 PixieThere was something in the way he backed up that made Pixie think that he wasn't very comfortable with others. But then again, it may be nothing, she is prone to making up motivations and thoughts for others. Meh. That spot may have just been more comfortable to sit in. Her legs were gettin a little tired, so she carefully cleared away some of the pointier rocks and sat down. " Cedric huh? Well I'm here to see if I can find some answers about some stuff." It's probably better to be cryptic at the moment, after all she didn't really know this Persian. She then noticed the hole in the wall that the Persian came through. " Interesting," she mumbled.

 CedricCedric watched as the Vulpix brushed away a small circle with her paws before placing herself firmly on the ground. She was much smaller than he was... he must have seemed to almost be a giant to her. Had he been that small before he evolved? He wasn't really sure. It was kind of odd to think that he had grown so much. He had been the last one to evolve so he had never had anything to really compare the growth to. Answers, huh? Well, that was rather vague but whatever. " I'm just here exploring. I heard about it and thought that looking around might be a good way to kill time." Well, there was always the possibility of a little bit of "this" and "that" here and there too... he was a Persian after all. He was naturally drawn to shiny things.

Pixie Killing time? It had been a while since she last thought about that. But then again, for a while before she joined the guild, all her free time was spent deciding how to get here, what she'd do when she did, and then steeling herself for doing it. It's kind of a funny thought. " It's kinda nice having something to kill time with isn't it?" She laughs a little bit. It feels nice to laugh. smile

Cedric " Mmm. I guess so." The Persian fell silent for a moment as he thought back into his life. Cedric lowered himself to the ground and carefully brushed the small pebbles aside with his stomach in a bit of an odd motion that made it look as if he were shaking. Now stretched out and closer to the ground, Cedric continued speaking. " I've never really had a lot that I've 'needed' to do, so I've spent most of my days just killing time and having fun." Life before the group was much like life after; find food, kill time, sleep. Life with it was... always fun. Lots of fun, just messing around. Cedric lay one paw over the other, evidently unconcerned by his posture. He didn't see any risk in lowering his guard around the Vulpix, whether it was because of trust or confidence.

Pixie Pixie found it intriguing that Cedric seemed to trust her enough to let down his guard. After all, he didn't know what she was capable of, it wasn't much, he could probably whup her bad and just leave her here. But still, the Vulpix felt nice in knowing that he might just trust her a little bit. She didn't really know why she didn't just ask if the Persian knew anything, he appeared to be trustworthy and she had been planning on doing that in the first place if she met someone. But, you know what, it was kinda nice just having a plain old conversation with somemone who wasn't obviously trying to hide something she knew about. Arceus knows she dealt with enough of that back with the family. " Don't you get bored of not having anything you really need to do? I know I would. Sometimes I kinda like just being able to put something off 'till later in the day you know?" The Vulpix cocked her head just a little bit in question after looking back to make sure mom's ribbon was still on her tail and hadn't fallen off on her way over.

Cedric " Mmm... Not really." The Persian followed the Vulpix's gaze back to her tail ribbon and noted it idly. Was it something special to her? Well, he didn't really care to be honest. " I've never really 'needed' to do anything. It was always me, doing things for me, because I wanted to. So I can't say I'd ever want that." In truth, Cedric had actually lost his parents at a fairly young age. He was far from some stereotypical "orphaned adventurer", though. His uncle had raised him for most of his life, but always as a friend and a guiding hand; never a guardian. He had only ever done things he had wanted to do, and that was the truth. He had never really needed to do anything, even when he was with the pack... if he had been given the choice, there was very little he would have chosen not to do when he did, or to do when he didn't. " Having things that I need to do doesn't really seem fun to me."

Pixie " I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder eh?" After all, she enjoyed having stuff she needed to do because when she was little, it distracted her from her thoughts which usually weren't that pleasant. And doing work usually kept the older pokemon from asking her how she felt about her mom. Arceus how she hated those questions. " But anyways, you like to explore for fun?"

