As Max ventured into the damp and dark swamp, tiny bouncing fireflies bobbed all around him. The sounds of crickets and cicada building up to a crescendo, it was a calming lullaby of sounds. It was rare for anyone to just simply enjoy such things, not many ventured into these parts. Some too afraid, others preferred the hustle and bustle of city life but for whatever reason, the swamp seemed to welcome Max into its threshold. Even with his private conversation, it moved, not away as if he was a trespasser but toward him. Vines creep along the mossy ground, roots shiver and shift, the rusty leaves rustled from his path. The night was alive, it was almost magical.
About 12 feet in front of him hung a small grouping of One Eyed Bats, a few opened their singular ocular and stared at the shapeshifter. Their tiny veiny wings spanned and crossed in front of them, their maws opened calling to him or something else, it was rather unknown at this point. Whatever the case, they did not move as he approached.

As there wasn't much to do but continue walking forward, Max began to grow bored. He'd been here several times before. The serene beauty of the swamp... well, to him, it was just the swamp on a normal day. It was kinda like how after looking at the same pair of boobies every day eventually makes you crave other boobies. Not that he was growing tired of the Swamp. It'll always be his first. But then, his boredom ceased when he saw a coven of cyclops bats staring at him. To anyone, it'd be unsettling. Though Max's eyes almost doubled in size as a corny smile overcame his face. Screw the slow approach, the shapeshifter ran in an attempt to try and hug one of the bats.

The bats squealed, some taking off but one single bat remained unmoved. Its translucent wing ripped on the right side, making flight difficult. Grudgingly it allowed Max to pick it up, but not without its tiny fangs trying to bite his fingers. It squeaked and fluttered, escape was impossible now, not that it had somewhere to go to begin with. Then the one large eye moved to the two wide ones staring back, he silently said 'Put me back up there, fool.'

After quite some time, Alex finally made it to the Swamp. It took some leaps and elemental help, but none-the-less, she made. Now to find her partner, who was most likely lost since he had the attention span of puppy. Through the muss of twigs, moss and dreariness, the angel descended into the muck. Occasionally her cloak getting caught on the random thistles, boots caked with mud. "Max?" His name echoing as she ventured, searching to no avail. "Max!" Palms pressed to her hips, patience was not her virtue.
"Maaaaaxxxxxxxxx~" Her calling continued until she thought she spotted him, though he was still a distance away. Then in a sudden misstep she slipped, falling back and into a muddy puddle. Alex laughed, the irony of it all, though she would again stand, flinging off the slippery gunk from her backside.

The boy loved the feel of the bat's scratchy, yet sparse, fur. This one was special! He could tell. Especially by it's musky scent. This bat would taste delicious in a stew. Or maybe as some jerky? He could even pass it off as Bat Bacon. Alex would probably love some... as long as he told her it was beef jerky. But it was at the very moment when Max was going to snuff the life out of the creature that it spoke. Scared, the boy tossed the creature away from him, not really caring if it got hurt. That thing scared him! "Dude! C'mon. If you could speak, try to give a little warning next time. Not cool, bro. Not cool at all." He was going to continue his rant... up until he heard a familiar. Allie? Just as she shouted his name out several times, he shouted out hers to confirm that he was still here. "AAAAAAALLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE!" Perhaps a bit over the top.
After transforming into a common housecat once again, he followed her voice and finally found her, cleaning herself after falling in what seemed like mud. But you could never be too sure in this place. Could've been dung. "We could totally have a mud fight. Buuut, you gotta go it in your undergarments. Those are the conditions."

"Max!" She quipped as he elongated every letter in her name, then he'd appear, a white feline dodging the mud gracefully until he came upon her. "Why do I have to undress? No one else has to?" The angel bent over, scooping the muck from her legs and quickly threw it at Max. Globs splayed, making the shot scatter into mini collisions. Giggles sparked, her smile growing as she discarded the dirty cloak and gathered up some more mud. "I bet you can't even land one hit." Words taunting, mocking him in kind.

Didn't she know? Forest boobies were the best! Everyone knows that girls who flash their boobs in a forest are instantly amazeballs. "Well, technically, I'm already naked. So you're getting off easy with this whole, 'only in undergarments' thing. So... yeah. Just toss aside the clothes Maybe even the push up bra while you're at it, since you're definitely not fooling anyone." When he saw that Alex had tried to make the first move, the feline instinctively shot his palm forward, striking the ball of mud while releasing energy at the same time. The ball of mud suddenly exploded outward, sending several bits of mud in Alex's direction. Max grinned as he spoke. "Wanna bet?" Suddenly, the cat pounced off to the side, launching four separate mudballs, one for each time his right paw touched the wet ground before he found cover behind a tree.

"Psh. Too bad. I just got back from- HEY! Well I'm glad to see that your junk is non-existent." She giggled and quickly ushered the mud back to the ground in several low splats. Then he bound off again, darting like the feline that he currently was. Alex shifted her hand again, this time the wind stirred in front of her. When the impending mud came barreling at her, it smacked right into her air shield and deflected off into separate directions. Though when the golden oculars moved back to the very spot that Max had been in, he was gone. A sigh escaped her lips, hands finding their home against a cocked hip. "You are gonna have to try better than that, scaredyyyy cat." The skies grew dark, slate grey clouds tumbled in. Thunder sounded far off, and as the heaven's opened up, it began to downpour. Pitter-patter bobbled each leaf and the shower began. Alex, on the other hand, was smiling as she stood in the holy rain. It wasn't for long though, the lithe form lifted from the mud, higher and higher she rose until the neph lunged herself head-over-heels and propelled the mud right off her boots. "Max.." She wasn't sure if he could hear her or not, hell he could have left the swamp even and then she'd just be talking to herself. "...I have a boyfriend. I think one day you should meet him..." Her gaze moved around just as she did, looking for her feline companion.

