Gailor sobbed with relief and buried his face in the doctor's labcoat. He always felt better in the presence of his doctor, although he couldn't say why. Stein said something to him, but he didn't really hear because his ears were full of coat.

Dr. Franken Stein

Stein sighed. "Yes. I'm amazing. Very well. Please unstick yourself from me so that I may continue with my job. Now." As the king seemed unresponsive, Stein gently pried the hands off of his coat and peeled the king off his chest. "Did you hear me, Emil? Don't make a fool of yourself. If you go to my house, find some of my clothes, put them on, and...try to act inconspicuous. Go now." Stein turned, his coat flaring out in an unnecessary (but cool) way. With the kit-bag in his hand, he looked for more survivors, ones that could be healed by normal practical medical application. All this magic-mumbo-jumbo was irritating and unnecessary, and he hoped against hope that there was some sort of God out there, improbable though that was, who would listen to his plea and exterminate it all.

Maka Chaka

Maka glanced to the side to see the girl from before trotting up beside her. She gave her another smile. "Yeah, sure, if you can keep up! We've got to get General Ickz, who might lend his troops to us if we're lucky. I bet he will, he's a good man." Maka referred to General Ickz as a man for a few simple reasons. One, Ickz had joined the army while they were only accepting men. Two, people took Ickz seriously if they thought she was a man. Not so much in any other way, though, as women weren't taken too seriously. Even Ickz didn't respect other women unless they proved themselves assertively to her more than once. Maka had already done this via sparring and learning to fight from her brother. As Ickz said, if you didn't die fighting Bartholomeus, you had her respect right as rain. Maka was clearly alive, so she had gained respect. Mira, on the other hand...

Maka glanced at the girl next to her, and mentally grimaced. She was everything Ickz didn't like women lowering themselves to. The long hair was especially bad. But externally, she gave a nervous smile. "I always feel nervous introducing people to her, because she's like a pot of boiling oil. Y'know? You can never tell when she's going to tip over and scald you hard."

Tak T. Ickz

Tak had just spent a full half hour explaining the plan to her men. There was something about her subordinates that made her want to smack them about and yell in their ears, 'JESUS, GET IT INTO YOUR THICK, THICK SKULL! YOU JUST AMBUSH THEM, IS THAT REALLY SO HARD?!' But no, she had to explain the exact same thing THREE TIMES. Three times is too many. Finally, she finished for the third time. "...And I'll run in and grab the prince, and take him out to Stein. When I'm completely gone, fight the others back and then follow. I don't want ANY of you dead, is that PERFECTLY clear?"

A small, but not timid hand raised in the back. She sighed. "Yes, 'Schloop'?"

The boy, 'Schloop', as he called himself, was about fourteen. He was not the brightest candle in the temple, but he had good, happy moral, and a handy knack for not dying. He was also one of the few soldiers who had caught on to her real gender, and the only one who had openly admitted to this. He was very sweet, but he asked too many questions. "General Ickz, what happens if a comrade falls to an enemy blade? Can we try to kill 'em then?"

Tak sighed. "I said I didn't want any of YOU GUYS dead, 'Schloop'. Kill them if you will, but if you end up dead I will personally bring you back to life so I can kill you again." The weird thing about 'Schloop' was that he just nodded happily to this. Why he was happy, she didn't know. She also didn't really want to know. "Alright, men! Move out!"

~!~

Tak and the men got into full position for the ambush as one of the boys returned from somewhere and mentioned that it was 'the second time'. Tak didn't know what it was the second time OF, but she didn't really care. She waited for the signal and watched as 'Schloop', right on cue, strode forward from the road into the forest and among the small group. All her hope for him, however, was blown away like chaff from a mill as he made his 'arrest'.

"Hey! Sorry to hafta be the one ta inform you, but you guys are kinda under arrest fer terrorism and rebellion and..." The boy stopped for a moment to think. "...some other stuff, I forget. Anyway, you can either all come with us, or you can just, y'know, give up the...prince? Princess? I forget which one. Either way, please don't use force, or I'll hafta..." Schloop stopped. He seemed to be reaching for words he thought were there. "...I dunno. I'll do something." He gave one of his apologetic grins, which was visible, as he wasn't high rank enough to bear much armor, and certainly hadn't earned a helmet.

In the bushes, Tak silently facepalmed. She couldn't believe she'd trusted this to Schloop. They wouldn't take him seriously, and they might even kill him, or at least hurt him. These people had killed a hundred men before, why was one child any different? Tak cursed. She'd have to improvise. Improvise on the plan she'd spend half an hour explaining. She wanted to hurt someone. But the only thing she could do was to help.

