Hans frowned immediately when Kevin declined to taste his German dish. Retracting the fork, Hans popped it into his own mouth and went quiet for a moment. That is until Kevin explained himself. Oh so he just didnt like the taste of sauerkraut. Why didnt he say so! "Ach nein ist okay. You schould have jsut said you didnt like die sauerkraut in die first place. I understand ist not fur everyvone." Hans said gently. "Half of mein family likes ist.. die other half doesnt. Ist veird. Aber vhat can you do? I suppose ist ein acquired taste, ja?" Hans said with a smile. "So.. how have ztings been goingt? Any interesting cases? Vhat about die home life?" Hans asked gently.

-Spring 1st Year 5- Una was heading to the Inn to meet up with River. They were just going to meet up for a simple lunchtime meal. Una had been busy with her online classes in college, but now the end of the school year would be winding down soon enough. Exams would start and she would have free time. In the meantime and while Una was on break for her lunch from the Magic shop. Una wanted to take some time to herself and spend some time with her friends. Una looked at her cellphone for the time. It was near midday, River would be just inside. Who knew the girl was working here? Una was about to enter the Inn when a rather tall man, garbed in a heavy coat, gloves, boots and a scarf came walking towards her. He must be new.. Una thought to herself before she shook her head. She put her hand on the door to the Inn and was about to turn it when for whatever reason she looked back to the tall man. ____ Aleksey had found his way out of the forest, by following a bunny no less. Before he hit the main road to town the bunny had darted away before he could say hello to it. Still it was a nice day and that wasnt something to frown about. Aleksey still had a few sunflowers with him, ones he had picked from his farm, which he was completely lost as to where it was now. One sight after another caught the Russian's unique eyes. Eventually he came upon the Cafe and now a cute woman was standing outside of it. He smiled to her but she turned away before he could say anything. Aleksey was about to frown when a croaking noise stopped him in his tracks. RIIIIIIBIIT~ Croooak~ The noise came again and Aleksey followed the sound to a bush besides the Cafe. Kneeling down, Aleksey parted the bush only to find an adorably FAT toad staring back at him. "Oh! Pryvet, you are the one to be making the noise?" Aleksey said in his Russian accent. He smiled to the Toad, only to have it croak again and hop out of the bush besides him. ____ Una now had her eyes locked on Aleksey. "Okay.. die veirdo is talking to ein frog.. ja. Ztats normal." Una rolled her eyes and shook her head. She opened the door and slipped inside the Inn. "Guten tagen! River? Ist Una." Una said cheerfully, forgetting about mister weirdo outside.

River had been waiting inside the inn for a little while, all ready to have a nice lunch with her friend Una~ Since Zhi moved away, she had been spending quite a bit of time with the cute German girl. And she had been looking forward to this particular meeting all day, as was evident by her appearance. Her hair was tied up into a ponytail and she was still wearing her waitress uniform. Yup, she had just been working! Actually, technically she was still on the clock, but it had been a slow day, and Alex wouldn't mind, as long as she stayed out of the kitchen. So she had taken an impromptu break to wait for her friend.
Soon enough the door opened and in walked a blonde. River's face lit up instantly as she recognized her friend, before hurrying over to grab Una's hands in greeting. "Una~ I'm so glad you could make it! You look cute today!" she chirped cheerfully, looking the girl over before settling into a satisfied smile. What a lucky woman she was, being friends with such cute girls.
After greeting Una, River removed her hands from the other's, and instead linked arms. "Alex just added a few new things to the menu. I say we order them all and give them a try," she proposed before turning to walk back outside towards the restaurant's separate entrance.

-Spring 1st Year 5- "Danke so do you River. Your hair ist cute vhen its up." Una said with a smile, her and her Uncles English had improved over these two years. But their German accents were still thick. Una smiled to River and well she couldnt really follow River out, she was more lead out of the Inn to head to the restaurants separate entrance. Once they were outside Una stopped them. "You know you have ein veirdo outside your Inn." Una said as she pointed to Aleksey. "Anyvays.. ja ztat sounds gut. Vill order everyzting ztats new." Una smiled to River. _____ Aleksey was busy trying to catch the toad that had hopped out of the bush. But everytime he got close to it, only to bend over to pick it up with his free hand, the toad hopped away. Aleksey straightened himself only to follow after the toad and try to pick it up again. This little routine continued until Aleksey sighed out of light frustration and gave up. Of course thats when the Toad hopped onto his boot and piddled on him. Aleksey frowned at the Toad and looked to the Sunflowers in his hand. He smiled at them and brought them to his nose so that he could smell them. Closing his eyes for a moment, Aleksey turned to spot the two girls. He smiled and held up a hand. "Pryvet." He said in greeting, he lowered the flowers from his face. He then took two Sunflowers and held them out to Una and River. "You wanting one? Im Aleksey Fedya Vyacheslav, Im from Russia." He said gently. ____ ".." Una looked to River in silence. She wasnt going to take the weirdos flower was she? This guy had to be like mentally retarded. Why was he catching a frog.. wait. wait no... now that Una thought of it.. and everyone else on Nirvani.. this idiot would fit riiiiiiight in.

