Basil had shifted and was just looking away from Kilometer. I don't get what his deal is. What is he expecting? Then she noticed a new boil come over and continue the tail discussion, oh great, he had a tail too. Basil felt left out with the tailed talk, simply cause she didn't have one, and was around three that did. Not to mention cast aside on talking, but she can handle that.

But Basil looked at Kilometer a bit after his gaze moved, careful to only make it the corner of her eyes and hidden behind her hair. He is awfully quite isn't he? and the gas-mask block half of his face making it near impossible to read his emotions...She had heard him talk before, and it makes an odd sound, maybe he didn't like hearing it, that could be it, right?

She then saw some little gnomes come in, odd they weren't saddened or shaken by the captain gnome thing.Ooh yay! Food! Basil would love that distraction! Wait a minute, the pesky gnomes burnt my food! Basil looked hungry after shown the food and she hugged her stomach, never had she missed a meal, she even ate poisonous things than starve, but her natural ability isn't working in this train, best not try it...but you don't know until you do...Basil got up and walked up as sheepishly as the gnomes looked.

"Uhm" She felt some stares."Hi, is it okay that I try some? I am pretty staving, and who knows, it could be good..."She sighed"I'm glad you guys brought some food at all, so...er thanks?" She put up a nice smile, and it felt odd to her.

After some time pondering the idea of an evil penguin he nodded, that would be interesting. But they were small, though this reindeer was larger then it should have been. So if the penguin were larger it's wings, which didn't aid it in flight, could make some very good weapons.

"A penguin, if large like the reindeer was, would be something I wouldn't want to fight." Not to mention it's beak which would hurt.

"After today you have two friends at least Eracs." So saying that Alerick nodded his head with a bright and sunny smile in place.

"Likely deer though, which may or may not be better then a penguin would be. I don't think either would be good though, all things considered." No, neither would be good. To be hassled and attacked by anything, especially with no Fear or natural abilities, was not good at all. "I wonder what'll happen the rest of this trip...I mean it could get worse, I'm sure. Though I do hope not...I'm already jangled from the reindeer. But no, I don't think it's over, as much as I wish I didn't think so." Too nervous and shaken from the trip, so far, Alerick was hardly acting like his usual full of energy self. Rather this was more close to who he really was...though he still was exhibiting more energy then he normally put into things when alone.

Maybe in time, and not in a situation like this, he'd be comfortable enough to act like his proper self, and not like a nervous teenager or like some high energy bouncing ball of a werewolf. If he could achieve that, which he'd yet to ever do, he'd bee honestly happy.

"Well...no food only makes this worse. Should go to sleep when we start getting hungry, sleep through the hunger." It was an idea which made sense, not something he'd ever done before though.

"I did hear about the Sandy Claws and reindeer from my mother once, when I was little. A story she'd tell. I can't remember it well though, but I am sure he had a herd of reindeer...." So was the reindeer which had tormented them connected to the Sandy Claws somehow?

"I hope once this is over we can all continue to be friends." Despite what they each were. He liked having friends, a lot of them...the more the better.

"What do you think Draven, think this is the last of the bad luck were having? Or more to come?"

Amrita flushed, pleased with the compliments that Lizzy was giving her. She really didn't know how she managed to do it, but she was very happy to help, regardless! It made her feel all sorts of important. Reversed hands gripped onto the Demoness' for a moment, still hesitant on the whole hugging thing as well - well, at least for now.

"W-well I'm glad you're okay! Umm, we're okay too." The Vetala told her, gesturing back to the Hunchback and the Reaper she had been talking to earlier. Well, not talking, more like being vaguely terrified. But that thought was lost! The Hunchback didn't motion anything more about trying to remove her limbs, and the Reaper was also on her good list for being nice AND not outright agreeing with the Patchwork. Plus, she had Lizzy to protect her now, hurray for the power of friendship!

"Um, why not come join us over there?" Amrita suggested, absently taking one of Lizzy's hands to lead her back over to where the Hunchback and Reaper were; not that she knew their names or anything. "At least...with a crowd?" It was safer that way, right?

Then, she stared at the gnome and the food cart, which passed nearby. She looked down at her stomach...could she even try to eat it? Well...might as well! Still holding one of Lizzy's hands, Amrita paused for a moment at the cart. "Umm, may I have a small plate too?" Charcoal was fine, it wasn't her favourite but hey, chances were she wouldn't taste it!

Well they could call her a stuffy elitist if they wanted but Sin was not going to eat that burnt slop. How dare they even try and pawn it off on them, if they had any shame they would march it right back where it came from and find them something actually edible. Luckily Junko was offering to share, and while it probably wasn't the usual four star faire that Sin was used to it wasn't burned either. She smiled at Junko and rolled her eyes at 'Her' she even lifted her hand and made a mimicking motion 'blah blah blah'. She would have told Junko to just give 'her' the charred stuff she she would shut it, but she had a feeling her friend was already on it.