And so, she stood.

"That's right. Listen to the boy, and listen to me. All we want is the prince. I promise on the Light of the Holy, I will not cause harm to him, and neither will the king or anyone else. All we want is to put him, or all of you, in jail to prevent another terrorist attack." Her eyes narrowed, and her voice(which she had made to sound deeper, like a tenor's voice) did not falter or break. "You are surrounded. Give yourselves up."

With a placid smile the great king sauntered over to Stein's house and changed into what he thought was attire befitting a peasant. This meant that he was wearing a mismatched mess of threadbare clothing from all seasons and weather types.

He kept the crown though, he liked it.

Bjorn had been slumped against a tree at the time, getting some burrs out of the blade of his claymore when the voice spoke. He glanced up at the single figure, then toward the voice's location.
His eyes travelled the perimeter of their camp. His trained eyes, eyes that had worked with metal for years and had seen armour on the battlefield as well spotted a few glints of light on steel armour.
He looked up at Hana and Aki, a bit of a grin on his face.
"Overwhelming odds, it seems." he said casually. "Isn't that just how we like it?"

Hana glared at the Gailor soldiers that ambushed them. "You'll take Aki over my dead body!" she yelled and sent a chi blast at them.
Aki caught some movement out of the corner of his eye, so he looked. There were Gailor soldiers, a lot of them. He heard movement behind them as well, indicating that more were behind them.
"Tch...There are too many...We won't be able to fight them all off..." he muttered. Then he had an idea. He looked at the others. "They're after me. I'll lead them away and split them up."

"Aki, no. That's too risky," Hana said.
"We don't have much choice," Aki said.

A spear of some type was thrown into the fray toward Aki and Hana, from behind. Bjorn was up in a flash and cut the spear in two, the two pieces flying uselessly aside. He looked over at them while they discussed the plan.
"Aki is right." he said quietly, turning to face some of the other soldiers.

"Then I'm coming with you!" Hana said.
Aki, knowing they didn't have time to argue, said, "Fine." To Bjorn, he added, "We'll meet up with you later." Then he and Hana ran off in the direction where there were the least soldiers, Aki drawing his blade. The soldiers all ran in fear of the sword with lightning streaking across its blade. Aki and Hana soon disappeared among the trees.

((Uh, dude. Demondays. The men were given specific orders not to do anything that could cause the death of themselves, to be insanely self-preservative. They would not have gone chasing after Aki and Hana.))

"My prayers go up to Bevaita..."

The moment he had come back he heard more footsteps. At first it was muddled. Then it grew louder and louder with each passing moment. The he heard voices that hea was not familiar with. It was a voice of what seemed to be a young boy. However it was then replaced by a woman's voice which rang with commanding authority. She spoke about wanting the prince, Aki. It was at her last sentence "You are surrounded. Give yourselves up." that Laptus' irritation boiled to the breaking point. He face grew dark as the seconds flew by. 'That is the THIRD TIME. Not second, not first, but the third time!!!' He was clearly frustrated but he drew a calm breath and allowed the anger to dissapate. It was after that, that Aki and Hana made their move. Studying their movements he assumed that Aki was about to lead the soilders away from them. When they did start to move out he yelled out hoping it would reach them in time "Be careful! There may be more mercenarys like last time!"

"And may my heart bleed for you..."

((sorry, a bit distracted Irl..switched it so he only attacks when he gets to the lead person.))

User Image Renka had just stopped the minor blood flow when he heard several things, more footsteps and a boy telling the 'friendly' group to give up the prince. One really good thing that came out of him staying away from that little group was the fact he had gone unnoticed, hidden by some brush.. He was in the perfect place to break through and get to their leader too..
When the prince and the girl ran, Renka made his move and ran past a handful of soldiers, then jumped over toward their leader and quickly spun around as he landed, making a 360 slice with his scythe aimed at the waist of any enemy nearby.. though the leader of the soldiers was his real target. Part of why he jumped right in the center of the enemy was to maybe spare the prince from more soldiers.

Sei glanced over as the king left, to go get different clothes from what she heard, as she tended to one of few survivors she could actually treat. If she could be the guard for the king it would certainly prove that she was a worthy warrior..then she'd go back and finish off the village and that little spoiled brother.

[Sorry, I must have missed that. I'll delete that post.

Although it would seem a little strange to let two high value targets go by not going after them, that's why I posted that.]

((Except it wouldn't be that strange, given this odd thing humans call a self preservation instinct. They know that these rebels killed over a hundred people in cold blood -- what distinguishes them from highly trained men?))
