s**t. Did they terminate you or did they have to let you go? Because the latter can get you unemployment benefits. What state do you live in? I could look into different programs that might be able to help you out in the meantime like TANF.
emotion_omnomnom More like laid off due to lack of funding...or more like they can't budget worth crap. Every every year contractors have to take a butt load of furlough days at the end of the year while we watch them waste hundreds of thousands of dollars on external designers and DiretTV and some company in Mexico. Plus hiring new people and this year the furlough days started in the first quarter instead of the last (6 days in March a whole week's worth of pay and to add on to this it was going 5 until I saw the an e-mail at the last minute saying that we needed to take another furlough day). Now funding has run out and all projects are on hold until next year (big surprise
rolleyes )
On top that management stopped listening to reason and simply barked orders including showing the client something that was not really ready to be presented to the client. I made sure he didn't get the chance to say goodbye to me turned it in walked away never really liked the guy, back stabbing eel. He kept saying the lead of our team was doing terrible work, for no god damn reason! The guy has been working there for years bent over backwards and inside out to please him and THIS is how he's rewarded?!
Word of advice don't work for AT&T they truly do not have their s**t together. Hence why I said, "I'm glad it's over"
I have to have received my last paycheck before I can apply for unemployment benefits. I'm living in the state of GA pretty close to Atlanta.
