him. Besides his bugs visual prowess they do not mind poking anything they deem unusual in his current surroundings. To say the least Kurasani trusted his parasitic bugs but he also had another ability that set him apart from the rest of the aburame or the Uchiha clan. Simply put he was able to access the copy wheel eye or better known by ninja as the Sharingan. His one tomoe sharingan granted his incredible visual prowess far beyond that of any normal eye and was able to mimick, copy or be three steps ahead of his opponent. Kurasani had measured his abilities in combat in duels within the confines of the duel academy, Now however having completed his academy training and achieved the rank of genin he was itching to taste battle in the front lines as well. Fresh out of the academy however who knew how long it would be until he was put into a live combat situation. Hopefully sooner rather then later but for now he would be content with his training and genin ranked missions.

Karasuni Aburame Uchiha

Age:12/Rank:Genin/Lvl: 4

Karasuni yawned softly as he walked among the townsfolk on occasion passing by a familiar genin or academy trainer engaging in small talk before going on about his business, His deep brown eyes often scanning the area for anything to do. It would only be a matter of time until he was placed into a cell and the wait was beginning to wear out his patience, In the back of his mind anxiety begin to set in but he knew raging would only worsen the matter and ultimate impact the time it would take to be put into a cell with the recent attack of a konoha building the village police have been on high alert and ninjas have been sent out in high volumes to capture the culprit. Karasuni gazed into the infinite clear blue sky as he pondered his next move "Well it does not mean I cannot do genin rank missions within the village on my own at least" With that said he made his way to the mission office to find something to do while he waited. As he approached the building he was greeted by other ninjas and Karasuni returned it with an acknowledging nod as he stepped into the shade of the building and shortly after into the confines of the building as well. There stood a desk attached wall to wall with two leaf ninja ready to serve any combat ready ninja. Karasuni waved and smile "Hey, Got anything I could do around here?" he asked they looked down at him and thought about it for a moment pulling a white sheet of paper with genin ranked missions he assumed " seeing as your are not part of a ninja cell as of it we can't send you out but there are missions in konoha it self you can pick. Here pick one you like" He said softly. Karasuni nodded as he took the sheet of paper and gazed at it.

Karasuni Aburame Uchiha

Age:12/Rank:Genin/Lvl: 4

Karasuni frowned as he went through the last of missions he was able to do presently and it seemed old miss Herman had lost her prized cat, Well then who better to find her cat then Karasuni himself “Alright then! I will take the case of the missing cat as my first mission!” he said with a fist raised high. They looked at him and chuckled to themselves. Karasuni ignored it and filled out the appropriate paper work and took off to old Miss Herman’s. He found the town home within minutes as the address was recorded deep into his cerebrum upon first glancing on it on the sheet of paper. He leaped onto her window and cried out “Miss Herman!!” He said with glee “Are you home!!!” He called out in an outside voice within seconds a fluffy women wearing a flowered shirt and loose pants came into view a blueberry muffin in her right hand the scent caught to him before she did and his mouth watered but held firm “My name is Karasuni!I am here to find your missing cat! Do you have a picture perhaps?” He said with a slight chuckle as he traced his thumb softly under the skin of his nose. “Of course I do deary! That cat is always getting into trouble god knows what she has been up to lately been missing three whole days and I just had to have someone reliable find her! What if she is stuck on a roof top or wondering the wilderness!” Karasuni could feel the worry in her tone and decided to put everything he had into finding her cat. Receiving the picture he gazed into it it was orange cat with white stripes coursing through its body. He took a mental snap shot as the image of the feline was saved deep in his mind “I will bring your cat back no problem!” he said as he took off leaping onto the side of the nearest building and tracing higher until he reached the roof top “Here goes nothing” as he spread out both his arms and immediately an array black bugs swarmed out of his body spreading out in all direction in search of the missing cat “With my bugs this will only take a second” He said with a grin as he spoke to himself.

Karasuni Aburame Uchiha

Age:12/Rank:Genin/Lvl: 4

Karasuni waited a few minutes as his billions of eyes scoured the city in search of the missing kitten, though he was confident in his bugs, Karasuni decided to contribute to the search as he leapt off the flat roof top and landed softly on the ground as he walked casually down the road peeking into alleys and behind or under dumpsters for the missing cat. To no avail his attempts were deemed futile but finally there. As if developing a third vision his eyes moved across the city and the cat came into his view. Karasuni chuckled as he broke into sprint, cutting through the alley ways and over fences. Karasuni stopped half a mile and from there went back to his casual walk knowing the cat. He had the cat in his sight hopefully she would be, now that he thought about it properly he never asked the gender of the feline that he was getting ready to capture or the name. As the cat came into the view of his eyes he zoomed in on the collar “Deadulus” He said in a low whisper. So it was a male cat. Karasuni stopped a few yards away “ Here deadulus, Come here boy” The cats ears perked up and it intently peered over his way before returning to sniffing the floor “ Do you not want to come home boy? Come on now. Let’s go feed you some cat n** or something” Karasuni as he came within arm’s reach he extended his right arm out to grab it’s fur but to his surprise it turned leapt onto his face leaving a scratch on his right cheek. In a gust of surprise he fell backwards on his bottom landing hard on the cement floor as Deadulus leapt off his face and took off with a speed Karasuni had never seen from a cat. Karasuni’s mouth open wide both in shame and surprise at how a dumb creature outsmarted him and got away from me. After a moment he stood up and patted himself down “you have to be kidding me” He said finally. As he casually begin to walk once again towards the cat location

"Come on, Honda, lets move! If we hurry up, we might be able to get out of the Village before anyone suspects!" The robber said, bag of priceless village treasures slung over his neck. Honda replied with a simple nod of the head. He was a simple man of very few words.