River was so busy musing over the possible food combinations, she really didn't notice what was going on outside until Una stopped -- yanking River to a halt. "Huh? What? Weirdo?" she replied without much thought, glancing around for this so-called weirdo. Not that the man was hard to spot. No, compared to River, he was a huge guy, and she looked up at him curiously. Sunflowers? Why sunflowers?
"...Hi?" she greeted him just as he turned to introduce himself. She stared at the sunflowers that he offered her. However, she didn't have the same skepticism that Una had, and so once the shock had worn off, her face erupted into a stupid, defenseless grin. "More accents!" she gasped excitedly. "For me? Thanks!" she added as she plucked the sunflower from Aleksey hand. Reaching back, she tucked the flower behind the waist strap of her apron, right behind the sloppy bow.
Once she was sure it wouldn't fall, she looked back up at the man. "...Urhm... Aleksey? Are you here for a room, or...?" This man was interesting, but that didn't mean that he shouldn't loiter around the inn. And as an employee, it was her job to make sure he wasn't suspicious, right?

Aleksey smiled at River and continued to hold out the other flower for Una. Taking it the German sighed lightly and watched the interaction between Rivera and this.. Aleksey. "Danke." Una said gently. "Pa-zhal-sta." Aleksey said to the girls. When he was asked about a room he shook his head with a smile. "Nyet. I am lost. I was admiring scenery when i came to be here. I think i lost my farm. But its nice to just walk around, da?" Aleksey said with a smile to them. "In Russia, it is so cold. So.. cold.." Aleksey said as he frowned. "So very cold.." He frowned even more before perking up. And we dont see the sun that much." Aleksey said as he looked to the bright blue sky above them. "So even if i make it home at dark. It will be a good day, da?" Aleksey said with a light gentle chuckle. "Even with the Toads leaking on my boots." He said as he pointed down to the FAT toad sitting atop his boot still. ____ "Vell shoo him avay." Una said, no this one wasnt threatening.. just.. really weird. Una sighed and bent down infront of the man to pick up the toad and put it in a nearby bush. She had touched weirder things in her life here on Nirvani. "Ztere now you are good to go. You schould really find your home before nightfall Herr V-.. Vy.. Herr Aleksey." Una said, even she wasnt going to attempt that Russian last name.

Lost! River was an expert when it came to lost people! And she had finally lived in this place long enough to have a vague idea of where things were. "You're lost!" she exclaimed, ignoring Una's discomfort. Well, no, ignoring wasn't the correct verb. More like, she just didn't notice. She was distracted by her own bubble of ignorance, focusing mainly on the interestingly odd man she was speaking with. "Well, you're in the right place! The people here at the inn can probably help you find your way back to your home," she added brightly, pointing to the inn entrance. The NPC's who worked the counter knew lots of things! They had maps and everything! "Good luck!" she added, before giving a small tug to Una's arm. Even though she found it interesting to talk with this guy, at the same time, she knew Alex would get mad at her if she took too long, so it would be best to get food soon. But as she turned to go, she paused. This was an excellent business opportunity! "You know, there's a restaurant right here," she smiled and pointed to the restaurant entrance right next to them. "So if you're ever hungry, you should come here!" Ohhh, Alex would be so proud of her to find that she was bringing it customers~

"Spasiba." Aleksey said with a smile. He took a look at the entrance to the Inn for a bit. He almost missed the girls leaving when River spoke again about the restuarant. He wasnt hungry yet.. or so he thought, so he would hold off on that. Holding up a hand Aleksey smiled as the girls walked off. "Pa-ka." He said as a bidding of farewell. He then took the girls advice and headed into the Inn to purchase a map. Not that it was REALLY going to help him. It would in this one case but the moment he got home he would probably forget he had even bought the thing. And just get lost again.. _________ "I have ein feeling he vill be lost alot." Una said gently to River as they entered the Restuarant. "Okay so now vill order all die new stuff und eat it. I hope you have ein gut appetite River." Una said with a smile as she choose them a booth to sit in. She set down the sunflower Aleksey had give her and River and grabbed the menu. "Ooooo ztis all sounds guuuut." Una said cheerfully. "By die vay.. vhat ist vith you und accents. I never asked." Una asked River. "I mean you vhere almost ready to jump his bones, just cause he spoke Russian." Una chuckled. " You have die hots fur die foreigners." Una teased lightly.

