"Damn straight you are." Damage wasn't bad, and if the parasite was around they would have some nice test footage.

"I pay you to throw ice spears at people," He paused even though she knew what he would say, "I don't want people to know I hire you to throw ice spears at people. So you're gonna show up like the rest of the questionable employees and pretend you do legitimate work."

"Most of these people will be so drunk that it doesn't matter what you do anyway. So not being there will cause more questions than being there and say... Making an a** out of one of the strung up jackasses."

"Thirteen and a half o'clock." He deadpanned, "Or maybe pi to five."

"I don't give a flying ********," He burst out as he flopped against the wall, "It's pointless paperwork and I've got two trashed floors. Unless you want to fill out the real paper work that deals with this. ********, I'm getting a headache just thinking about it."

"PR nightmare." He trailed off as he thought of all the lies he would have to tell, all the deals Claire would have to make, all the sketchy accounting lester would have to use, and all the bullets Charlie would have to "lose".

That was a surprise.

"Well, if you want to help Claire and myself nobodies stopping you."

Wait, she said she was with Allen and Sey. Where there's smoke...

"With Allen and Sey," he changed the topic abruptly, "Was there a guy with really piercing green eyes? Uses a halberd and makes stuff die with green energy crap."

"I need to talk to him, would help if I knew where the ******** he was."

"One sec Ely. On the other hand, never mind, we'll talk about it when you get here. Have a good food eat." He hung up.

"Worker," Joseph had a bad habit of talking to machines like people. While this mostly applied to swearing at computers it worked to his advantage this time, "Are you functional enough to make a damage report and a battle report?"

"If you're not, just shake your head like this." He demonstrated, "That's some of the weird a** human body language you're gonna have to get used to."

"Damnit." Grabowski was dead, a brilliant mind lost.

"Worker," He paused to think what the hell to do, "Have the parasite upload anything it collected to the wireless network. Should be up now. Then I'm going to have somebody come up here and repair you."

"This is the important part." He motioned to the parasite, "Do not shut down the parasite when you go into standby mode. Have it watch it so you can better understand your machinery."

"Command understood?"

At this time Dan would hear his cell phone go off, the ID ((or even the ringtone ninja )), displaying "The Chauffeur" as the caller.

"It's good to hear you too, sweet pea," Charles said with a laugh. "I'm not sure as to where I am exactly. I'm somewhere in Barton Forest; an inn, or what is left of one, in the middle of nowhere. Amazing how the sewer systems work in this town...

"I've got one of the two armored vans, the other abandoned near what's left of an underground bunker- both will be needing t.l.c. in the body shop. I also abandoned a motorbike near a homemade manhole.

On another note, you won't believe who I've got in the van with me. The Sey Kaikou... not that there's any other Sey's I know of... She's being escorted back to the Temple of Falis by myself, a Miss Sam Browning, and a few others.

"I was in close pursuit of one of the cores, even saw its curse. A rag-tag group of men, one really fast, one with a ******** blowtorch, and one that could change into a liquid form, had it. Sey and Stryphe- yes, Stryphe, came to my assistance in the pursuit. Stryphe poofed out of there, but Sey was with me until the end.

"I.... " The Chauffeur sighed in irritation. "I failed to apprehend the core. But now I can easily identify the people in posession of it, which means I'd have no trouble in apprehending it. That's... pretty much it. Do you wish me to pursue?