These two are the infamous robbers Honda and Hayao, the Goutou brothers. They may not have been ninja, but they were well established thieves. Their bounty was in the hundred thousands, and they were wanted across four nations!

Hayao was the smarts of the duo, as well as the dexterous one. He would do the scouting, the marking, and the initial infiltration. His brother, Honda, was the muscle as well as the trap-disarmer. He was the guy who could break locks, disarm traps (both physical and ninja-made), and he was the guy who carried the loot. He was a fast mover, no matter what kind of cargo he was hauling!

Tonight was a big night for them. This job was going to pay their retirement. Ancient weapons and artifacts from the Hidden Leaf would sell for millions on the market. They had targeted the shinobi armory, marked the loot they would and could steal, knocked out the guards, broke into the armory, and bagged the treasure. They were on the last leg of their mission; they had to get out!

As they neared the entrance to the outside, a cool breeze washed over their faces, moist with sweat. The night awaited them just at the end of that hallway, and through the double doors!

Wait- why were the open?

Hayao stopped first; Honda followed suit. Honda looked to his brother for guidance, but Hayao was too stunned with fear even take a breath.

"H-h-honda?" He began, eyes locked on the doorway, "Did you leave the door open when we came in?" His brother responded with a slow shake of the head. "Damn."

From the rafters above their head spoke a voice. The voice was young, male, and smoothe as a match-stick flame. "Sorry guys, I guess I was born in a barn, huh? I didn't mean to ruin the surprise."

The pair heard the soft patter of feet landing just twenty or so feet behind them, followed by a tinny tinkle from a bell. In fear, the spun around to see a young man. He was slim and pale with black hair and unusual white eyes. He had on a weird looking hat with a bell at the end of a tail. The young man was dressed not in ninja uniform, but in fuzzy, black pajamas and a pair of green, angry looking Shishi Lion slippers.

"Surprise or not-" The young man began, scratching the inside of his ear with his pinkie, "You two goons woke me up. Do you realize what time it is? Hm?" The duo exchanged a look. They were simply bewildered by the young man.

"Save it, I'll tell you. It's one twenty four; oh-one-two-four. I want to be sleeping right now, but instead, I have to deal with you, bums. Drop the crap and stick your hands up, alright?" He held his wrists near his waist, hands in a finger-gun formation.

Honda was the first to laugh, Hayao followed suit, "Ya think you can scare us with a pair of finger-guns, kid? Ya' had us going there for a sec- but we don't have time for ya' games. We're the Goutou Brothers, and we're taking off with this loot whether ya' like it or-"

Poor Hayao- the foolish crook's monologue was cut short by a deafening explosion right below his feet. Screaming, Hayao flew straight up in the air, and can crashing down onto his face; down for the count.

The young ninja brought the tip of one of his 'guns' to his mouth, and made an audible "Woosh" sound, as if he was blowing off smoke, "You may be the Goutou Brothers, but I'm goddamn Hisaki Tenjo."

Honda, in a fit of rage, attempted to bull rush the young ninja, but was met with a similar fate. Just in front of him was a small explosion that sent him sailing through the open doorway and into the street in front of the Ninja Armory.

"Thank you, have a nice day." Eyes dark with sleepiness, Hisaki walked out the front door and looked to the quiet night sky. He pointed up towards the moon and effortlessly shot a red sparkling flare from his fingertip. The flare crackled and hissed and smoked in the night sky like a dragon that had taken flight.

By time ninja-backup arrived to arrest the pair of criminals, Hisaki was fast asleep on the stone stoop of the Armory. No one dared wake him, lest they get what the Goutou brothers got that night. Debriefing could wait until morning, they supposed...

Description: Freelancing and adventuring a thorn in the side of ninja operations. Hisaki has been given special orders to assemble a team of wandering genin for future missions. Word from the higher ups is that there is a genin by the name of Natsuki roaming the countryside.

It is Hisaki's job to convince young Natsuki to join his Squad.

"So, who wants to wake him?" One messenger-nin asked. He mouth was dry- he swallowed in anxiety, and it left him was incredible discomfort throughout his neck.

"Not me, not me, not me!" Another said, his knees clattering, teeth chattering. His messenger goggles clinked at the end of his twitching nose.