River was pleased that this stranger was listening to her advice, and she waved goodbye to him with her free hand as he disappeared into the inn. Now she could focus on Una again. The two walked into the restaurant, finally unhooking arms as they took a seat. Well, Una sat. River was the only waitress working, so she would have to juggle work and play. So she grabbed a menu and brought it over, setting it down between them as she sat across from the blonde. "I can probably handle it... What about you? You look pretty skinny," she commented with a grin, taking a look over the menu herself. She had practically memorized it by now, just because sometimes she got bored and that's all there was to read, but it would take her a while to get bored with it. She was a simple girl, afterall.
She pulled out an ordering pad and the pen that she kept in her apron pocket, and set about writing down their order when Una asked about her interest in accents. River looked at her blankly for a while. Was it unusual? It had never seemed like it was anything different... "Really? Is that how it looked?" she questioned, leaning back in her seat with a trace of a smile. "I haven't really thought about it... But aren't accents cool?" She leaned forward again and looked at Una intently. "They make people sound smart, right? Like, they speak at least two languages! That's so cool! Like you! And Zhi!" she grinned, fondly remembering when Zhi tried to teach her a little bit of Chinese. She couldn't remember any of it anymore, but it had made her feel like some kind of genius to be able to say something that didn't seem like it meant something, but did. "I mean, it took hard work to learn English, right? I think that's cool~" She finished her comment with a relaxed smile, resting her chin on her hands. She was quiet for a moment as she thought carefully. After some consideration, she concluded, with a grin and a wink, "Maybe I do have the hots for foreigners."

After dropping the kids at Bela, Keith had made his way to the inn. Not that he was in any hurry too get there in time, but he didn't feel like spending more time than needed with the bunch of kids, yet, he couldn't leave them alone either! Kids were stupid, they could kill each other and then they wouldn't have anyone else to wash the dishes and sweep the floor and bring them toilet paper when they ran out of them in the bathroom! Because of that, Keith had to leave them with Bela whom he trusted to keep them alive long enough.
As he enter the inn, he couldn't help but scurf. Damn, that place hadn't change at all. Conor would probably do some change if he even found the will to actually do something... Talking about Conor, Keith looked a bit around, trying to see if the man was there yet. He could get himself a quick ******** before starting his work... Alas, no Conor could be seen. Oh well. Working right next to were Conor was going to work, in a place full of beds? That was just awesome. He grinned to himself at that thought, before walking in the restaurant side of the inn. Well, THAT had changed quite a bit. For the better, really.
He ignored the 3 people that were there talking, and made his way directly for the kitchen. If you're looking for a head cook, then the kitchen was were you needed to go, right? "Yo! Alex Park? Where the ******** are you?" Good impression on his first day? Of course not. They were all cooks! Cooks were rude, loud and all smoked! It was a well known fact.

On the other side of the restaurant was Alex, happily cooking away. He had been so busy since the restaurant was upgraded, but he had to admit, it felt damn good to be cooking in his own kitchen, at his own pace, and the things he wanted. It was lunchtime, and things were quiet, so while he juggled a meal an NPC customer had ordered shortly before River had disappeared (unbeknownst to Alex, of course) he also made himself something for lunch. Once he was done with both plates, he placed one on the counter next to him, and went over to the set the other where River could get to it. Where was she, anyway?
That was the only customer at the moment, so Alex took his plate and leaned against the counter, eating as much as he could when he still had the time. His dark eyes moved up to the television sitting on top of a shelf, and they narrowed. The TV program he hadn't really been paying attention to had switch to some lame women's midday talk show. With a frown, he set aside his plate and went to change the channel, though he had some difficultly. Despite his height, it was still hard to reach. And that's when someone entered the kitchen.
The man turned around, preparing himself to yell at River for coming into the kitchen. But that wasn't River, not at all. He was probably as far away from being River as a person could get, physically. Yes, he was relieved River was listening to him, but at the same time, he had trouble being pleased to see a complete stranger waltz into his kitchen, let alone a rude one. "Yeah, I'm Alex Park. What do you want? The kitchen's employees only." Luckily for everyone involved, Alex wasn't exactly a polite person either.

