"Within every lie, there is truth
Within every illusion, there is reality"

Akeru had already wasted a good portion of the morning working on learning and mastering one of the many techniques she had planned to use with her kekei genkai, the Tenraigan. From what she knew about her clan, it didn't seem to exist anymore. She didn't know if she was the last survivor or not, all she did know was that there wasn't anyone around that could teach her techniques unique to the clan based on it. Luckily for her, she was inventive, and she had come up with her own uses for it, even if they were a little unorthodox.

Now that she had the chance to develop these moves, she was ready to test out as much of them as she had the energy for. The guy that she had tricked into helping her, was focused on something else.

"It's great that you were able to teach yourself a new genjutsu. You know what, I think we should celebrate. Maybe we could...go out for a bite to eat?"

Of course the first words that came to Akeru's mind were 'hell no!', but she reminded herself that she needed this guy. She gave him a smile again, but it was clear that she was a little tired.

"Well, that does sound nice, but I only have time t train now because almost everybody's gone to the exams. I need to get as much training done as I can. We might be sent on missions right when the kazekage gets back and I don't want to end up being a burden on my squad..."

The guy sighed, he had hoped that Akeru would take a break, and he could use that time to make a move, but she seemed intent on training at the moment.

"Okay then, I guess we'll skip lunch and have dinner after you're done training!"

"Err...y-yeah, sure..."

Akeru would have to find a way out of that little promise later. For now she would just focus on her techniques.

"Alright, this next technique should be a lot like the last one. This one will be geared more towards taijutsu fighters who aren't as dependant on their chakra level. I'll make a connection like last time, but this time I'll use my chakra to interfere with the flow of electrical pulses to your muscles. It should start to make your muscles feel weaker, and you'll feel almost like you've doubled in weight."

This time the boy was a little more skeptical of what Akeru was doing. He knew that messing with the electrical signals in his body could do something drastic, like paralyze him.

"Err...I don't know about this one. It seems...a little dangerous. What if something goes wrong?"

"Don't worry, it won't be dangerous at all! If I could paralyze people like this, then I'd just use that as my technique instead doing this. Remember, its all an illusion, none of it can really do any damage."

The boy sighed again, seemingly starting to wonder if opting to help Akeru was worth it. Still, he got ready for the genjutsu to be used on him.

Akeru cleared her mind so she could focus on the technique. Just like she had said, she couldn't do any real damage; at most if she failed, she could cause a few spasms in the guy. But even that would probably scare him off at this point. Akeru focused her chakra once again, letting it flow through her connection to the boy and flow through his body to his muscles. From there, it was simply letting her chakra obstruct the path of the electrical pulses that caused movement. With the signal weakened, it would cause the reaction to weaken as well. The target would try to move with the force to lift 200 pounds, and find themselves only able to manage 100. It would be perfect, since taijutsu users were usually less prepared for genjutsu in the first place, and this could severely limit their speed and power advantages. She was slightly annoyed with herself, since this was definitely something she could have used during the exams.

It took Akeru a wile to get used to having her chakra travel through her target's nervous system instead of the chakra system, but she eventually got the hand of it. When her genjutsu was finally in place, it was obvious. The boy's legs seemed to buckle, as they seemed to be having trouble lifting his weight.

"Oh man, it really does feel like I'm much heavier. A can barely even move around. Uhh...can you reverse this now, its really uncomfortable."

"Y-yeah, of course..."

Akeru definitely seemed to be much more tired after completing the technique. Most people took days to develop a new technique, and she was trying to do multiple in one day, so she was straining herself much further than she should have been. Akeru could feel the sweat rolling down her, she was beginning to feel a little lightheaded, and she was starving. Maybe she would take him up on that offer for dinner, just to get the free meal...

Akeru,

The time has come for you to travel to the chunin exams. I have left a clone behind that has kept an eye on your training. Due to your willingness to accept this "punishment" of sorts I will classify it as a mission. Congratulations, I consider you a ninja of the Sand Village.