"Sure I'd love some, I'm starving and I'm certainly not going to eat that STUFF." She huffed and looked offended again before relaxing. "I'm glad you don't mind sharing, I'll have to treat you to dinner when we get to...uhh...wherever it is we're going..." Well now where were they going? She felt kind of silly not knowing, but hey when Hellma Shox said to get on the train, she didn't ask where or why or when or how...she just got her pretty pert butt on the train!

Junko couldn't help but giggle at Sin as she mocked Her, pressing her fingers to her lips. She could make fun of her! Her hair was lifeless which meant She couldn't hit or pinch or punish Junko in some way! She gave a tiny nod of agreement to Sin's words, already digging through her sleeves. What did she have...bento box, chips...sushi--ow! Was that one still alive?! Oops. Hmm? What was this crinkly bag here? There were so many, Junko couldn't remember what was what. She pulled it from her sleeve and settled back down in her seat, looking to find she'd brought out a bag of cookies. Oh! Goodie!

..Oh hey! Junko could actually eat these! Her eyes widened as her face practically lit up with excitement, opening the cookie bag and offering it up to Sin and the others as she picked out a cookie and nibbled at it happily. Hmm, where were they going? That was a good question! Obviously this was a field trip, but to where? "Maybe we're going to the human world? I've never been there before." Though this train was decorated...for Christmas? And the reindeer? But no...no that couldn't be related to where they were going.

Could it?

Peace and quiet. That's all Gabrian seemed to want at the moment, and seeing as how they were probably not even half way through the journey (woe... oh woe), he was pretty sure he wasn't going to get any peace or quiet. He was swiftly deciding that he wasn't particularly fond of trains. Or rides. Or reindeer. He was going to have to add those to his mental list list of things he wasn't particularly fond of, which seemed to grow every time he left his dorm room.

Feeling particularly grim after the strange fight, the nix turned away briefly from the racket in the train, his gaze following the blurry landscape as he looked out the window, having propped his head up by placing an elbow on the seat arm.

Unfamiliar voices talking about food slowly dragged him out of his self-reverie and Gabrian finally looked up as the gnomes pulled up a cart. His interest picked (anything food related was usually welcomed, as far as the nix was concerned), he pushed himself into a polite seating position, leaning over the back of his seat so he could wave the gnomes over, "I would like some of that, please," he might be a demon, yes, but he actually had a very strange taste where food was concerned; after all, human myth said that the nix's taste in food was... interesting, at best, if not macabre. Something about wet snuff, vodka, blood and drowned, wet black animals. As such, Gabrian wasn't going to shy away from trying anything and everything, at least once, "And thank you in advance."

He glanced at Junko and Sin, arching a curt brow, "I don't know. I wouldn't.... dis it, as they say, without at least having tried it," he drawled out. He was idly begining to wonder if only Junko's er... whatever it was, and him were going to be the only ones to eat this. At least until Basil pointed out she wanted some too, and a few others seemed to jump in on the notion. Not that it really mattered, seeing as how the could all feed directly from FEAR, but still.

Lizzy leaned to her side a little to look at who the ghoul was gesturing at, and gave the two boils she saw a slight dip of her head as greeting; she had noticed the hunchback boil looking at Amrita a moment ago, but she didn't realize that they had been sitting together. Then again, she had been spacing out a little through the trip...

"I would love to!" Lizzy beamed, her grip on Amrita's hand tightened a little, glad for the extra company - the train ride was getting rather wild, and being in a group sounded like a good idea... Part of her couldn't help but feel that the rabid reindeer is just one of many, and that they might attack again in the duration of the trip.

As she followed her friend towards where the Hunchback and Reaper were, the appearance of the food catering gnomes made her frown a little; weren't some of them trying to look up the skirts of the ghouls who were trying to grab the shiny object from earlier? She had half a mind to go punt one for even attempting to do so! When they confessed that they had burnt the food, however, she could barely control herself from punting one of the food catering gnomes - food is a luxury that she enjoy, although it doesn't do anything. The thing that actually stopped her from doing so was Amrita's comment.

While she was aware that the different races prefer different foods, Lizzy couldn't help looking surprised at her decision to take some of the burnt... Stuff.

Draven smiled, even though he was worried. The enthusiasm of Eracs was catching, as was the friendliness of Alerick. On the bright side, he had made two new friends today, and living so far was indeed a good thing, as Eracs had said. Draven looked out the window when Eracs mentioned the train was moving. All in all, it would have been a nice trip if that deer hadn't shown up.
Still, there was an uneasiness. Perhaps it was residual stress from the reigndeer attack. Or the thought that the other cars were in trouble, or that there could be more reigndeer at all. No matter how he looked at it, that prospect didn't bode well. He nodded as he listened to Alerick. He made some good points.