Keith was happy with the look of the kitchen. Sure, he had only seen two or three in the past, but he could tell this one had a good…Let’s say ‘design’ for the lack of better words. Everything was also built high and tall, like any good kitchen should be, which was just awesome, knowing his own height. Yeah, working there might actually be good. Who knows what kind of crappy little diner he could have ended working in if he had stayed in the city with Conor? Funny how the first time he had came to the island, four years ago, he was more than reluctant to get there, but now, he was actually kind of enjoying it. He had his own place, little slaves to do all the cleaning, a free babysitter that could make sure the slaves stayed alive (Bela) and a workplace in a building full of beds were Conor was also working. Yup, that would be just perfect!
He moved his head in the direction of the voice that seemed to belong to the man he was looking for. He looked Alex up and down… Damn, the man was tall! Keith himself was pretty tall, but he still saw people now and then taller than him, but it was rarely more than a couple of inches… Alex was almost half a feet taller! That was hot. Yeah, the view at work wouldn’t be bad either… ”Well, good thing I’m a ******** employee then.” He told the blue haired man after being told that the kitchen was staff only. He didn’t even wait for more instructions, or rather, questions, from the tall man before moving around the kitchen, looking at were was everything. It was pretty much a normal kitchen design. Things tended to always be around the same part.”Nic place, dude. Look way ******** better than it did two years ago. Not that I saw the ******** kitchen back then, but I’m sure it ******** is. Oh! Look! A coat rack!” He removed his coat and threw it there with the others. Kitchens tended to be way too warm to wear a coat in them… hell, they tended to be way to warm to wear a coat, period. Damn those stupid health law that forbids you from cooking naked.

Una smiled and River, blushing slightly and laughing. "Vell.. i say ztats a gut zting. Und ja it vas hard to learn English.. die vay certain vords sound die same.. but are spelled different? Its.. very hard to deal vith. Und ztats just part of die difficulty aof die language. Mein Unkle stil struggles vith it. I dont know how Pip.. die Frenchman at die Grindhouse? How he did it, from French to English? Und him.. die.. Aleksey? Russian to English. Have you ever seen Russian vords? Its almost like Kanji in Japanese. Or chinese characters.. ist symbols ztat mean certain vords or sounds in die language." Una said with a smile. Actually after saying that, it did make her sound really freaking smart! River was right! "So have you tried to learn anozter language yourself?" Una asked gently. _______________ Aleksey who had just purchased a map of Nirvani from a NPC worker at the Inn, was curious as a moth to the flame when a foul mouthed person stormed into the Inn and headed to the kitchen. What strange behavior.... werent people who worked in the kitchen only allowed in the kitchen? Then again the Russian had no real clue what was going on. And why did this dark haired male swear so much? His English wasnt that good, grammar wise, but Aleksey did know a few English swear words. ******** was one of them... Putting the map in his coat pocket, Aleksey followed after Keith into the kitchen. He spotted the foul mouthed man and another one with blue hair. Keeping quiet, like always he just observed what was going on with a gentle smile. He did like just watching people, and now that he had a map he could find his way back home. But he was in no rush, not with this good weather. plus the conversation he had walked in on could be interesting. Plus he wondered how long it would take either man to notice a tall pale haired Russian man standing in the doorway to the kitchen.

River listened to Una carefully. She had said very similar things to Zhi, mentioning the complicated-ness of the English language. Hell, she had been speaking it all of her life, and even she had trouble speaking it correctly! "That's such a cool thing!" she marveled as Una explained different languages. "Man, I'm jealous. I wish I could know stuff like that," she let out a sigh and sat back up straight.
By now she had finished marking down their orders, and so she excused herself briefly before standing up, hurrying over to the waitress station so she could punch in their orders. Once she was done, she skipped back to the table, and finally decided to answer Una's question. "Zhi tried to teach me Chinese once. Just a couple of words. I don't remember any of them, though. Chinese is hard!" she remarked thoughtfully.
Alex was confused at first. Who was this guy? Did he work at the inn or something. He looked a little familiar, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it... But as he watched the man move around the kitchen--his kitchen--it suddenly occurred to him. "...Are you Keith?" he questioned him suspiciously. He had just just hired another cook, but it never occurred to him to, you know, interact with him beyond giving him the job. "If you are, that's great. If you're not, you have to... leave..." He glanced around the kitchen, and finally caught sight of the large man filling up the doorway. He was surprised at first. First off, he didn't often see people as tall as he was, and it was startling, after years of being the tallest man on the island. Secondly, the man was a complete stranger, and he looked like he was lost. And he was staring at them. "Err... What are you doing?" he asked. He could have been rude, yes, but this man was a much bigger threat than Keith. At least, he looked like it.

"Took you long enough." The boy replied to his new boss, a grin on his lips. At least his boss wasn't a complete idiot! He hated those kind of people... people like Pip. God, he was happy not to have seen that freshman for the last two years... or was he at Bela's wedding? Well, if he was, he hadn't noticed him, so it didn't really mater. He kept walking around, trying to see where more things were, what kind of appliance was being used and all those little tidbits that wouldn't interest anyone who wasn't a cook. "Yeah, that's me, so I guess I'm great?" He replied cockily, before turning around and seeing the other man standing in front of the door way. Hadn't he seen him in the dining area? Another employee perhaps? He didn't knew, nor did he cared to.
