Shayera winces as Kai’s blades pierce Tanzu’s flesh, but she makes no move to stop him.
“I understand.” Shayera’s voice is no more than a horrified whisper. “I won’t have any harm come to Kanzuki and Yama, either. Especially not harm caused by one of my own teammates.” Her voice turns cold at the end as she imagines Tanzu turning to Kanzuki. She constricts the hand further without realizing it. Chakra Points:

Tanzu still continued to giggle, his face splattered across with his own blood. It was a hideous sound, like...nothing anyone could describe. A choked, desperate sound, like he was trying to laugh...or cry for help. "P-pigaya..." was the closest sound to it. But soon, chakra seeps out of his skin. Toxic, horrible looking stuff, that even burned his own skin...if it did him, then it would her.
((He's not manipulating that, so I wouldn't think that counts...))

Shayera cries out in pain, as something toxic seems to pour from Tanzu’s skin, burning his flesh, and therefore, hers. She bites down on her tongue to keep from crying out in pain again, watching in horror as the whatever-it-is seeps from Tanzu’s pores, seeming to melt their skin. She holds her jutsu, forcing herself to stay focused even though her eyes are beginning to tear up from the burning. Tanzu, if we make it out of this alive, I owe you one good fricking a**-kicking, she rages internally at her teammate.
“You b*****d.” She mutters, directing the words at the Hachibi rather than Tanzu. Chakra Points:

Tanzu's mouth was still contorted into that maniacal expression, but his eyes...were borderlined inbetween red and violet, like they were saying desperately 'help me.' Dark chakra still poured out of him, soon taking form of a vague look of an ox...

Kai shook his head, both saddened and disappointed that it had come to this, but as he had said, he would not risk letting this boy harm his friends. Kai let go of the Kunai with his left hand and grabbed onto the hilt of his blade which Tanzu still held firm in his grasp. With one final look into Tanzu's eyes, Kai said in a voice that was barely a whisper, "forgive me..." Kai plunged his wakizashi forward to pierce Tanzu's heart, but without even stopping to see if the blade would pierce through that terrible chakra, Kai spun to the left, drawing his katana, Oni Koutai, from its sheath. Kai continued with the spin, using the momentum to turn in into a slash at Tanzu's torso. As Kai came around for the blow and his eyes met Tanzu's he let out a guttural roar as hot tears began to well up in his stark white eyes."I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me"

Normally, that would do nothing, since the boy weighed next to nothing. But at the moment, thanks to all the sand he was carrying around, he probably weighed a good couple hundred pounds more than usual. Plenty to stop an arm from swinging. "I'll handle it from here. All of you should stand back." It was a gentle way of saying to back off and let him deal with it, but he really didn't care how they read into it. From an outside point of view, it was just one sand genin taking responsibility for another. "And let him go before you kill yourself." He muttered, glancing at the Nara girl. ((Ah, and he was just at the brink of coming back...well, might as well continue...))
Tanzu's body was nearly at the brink of it all, and with that slash, Hachibi knew he need to stop, otherwise, he'd die, too. The horrible stuff finally was gone. The wounds soon started to heal up slowly, but he was left terribly injured...he was still at the brink of death. His red eyes were slanted, tear filled and defeated..."Y-you..." he managed to choke out, but couldn't say anymore. 'Why do you seem different, too?...' he wanted to say, but was left standing, unciouss and barely alive...

also now I don't know which to react to, has tanzu fallen unconscious or is he about to fight david? just want to clarify it real quick)

Shayera releases Tanzu from her jutsu, wincing from the pain of the chakra burns on her skin. In a deep bow of respect and thanks, she falls to her knees in front of David, not caring what anyone thinks of her at this point.
“Thank you, David.” Her vision is beginning to waver around the edges and she realizes how close she is to unconsciousness. “You have my utmost respect if you can help Tanzu.” Her skin is splotched with raw, angry red burns, blisters beginning to form on her shoulders, arms, legs, and torso. “Please. Help him.” She pleads, still on her knees. Chakra Points:

He had been ready for a good fight too. Quickly acting, to cover his sigh as one of relief rather than the disappointment it truly showed, he released the mist genin's arm, and turned his head back towards the woods where the girl had gone. "It's over, you can come take care of him now." He called out to her, before turning back to the boy. 'Next time, come when I'm alone.' He thought, wishing the boy could hear. Glancing down at the other girl as she fell at his feet, the boy blinked. Now that was just plain odd. He really didn't know what he was meant to say to that, so he didn't. Realizing that David is not going to respond to her sudden bow, she stands again, biting her lip to keep from crying out. She slips off of the ledge and into the water again, trying to soothe the burns. The cool water feels like sandpaper on her raw skin but she grits her teeth and submerges herself, cursing herself for not becoming a medic like her sister had. Realizing that this is probably causing more pain than good, she climbs back up onto the ledge, dripping wet but unwilling to let a towel touch her skin. Chakra Points:

Kai looked David over with uncertainty, he didn't know why but something just seemed... off about him. Walking over to Tanzu's unconscious form, Kai took his sheath from Tanzu's grip and placed it back on his hip and sheathing Oni Koutai. He then retrieved his wakizashi which had fallen to the ground, the dark chakra that surrounded the boy having protected him from any real harm. Kai then wiped the blood from the blade using his pant leg and placed the blade back in its sheath.
Turning back to face David, Kai's eyes were narrowed as he said to the boy with a hint of anger, "Why did you try and provoke him? Someone could have died, he almost did! What is it that he has done that you wish to torture him so?" Kai shook his head as he looked away from David and back towards the beaten and bloody Tanzu. "What gives you the right to put his and our lives in further peril?", Kai said as he turned a stony gaze back on David."I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me"

So, not really wanting to respond with the truth of "Because I'm an insane monster.", David decided to deflect the matter as subtly as he could. Which wasn't very subtle. "You have my thanks for protecting me, but I didn't need it." The boy began, choosing his words carefully and speaking slowly to be sure he didn't mess up. This was not a good person to get angry, he could tell that much. "I wished to see how strong the boy really was, and it seemed the best way." He stated, mostly true, but leaving out the small detail that he was going to kill the boy if he attacked him. "I would not have allowed you to die in any case. It would only bring trouble upon myself later." David finished, totally true this time. He didn't want their blood on his hands, not now, when the proctors were watching. [Chakra Point Total: 30/35]