The burnt meal disappointed Draven. He didn't really want to eat a burnt mess, he liked his food fresh and hardly cooked usually. He was hungry. Sure, he would be alright without food....but he would still be hungry. Oh, well. He figured there wasn't too much he could do about it.

"Sleeping through the hunger does make sense," he said. "However, if you guys are right, and there are more of those reigndeer...then where are the others? I dunno if I can sleep with the possibility that there are more waiting to phase in here and wreak havoc." Draven knew worrying about it wasn't going to help...but he had always been told to be vigilant.
"If they are connected to the Sandy Claws...why are they attacking us?" he wondered. He remembered a bit of the old stories from when he was younger...but he didn't think he had heard one where Sandy's reigndeer attacked anyone.

"I don't know. I suppose we will just have to see what happens next." He hoped the deer and burnt food were the end of the bad luck....if they were lucky, their destination wouldn't be far. He laughed a little. What was it he had heard once....Luck comes in waves?

A thought struck him. "You guys don't think things like this happen on all train rides, do you?" He didn't know; this was his first time on a train.

Sin grinned as she shared a laugh with Junko, well at least she was among friends that made this train ride less hellish. Oh cookies! She liked Junko even more now, Sin had a sweet tooth for sure. She happily took one and ate it carefully, slowly, savoring it. Then she sighed happily and licked her lips to ensure there were no stray crumbs marring her appearance. She glanced around frowning as she realized her lipstick was probably kicked into some corner in all the fray. Ah well, she would just have to do without.

She glanced at Gabrian and gave a small shrug of her shoulders. "To each their own..." She murmured softly, but she obviously didn't think the food edible. She would have used her natural ability to give herself a little boost, but the train prevented that it seemed. She settled back and then looked at Junko curiously.

"I don't think so...I mean I don't have a passport, do you? I thought they were pretty strict about needing one before we could go the human world. I've never been there but it sounds like it's a wild place, a mess of human emotions just ripe for the...oh sorry I guess I'm still a little worked up from the fight." She pushed her hair back and sighed softly.

Christof, not one to eat much, if anything at all, ignored the cart the gnome brought in. It was other people's problems if they were hungry. He glanced up to Johan, brows furrowed as he held up the corpse-juice-sticky card for Johan to see (not touch) before pointing to the "Seafear" on the text with a confused expression. Maybe this Reaper knew more about this mysterious company? The girl with the unnervingly backwards appendages was returning with another demon, and he quickly palmed the card once Johan hopefully got a long enough look, ready to slip it in his pocket again lest someone try to take it from him.

As he scanned for Amrita and her friend, his eyes once again found themselves drawn to the seductive demon surrounded by all the boys. As Sin flipped her hair, it seemed to move in slow motion, shimmering as though under a spotlight in the Hunchback's imagination. His hand hung, still gripping the card as it hovered not quite at his pocket, eyes half lidded as he watched her giggle and chit chat with her many many friends. What was her name? He'd find out her name. Somehow. When he was brave enough to go over there. Which wasn't right now.

Amrita waited as patiently as possible, but after a while she gave up on the whole food thing, she wasn't that hungry anyway! Besides, after the Reindeer attach she was more than eager to get herself and her Demoness friend into a closer group. Sure there were people around, but the two boils seemed nice; even the Hunchback, surprisingly. Though she was still a little hesitant of him...what if he was the type to carry a saw on his person?! That hunch was not a hunch, it was a built in bag.

Bypassing the food with a shake of her head, Amrita tugged Lizzy over to where she had been before, to where Christof and Johan still were.

"Umm...This is Lizzy!" She explained to the boils, thinking it proper to do introductions...of course, that made her remember that she didn't know the names of the boils, either! OR WORSE, she never gave them HER name! How terribly rude of her! "AH!" Flushing darkly at her mistake, the Vetala dropped her gaze to the ground. "Ah...um...I-I'm Amrita." Bad Amrita, being rude and not introducing herself first!

Winston had been curled up in his seat, fiddling with the curious new accessory, still unsure of what it was doing, and far too freaked out from nearly getting the fear sucked right out of him by a monster deer. The others were chattering but he, strangely, didn't have any inclination to join. It seemed getting attacked did horrible things to his usual cheery nature. He could have killed for a proper cup of- oh, there it was. The little gnomes passed with a food cart and he leaned to the isle and got himself a cup of tea, not as hot as he liked it, but it was tea and he desperately needed a cup.

