Brydent himself had to admit that he enjoyed a bit of a Coliseum fight. He had come to watch and participate in many of these, always seeking new power and enlightenment from each battle. Of course, this time he had an even better motive to engage: the enlightenment that came with discovering Mr. L's intentions. He was eager to step up to the plate. "A Diabolos is glad to do battle. Especially one born a Werewolf." He grinned, stretching his body in preparation for the inevitable fight. "However," he relaxed his muscles. "I give you this chance. Fight and prove your strength to me. I will bet my own health for your victory, and if you lose, I will be sure to finish you off. If you win, glory will follow you in the form of my trust. How fares that answer to you, Amias the Pagan?" This was the best chance this guy ever had of getting to be Brydent's first friend in the universe, so he hoped he'd take it. If Amias let him down on the other hand, he'd piss on his corpse in front of the crowd. A hero or a fool. Either way, Brydent expected him to carry this battle on his shoulders.

"I will bet something of mine much more important than my horns: my second head. The crowd should love that wager. Use their moment of laughter to make a nice name for yourself, mhm?" He grinned, waving the man off, ready to watch one man or another bleed. Though for the sake of his sex life, he was hoping Amias would be the victor here. "Do your Captain proud."

When Brydent had finished giving the responsibility of fighting to Amias--possibly as a play to figure out just what his underling's powers were--the Pagan couldn't help but chuckle. "My, oh my. An offer to redeem myself, you say? You didn't strike me as the generous type, Brydent." Either way, it was his turn to fluff his feathers for his captain once again...of course, the last time turned into vicious, bloody sex amidst a mountain of blood and corpses. However, his sexual, macabre experiences with Lilith were something for the two of them to share; a wonderful conversation behind closed doors, just not anywhere else. After mentally kicking himself for dwelling on past thoughts, Amias would seem to vanish from sight after paying his fee, reappearing at the entrance to the arena. For a short while, the crowd fell silent; apparently, it wasn't very often that visitors came in without having to open the door? Either way...the Pagan would make his way to the center of the arena, ready to make his challenge. Using one of his abilities by birthright, the crowd in the arena would see Amias as something...more ominous than he actually was. Dark energy would seem to slither off his body, sinking into the ground and resurfacing in an aura of fear and death around him. Hopefully, Brydent would be able to see through his ruse; this was a publicity play. In order to get the contestants riled up for a good fight, and potentially cheer their Diabolus friend into taking a deal he normally wouldn't.

"My name is Amias Nicht. And I have come here with the biggest wager you've ever known. But before I say just what that is...I openly challenge any Diabolus in the crowd to step down and face me for the ultimate prize. But in exchange for this legendary prize...I require a very special wager from you." Using his pagan ability, Amias would amplify and empower his voice, giving the NPCs the feeling that something of a demigod was bearing down upon them. "I require that Diabolus to wager their horns. And if we deem each other mighty enough warriors...perhaps even more than that." So he stood, with his arms open amidst the silent crowd. Who would step forth and accept the challenge, for promises of an ultimate prize beyond compare?

'Glory To Me' is a mental allure that they constantly release from their vessel, similar to an Incubi's seduction, but weaker. Rather than seducing people, this ability fools their mind. It can make them see things that aren't real. In fact, they can even feel these things. This ability is literally impossible to ignore or break out of, but it serves little benefit other than prestige. A Pagan will often use this power to make themselves appear divine; the sun will rise behind them, their clothing will flow and shine with the breeze, they'll just seem so... God-like. They can even change their appearance using this, although it's a temporary thing. This ability can have some uses in battle, though. For example, if a Pagan is to cast a shadow over themselves, it'd make them harder to see. If they make the sun shine behind them, they can make their enemy flinch away from the overbearing light. They can also fool enemies into thinking they've struck a shield or something like that, although that sort of manipulation over reality is something that only Pagans who focus on this type of power can do.

This can only be done on skills of one rank higher than them. This is an extremely powerful passive of the djinn, an intelligent djinn capable of using it to largely make up for their vulnerability to ranged magic. It can also help to leave an enemy open in close-quarters combat.