A random hiss could be heard as Allie addressed her first comment. But Max continued to move. As soon as he found cover behind a tree, he proceeded to scale it with his claws, moving further up and onto a branch. He was going to try and break the branch to strike from above... until it started to rain. It... most definitely was not normal rain. Well, Allie was now flying. "Who are you calling scaredy cat, twinkle toes!? Didya have to make it rain? You don't need to fly to make it rain, you just gotta show them rich guys the junk in that trunk." When she proceeded to tell Max about her having a boyfriend, the feline shrugged it off. "Oooh! Allie's got a boo thang! Allie's got a boo thang! Work it, girllllll. No, but in all seriousness... are you putting out? I know you're like... part angel, but I think god will forgive having hot, sweaty sex with your boo thang."

"I'm not showing the 'junk in the trunk'...." Brows furrowed at the cat, but again she didn't let him rest for too long. Hands shifted, a whirlwind of force pulled at him, a funnel aiming to grip the white-haired feline and pry him from the branch and straight into the mud adjacent from the current spot.
"No! I'm not putting out...Why are you always so perverted Max? I try to have a conversation with you cause you get all hissy when I don't tell you things, then you be a little...ugh. No..I am not currently sleeping with Greed." She cut the flow of air just as another would form, this time making a wave of water and mud to splash against him. as a single arm arc through the air. Pallid cheeks grew rosy, her chest heaved as a heavy sigh pushed out. "Now stop being such a puss and hit me." A sweet smile taunting, egging him on.

Upon hearing her snap out, the feline stopped his vulgar teasing. It was no longer thrusting it's hips back and forth to simulate sex. The nephilim was getting... angry. It was like all others that called him annoying for making light of a situation. Perhaps that was his fault. Not everyone could see the humor in everything. As the tunnel of wind lifted the small cat off it's feet, it didn't exactly fight it. Instead, Max shapeshifted back into his own form and landed right in the mud. As a cat, his expressions were hard to read, but they were clear as a human. A look of confusion was perhaps the most apparent. "Look, I'm happy for you. What else did you want me to say? I mean... you know how I am..." He allowed the short wave of mud to splash against his legs, further dirtying up his clothes. Instead of continuing on with the play fight, he turned around and began walking away, placing his hands in his pant pockets. "... I have to finish this mission."

The rain ceased and she dropped to the ground just as he had, though the expression that masked her face wasn't one of confusion... "Max, Maxxxx..." Mud splattered in chaotic crashes as she moved through the puddles to catch up with him. "Hey...I'm sorry...I was just telling you cause for my birthday we are..Well do you want to come to a beach? I know you haven't really been any other place but if you aren't doing anything, it could be fun." Alex huffed, the long strides in the muck tiring her muscles. "You are like...family to me." Tawny gold spheres widen in surprise, cheeks slightly hint at a pink hue as a smile connected them. "Let's go find you some-" Then she stopped in her tracks, as the ground began to tremble underfoot. If she swore, now would have been the time. Only a foot in front of them erupted a large wurm, it's jutting clawing digging rivets in the ground while it's maw dripped green toxin. It quickly turned its head as she gasped and it came wriggling right at her. "Max...flank it."
Both of her extended hands flashed as Holy broadswords appeared within, she waited though, letting the wurm draw closer to her.

Strangely enough, by the time he had even taken 10 steps, the boy already forgot what he was mad about, he only continued to walk because he might feel stupid if he stopped for no reason. When she mentioned her boyfriend, he remembered! He was mad because she gave him the same look and response that everyone else gave him. It was a look he was tired of receiving for just being himself. "...Let Greed have that one day. Cuz I get to have you the other 364 days of the year." For a brief moment, he looked over his shoulder at Allie to flash a smile. It only faded when he saw that she stopped moving. 'Max... flank it.' With just these words, Max reacted almost instinctively. Immediately, a large rock rose from the ground, shooting towards the mouth of the primitive creature, only to be followed by five quick jabs that shot a small ball of energy. The energy balls would only serve to push in the rock already stuffed in the creature's mouth.

Rock was lodged into the teethy maw but the acid was already starting to deteriorate the mineral makeup. Still it was driven deeper with each forceful push.Alex waited, holding her breath as Max moved. The wurm still thrashed about, it's long tail whipping back and forth and coming full swing at the shapeshifter. Its whole form would turn, using the claw as a swivel while it tried to cough up the decaying earth that was stuck in its mouth.

Max wasn't surprised that the creature survived that. He basically just shoved hardened dirt into it's mouth. In it's rage, it swirled about, not that Max was worried. The only thing it'd hit was the occasional tree. But, just to be safe, and extra, Max lifted five stones of the same size over the creature, forcing them all to shoot downward at the same time in an attempt to crush the creature.