"Well, I don't want to be at the wrong end of his morning exercises- I call noses!" The third ninja desperately put a finger to his nose. The second ninja, Messenger Nin Number Two, grabbed his nose quickly. Messenger Nin Number One was left, nose untouched. His head sank in depression. Although it was his job to deliver he message, he knew this could very well be the end for him.

You see, Hisaki had an odd reputation. Specifically, Sleeping Hisaki had an odd reputation. Asleep, Hisaki was a lion. He rested as peacefully as a lamb, but if he were to be awoken out of sync- watch out. Smoldering passive aggression was his claw, and fiery ninjutsu was his fang. Before his wake-up time, claw and fang thirsted for blood.

And here, unlucky Messenger Nin Number One had to awaken that beast for which the rumors told. Poor Messenger Nin Number One, he had to-

"What in hell do you three want?"

Like cockroaches, Ninja Two and Three cowered down the steps of the Armory. One shivered in his boots, "I-I have a mission for you, s-sir."

A brisk breeze filled the air as Jigun walked out of the academy, his ninja head band held firmly in hand. It had been three years since he first walked through those doors and many things had changed... Shung had found different people to prey upon and now left Jigun alone completely, whenever they passed each other in the hallways they ignored each other but an air of tension and blood-lust held firmly for both of them. Kiyo on the other hand, as friendly as he tried to be, became nothing more then a rival to Jigun, a person he had to beat in every aspect, something he tried to do thoroughly, but he simply couldn't... only in the realm of physics and other sciences did he excel where Kiyo did not.

But that was not all that happened in the few years, Jigun had grown in both height and size. He was still skinny but now he was covered in a thin layer of proudly trained muscles, also he had grown out his hair and styled it in a messy, spiked up fashion. Yes, Jigun had definitely grown into a person he could be proud of...

Tying the headband squarely to his forehead, he pushed on his sunglasses and adorned his short sleeve jacket before walking out into the village, ready to begin his adventure as a shinobi of the leaf.

A lengthy sigh came from the man as he slide into the booth and shifted over to make room for the two other shinobi that accompanied him. "So what is good to eat here?" Sai questioned, his eyes scanning the room for the nearest waiter or waitress. It wasn't long before a tall woman with curling brown hair noticed the trio and rushed over, her arm baring menus for each of them. Smiling and pleasant, she was thanked and sent away with a request for a pitcher of ice water and a bottle of sake specifically for Sai. "No more of the drink for you, my good sir. Though you are most welcomed, monk." He grinned widely at them both, pulling a menu to himself as he did so.

"So, forgive me if I'm being forgetful but was his name again?" He asked, leaning towards the sobering man, a frown crossing his features for the moment before returning his attention back to his menu. "Ah, and if I maybe so bold to ask... what exactly are your intentions? That is for the immediate future and of course, ya know." With a pause he raised his eyes to look at either one of them before resting them on the waitress who was currently bent over to clean the table across from them. "With me. To be honest, I find it quite odd that a man of your stature was so seemingly eager to join a team with two men you'd only just met and have no knowledge of. In fact, it's quite alarming.." As Sai rambled on, the fingers of his left hand stretched out to draw a chopstick out from the folds of a napkin and pull it into the folds of his own sleeve. It was an action he'd hope would go unnoticed but the body was clumsy and unaccustomed.

Hajime waved his hand, "Water is fine, thank you." He expounded on the subject, "It's a bit early for sake, for most people- and it's always early for a monk like myself. I abstain from alcohol in all its forms."

The monk glanced over at the drunk, "I didn't catch one, actually. What is your name?"

After receiving the answer, he returned to Sai, "My intentions are simple, Sai. I seek to do right by the world, to make it a better place." He locked onto Sai's eyes, then sensed motion. He glanced down at what the young-old man's hand was doing. It was hiding a chopstick.

"You expect too much from me, sir. I am but a humble monk, and a stranger to this town. I team up with you because... If I am to be honest... I feel as though our meeting was not mere coincidence. I do not believe in coincidence. I feel fate brought us to that lobby today."

In a moment, the waitress returned with his rolls. They were quick to make- and an appetizer for most. Hajime clasped his hands together when they were set down in front of him. He said a silent prayer, then whispered, "Itadakimasu." His cucumber 'kappa' rolls, while small in size, came with some pickled ginger and wasabi. He dabbed the roll in the wasabi and took a bite, enjoying the sizzling spice. Back at the monastery, they ate mostly locally growing herbs and fresh vegetables. Rarely did they get seaweed from the ocean to make rolls with. Even more rare was anything of significant spice like the green paste on the platter.

He looked back up at the man sitting across from him, puzzling over the hidden chopstick. Hajime picked up his platter, and tilted it across the table, "Sai-san, do you like the Kappa Roll? The ones they serve here are quite good. Very fresh. Why don't you try one?"

Hajime didn't trust ninja as far as he could through them- and his upper body strength left much to be desired. This offering was threefold. Firstly, it would serve to bring the chopstick back into view. Secondly, it would appear to be an offering of friendship. Thirdly, and most importantly, the platter would provide a shield- should that strange shinobi try anything funny.