Zenrath, the Destroyer
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as Amias issued the challenge, a being descended from the skies, landing down before the man as he definitely had horns to give up. "I heard your wager.... I accept." The being stated as he only had one destructive clawed arm, entering a fighting stance to battle against Amias. The moment the matched started, the being was quick to dash in, attempting for an early knock out with a hard right hook towards the skull of Amias. The being may have clearly underestimated Amias, but he was so full of himself, and with a good reason too, being that he was a brawler, not a swordsman.

When Zenrath landed on the ground, Amias placed his hands together with a smile. "Good! I'm glad you accepted my offer. Now, as for your prize...if you can defeat me, you'll be the winner of Brydent's second head! The most valuable p***s in all of nocturne, praised for its divine glory!" The very instant the words 'second head' left his mouth, the crowd was in uproar. Snorting, giggling, whatever disgusting means of laughter you'd like. But he didn't have time to revel in the moment. From out of the blue, Zenrath charged, his hulking right fist aiming a punch at Amias that would take his head cleanly off his body. And...it did? All the crowd would see would be the fist flying over Amias shoulders with no attempt to dodge. For a short moment there, a stunned silence overtook the crowd.

Until Amias' head reappeared. "Just kidding. You don't get to win that easy now." With speed that far surpassed his adversary's, Amias coated one of his fists in a slicing Lyr energy before aiming to slice off the gigantic arm in a fierce counter-blow. With the exchange happening only a fraction of a second after the initial strike had passed--notwithstanding the fact that it seemed as though the Pagan's head had been cleanly removed--there was little room for the Diabolos to make an effective counterattack without possessing knowledge of the ruse. If he lost that hulking right arm of his, the disadvantage would be severe.

Zenrath, the Destroyer
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zenrath watched the man's own fist get coated with energy and decided to let the arm take the full blow as he exerted some energy through his body. Soon enough, his body had a strange gloss to it as he blocked the attack with ease. The arm was strong on it's own, but the being had just hardened his body with the Berzerker's art of Steel Form. Anyone that went for his large arm had to have something in mind, so steel form would help in protecting it. Upon taking the blow, Zenrath was sent flying backwards from the attack, holding onto his right arm as he rolled into a stop.

As he rolled to a stop, the Diabolos would see that--once again--Amias was upon him. Leaving no time for counterplay, the Pagan would descend with an axe kick from above, boasting the force to leave a sizable crater in the earth, even with hitting his opponent as well. However, something was different this time. The slicing energy was...more potent. With the current, refined state of his Lyr, Amias could slice through even steel form with relative ease. Meaning that--even with physical blows--this Diabolos was in trouble. It was a simple move, but the meaning behind it was moreso the point; enough force to slice through your skin AND break your bones? It seemed as though the Diabolos had a rather good fight on their hands yet.

But, even moreso than that...a strange, powerful energy was building within Amias. With their natural ability to sense energy, it was likely that his opponent would pick up on it...but what, really, could they do about it, lest they put themselves in an even more vulnerable position upon countering the Pagan?

Zenrath, the Destroyer
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zenrath's eyes focused on Amias as the being could teleport now, common sense was very helpful, but he thrusts an arm out, catching the ax's handle to prevent the attack from being completed. He could feel the energy seething out as he then attempted to try and sweep Amias off of his feet to lead into a harsh thrust kick. Amias was already annoying Zenrath as he was fighting to survive.

Seeing as how Amias' attack was indeed, an axe kick, with his foot as the center of the attack, it was quite catastrophic to the Diabolos that he would think to block such an attack with his own hand. As a result of that, the slicing Lyr around his leg would then proceed to cleanly slice the Diabolos' smaller arm off, leaving him with quite a gaping wound to tend to. "It's not too late to give up, you know; at this rate, you'll just bleed out and die, and I really don't think that would be as exciting as living to have your vengeance someday, eh?" Without giving him time to answer, Amias would then throw a powerful fist at the chest of the opponent. If this strike made contact, it would burst with enough force to send the Diabolos flying into the wall behind him, dealing massive damage. And despite the excruciating pain of having his arm sliced off...if Amias' adversary were somehow able to avoid this, there was a plan. This was one thing that should remain ever obvious with the pagans. No matter what the case, they will always have a plan. They have lived long enough, failed enough, and succeeded enough to know that proper planning is essential to victory. And boy, oh boy, if the gears in the Pagan's head weren't turning right now.