Back in his seat he pulled his feet up into the seat next to him, no one currently occupying it. It seemed no one wanted to 'hang out' with the new kid that nearly died from something stupid like a ghost reindeer of all things. He smiled as he took a sip from the tiny plastic cup. "Bloody brilliant this," he was speaking to no one in particular, mumbling most to himself. A good cup of tea, which this was not, but it would do, was always something he could go for. Any proper British haunt worth his salt liked a good cup of tea. Especially before meal time.

He raised slightly in his seat, looking around at the groups of students that had formed, curious as to who had actually snatched up whatever the reindeer had dropped when it vanished.

If only she could...NO! But one..or a few little rubs of the ears...Candlejack! No. She blinked slowly and managed to pull her gaze away from the striped kitty. Of course that just meant that she was watching Kilo. And his tail. Holy Jack! Did he just make each tip flick separately?! The she-wolf looked down at her single tail. How much more of a pain was a tail that was split at the end?

LW sighed and gave up trying to distract herself. It wasn't working. If she happened to stand and rub the kitty's adorable ears, well...she'd apologize for it later. But she would refrain from doing so for as long as she could. Maybe a new distraction was in order? Those violet eyes flickered up to Kilo again. She actually took the chance to really notice the gas mask. Head tilted, she was about to ask when the sound of gnomes speaking about 'food' attracted her attention.

Oh sweet! They were getting food? She was a little hungry now that she thought about it. Something nice and warm and...burnt?! If she'd had ears, they would have been drooping. Well that sucked. So much for a meal. She was surprised that Basil asked for some, though. Maybe the ghouls stomach was stronger than the she-wolf's.

Well, that meant she could ask her question of dead-cat-thing...Kilo! At least she hadn't said it out loud again. "What's with the gas mask, Kilo?" Nothing but genuine curiosity was in her gaze.

( @ StaticSLEEPER, since Winston looks lonely and Quarria fails at getting into conversations normally. )

It would be rude not wait for an answer from the reaper she'd approuched, but it seemed that food had arrived. And it smelt burnt. It didn't look like she suceeded at getting the icy Reaper's attention anyway, so she looked over to where the food was and murmured quietly, "I'll be back in a minute, grabbing some food." to no one in general, and made her way over to the food cart.

Everything on the plates was seared to a substance not unlike charcoal, it seemed. A lot of the other students seemed to be shying away from the burnt stuff, but Quarria didn't particularly see anything wrong with it. She was a dragon, after all (and they ate a lot fo things that had been reduced to mere smudges of burnings), and It wouldn't be the first time she'd eaten something that was roasted into ash. (Her older brother's attempt at flame breath as a youngling had once reduced their dinner to cremated llama. She'd ate it, too.) "I'll take a plate or two." She said to the gnomes, picking up some of the burned meals and looked about the train cart.

She noticed a ghostly, and somewhat dog-like, boy toying with a necklace-like thing, and realized he was the first person she'd seen on the train who wasn't engaged in a conversation already. Maybe he could tell her what had happened. Sliding her way around the other groups, she made it to where he was drinking some tea. "Excuse me..." She started, not sure how to start a conversation like this. "But would you mind telling me what has happened on this train? I was taking a nap and...well, I missed everything, it seems."

((You are my favorite person TT A TT No one wants to talk to almost-dead boy. Apologies for my horrid British accent typing, which I'd forgotten in the previous posts, given that he hasn't really spoken much.))

Winston raised his head as a voice popped up near him. Oh, oh they were actually talking to him. Were his tail solid, instead of predominately smoke, it would have been making a rather embarrassing thumping against his seat. regardless his ears perked up and he smiled. His spare hand dropped the suspicious star around his neck and waved. "Napping? Tha's impressive." It truly was.

He moved his feet aside, patting the seat next to him invitingly for the girl to sit. "There was this old mate, he went on about some minipet catchin' techniques and everyone threw some stuff. He levitated out'a the roof of the train afterward. This gnome guy, thinkin' he was important givin' the size of his hat. He died mentionin' something about a Trail Chaser. Still have no bloody idea what that is. Stop me if I'm losin' ya 'love," his accent was still think and British, though he had gotten better at remembering his 'h's and most of his 'g's. He was also talking drastically slower than he used to, almost as a normal person's rate by now. "But after he died, he died by the by, a ghost reindeer showed up and caused some mayhem," a pause to take a sip from his rapidly cooling swill of a teacup, "then tried ta kill me. Obviously no one is too shook up abou' that. A teacher ran in and took it down and gave me this thing to provide some spare Fear 'till mine comes back."

He smiled pleasantly, adjusting his scarf again and pointing at the star necklace for emphasis. Once seen though he finally tucked it safely into the scarf and under his vest to keep it from getting lost or snapped off. As far as he was concerned it was rather important, thus something to tuck away instead of flaunt. "Ah'm impressed ya slept through it all."