Cedric " I guess so." He didn't really know, because having a different perspective than he did was sort of a foreign concept that was difficult to fully understand. "Walking a mile in someone else's shoes" wasn't exactly something he had ever done. " Ehhhh." The Persian could only reply with that, for a moment. It wasn't particularly a case of "yes I do" or "No I don't". " It's a free way to spend some time. Some things in the city are nice, but money is a pain to come by so I spend a lot of my time poking around interesting places." It wasn't that it wasn't fun, it was more that "fun" isn't the way one would usually describe it. It was a good way to spend an afternoon though. Best of all, it was free which meant he didn't have to go into the city or deal with the people.

Pixie " Usually in my free time, I like to spend time with my best friend Frankie. He always manages to make me feel a little bit better." Even though she technically did have free time today, she didn't want to spend it with the Squirtle. She loves him like a brother, but even siblings need to be alone sometimes. But it's not like she left him in the dark about where she was. This Vulpix isn't stupid, she left a note. The Vulpix shakes her head quickly before continuing her explanation. " But today, I didn't really want to be with him. There are somethings I need to do without him." Or maybe she just wanted to see who she was without him. They're so close that seeing one without the other usually ment that it was time to sleep or something. It's kinda easy to lose yourself even with the person who makes you feel the most like yourself.

Cedric " Mmm... I guess I can understand that." The Persian stood up slowly and stretched out with a loud yawn. The ruins weren't exactly the most brightly lit place overall and resting like that was going to get him drowsy if he stayed there too long. He wasn't about to hunker down for a nap in a place like this. Cedric took a few light steps in place to try and get his muscles limber as he continued. " I had a group like that. We did literally everything together for years. We slept in the same cave, hunted food together, ate together... whatever we did was together. Eventually we split off though. I can't say I don't miss them, but being on my own these past few months has been interesting." He didn't seem particularly regretful all things considered, though it was obvious that the group he was with in the past was something he was very close to.

Pixie When the Persian got up she realized that she'd been sitting here talking with him for a decent amount of time. Pixie stretched out and sat back down while the Persian stretched his legs. " Being alone after a while of doing someting in a group, or vice versa, is always different. Or at least thats the way I see it." The Vulpix chuckles while reminiscing. " I know for a few months when I was younger, I basically pushed away everybody in our community, Vulpix, Ninetails, and otherwise, and Frankie was the only one who really attempted to do anything with me. And I thank him for that, but when I let others back in, I basically had to re-learn all the social skills I had learned beforehand" Maybe it was just because she was so young that she forgot the skills, she didn't know, after all, what happened hopefully wouldn't happen again...... hopefully.

Cedric Cedric carefully settled back down after having comfortably stretched out. That was a bit better. Staying still too long always made him feel so tense for some reason. He'd never been able to really just "sit down" since he evolved... something always pushed him to keep moving, if only a little. He gave a soft nod in agreement. " Of course. Doing something on your own isn't the same as doing it with someone else." It just wasn't, by definition. It was different from something else, so of course it wasn't the same. " I can understand that, though." He cut the silence with a quick comment before continuing. " I didn't get along with many people myself. It was mostly just me and my uncle."

((btw thanks for the help with the sprite 3nodding ))  Pixie" Just you and your uncle huh? You two must've been close" The Vulpix smiles so big that her eyes basically close. She know that if it was just her and one of her relatives, they would've been close, but since she had a big enough extended family that when we really got together, it took most of the time catching up. Maybe that's an exaggeration. She's never really thought about it before.

Cedric " Yeah, we were close." Cedric gave the curt reply and then said nothing else. He didn't feel like saying anything else on the matter; it was one thing loosely discussing his past... It was another thing entirely to start talking about his uncle. That wasn't something he was going to tell a random Vulpix about, especially not one he had met in the middle of nowhere. Only four other people knew about Cedric and his family and the Persian saw no reason to add to that count. ((No problem.))

Pixie She could tell that he didn't want to talk about his uncle anymore. It was quite obvious. And she wasn't gonna push it. They just met after all. The Vulpix shifts a little bit, pushes a few rocks around akwardly, and looks at the surroundings. There wasn't much to move on to from where he cut off..... " Sooo... ummm...what kind of places do you usually explore?"