Zenrath, the Destroyer
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zenrath was taking blows left and right, his left arm being cut off before he was sent flying harshly into the wall. Something snapped inside of his mind as he got out of the wall, charging at the man, but something changed as he seemed to vanish. Zenrath had used a strange dash technique to get close to the man known as Amias as he attempted to try and stab through his right eye with his right claw's index claw finger.

For a second, Amias was actually amused. As the demon's piercing attack went through his skull, in one and and out the other, the crowd fell silent. The Pagan god would just sit there for a brief moment, his mouth cracked open, feigning lifeless eyes to give an accurate representation of a dead man. One this sense of victory, this false sense of security settled into t he mind of his opponent, they would feel something...unpleasant. As though a major changed had happened with their body, and their brain was still trying to process the information. Of course, it was going to be difficult for the brain to come to terms with the massive hole that had just been blown in the Diabolos' midsection. All that remained of a large part of the being's torso was his still-beating heart, the likes of which was now being tightly gripped by Amias' own hand. With a harsh, strong tug, he ripped the heart from his opponent's chest, watching as his lifeless frame fell to the ground. As the crowd stared forth in stunned silence, Amias would kneel down, slicing off the demon's horns and storing them in his coat for later use.

"That was...an interesting time. I'm a little disappointed in myself that the Diabolos actually got the drop on me at the end there, but that's inconsequential." Were Brydent still outside the arena, he would merely hear the Pagan's voice as he stepped outside. When he turned to face his would-be comrade, he would find that one of Amias' eyes had been replaced with a gaping hole. It pierced cleanly through his head, giving vision through his body and out the other side. From here, Brydent would be able to see that his body wasn't made of flesh and bone, but of a strange, smoky energy...Lyr. He may have had questions; hell, due to his present relationship with Amias, it was possible that the Captain was completely apathetic. But regardless, their task at the Colosseum was complete. Now...the task of finding a slime girl.

Pagans are very... noble. They have the air of a King or Queen about them; even a divine. This comes from this particular ability.

That was an interesting fight, although he felt it was ended too quickly. He didn't enjoy battles that were resolved by such miniscule whims; Brydent favored the sort of battle that lasted a while, exhausting two combatants until their inevitable defeat of the great Other. Still, Amias did win, and he got the horn. He also didn't seem to have expended too much energy at all. It wasn't much of a contest, apparently, just with some false external wounds that would surely heal. Somehow. "Whatever," he replied, shrugging his shoulders. "In the end, we have the horns, and my eyes are on you. Although - I'm disappointed that I barely got to see you work." That was true. He didn't exactly unveil the secret that was Amias. That was fine though. He was sure, in due time, he'd understand how the Pagan worked - fully.

"Yeah, uh huh," he tried to move this conversation forward. "Well, oh great creature of darkness, let's go see what we can find of the Slime. I wager Kusana. I've heard of grotesque beasts in their wilds that slurp and drag along the ground. Sound sufficient?" He began to walk away, about as apathetic as when he came. Brydent was still a d**k, but he kept in the back of his mind that Amias was a formidable fighter.

"Well, if my abilities ever intrigue you to the point of investigation, I'd be more than happy to just explain them to you. Of course, the last time I tried to explain the nature of my abilities to someone, it took over three days, and they were mostly comatose by the end. So...that's up to you." When Brydent made the mention of leaving Nocturne to find the slime girl, Amias would simply nod. "Unfortunately, it won't be as easy for us to get to the slime girl as easily as we found the Diabolos. If you'd like to try Kusana, then I'm down." At this point, Brydent referred to Amias as the 'great creature of darkness', soliciting a chuckle from the older man. Amias would begin walking towards the exit, subconsciously knowing that Brydent would step forward. "Bydent...I'm going to admit a bit of fault here. It's been a while since I went to Kusana. Perhaps you could guide this old man to our destination?" At this point, his mind flickered back to his comment, and the Pagan could do little more than let out a light sigh.

As the two neared the exit in the area, Amias said lightly, "I have known only one true creature of darkness on this world, and I'll be frank; I don't come close to meeting that standard."