Kazuki ran into the training canyons. He wanted desperately to resume his training. His father couldn't join him today so he'd have to finish by himself.
Kazuki returned to his former training ground that he had left and resumed his old pulling of the cart. He attempted to pull the cart and found that one or two days of not training had left him weak. He walked over to a nearby rock face and began to climb it using only his hands. This was tough work but he managed to make his way up the face of the rock after 20 minutes. His arms ached from the strain he had just placed on them, but now that he felt he had warmed up and was ready to start pulling again.
He moved back down the rock face by jumping down and he hooked himself back up to the cart. He began to pull it forward inches at first but before long, after a minute of straining himself he was able to begin moving feet and soon yards. He smiled as he pulled the cart along easily. Now he needed to continue the rest of his training now that he could do this portion of his training easily.

Kazuki sighed and rested before continuing his training.
After 20 minutes of rest he made his way to a high, jagged rock wall about 30 feet high. He took a deep breath and began to climb it.
For about the first 10 feet it was easy straight forward climbing, nice and even sides and easy handholds. After that the wall got harder, difficult little cracks that made for poor handholds and very small rocks for tough foot holds. Kazuki was about 15 feet above the ground when he felt the rock beneath him begin to give way. "Great." He managed to stuff his hands into a crack before losing his footing. Then he realized that he was stuck. If he removed his hands he'd fall. He had wanted to do this without using chakra to his hands or feet to avoid falling but now it seemed like it was necessary to do so. He moved some chakra down to his feet and placed them against the wall. Since he couldn't place his full flat foot against the wall he only placed his toes. This allowed him to remove his hands from the crack and continue up until he found another place to put his feet. Once he did find a spot, he stopped chakra flow to his feet and began moving up again.
The last ten feet was going to be the hardest part, the rock face jutted out to an almost 90 degree angle for about 5 feet and then a short easy climb to the top. Kazuki wondered for a moment on how that stayed there without falling off on its own weight. He knew he'd have to use chakra on his hands this time to finish the climb. When he got to the steep turn angle he directed chakra to his hands and used them as a sort of glue, placing one palm completely on the rock roof above him to cross, one at a time. After that he scrambled up the rest of the way easily.
After about a good forty five minutes Kazuki had finally made it to the top. His arms were blazing but his legs were fine. He smiled and lay on his back for a while panting. He was tired and happy, a good combination in his mind.

Kazuki was pretty tired but he got up and looked down the rock wall. Another Sand genin he didn't know was at the bottom, looking up at Kazuki. Kazuki cocked his head at the guy.
"What's up? Can I help you with something?"
The genin nodded. "Yeah, I'm here to fight you. I heard you went to the Chunin Exams. I want to prepare for that so let me fight you."
Kazuki shrugged. This guy looked pretty new so he figured he could take him. Besides this was a perfect chance to practice that one move his dad had told him about.
"Should I come down to you or should you come to me?"
"Whatever works, I'll come to you if you want."
Kazuki shook his head."It'll be better for my training for me to come to you." He let chakra flow to his feet and ran down the side of the wall. He let his momentum and gravity keep him going. Right before the bottom, he jumped away from the wall, flipped, hit the ground, and rolled to absorb the fall. He stood up and moved into a ready stance. "Ready?"
"When you are...."
It's ON!!!

"Even the most gentle wind
Can become a great hurricane"

User ImageAs Akira continued to contemplate how to increase his own attack effectiveness against defensive-minded opponents, he walked through the training canyons. When he went to his father, he wanted some sort of idea what he needed to train in, or else his father would make him do 'strength and endurance' training. Such a training with his father was just asking to die, so until he did have an idea, he was going to stay away from home.

As he walked through the canyons, he looked at all the other ninja who were training, trying to gather an idea from them. Sadly, nothing came to mind. He then saw Kazuki there, and it seemed one of the other genin had challenged him to a sparring match.

"Hey, Kazuki. Doing a bit of training, I see..."

Akira looked from Kazuki to the other genin. It looked like Kazuki was the stronger opponent.

"I'm trying to develop a way to pierce through guards myself. I just realized I haven't seen you fight yet, mind if I watch?"

Kazuki activated his Carsingan eye, changing his iris color from its normal green to yellow. He needed this to be active so to use the technique. The genin charged him, making hand signs and moving his hands up to his mouth. He brought his head back, taking in a sharp breath of air. As Kazuki watched, he could see Wind chakra welling up through him toward his mouth. "A wind technique huh?" The boy smiled and began to come forward and began to blow a gust of wind out. Kazuki took a deep breath and began to move toward the genin at full speed. The genin's eyes widened but continued to blow out his attack. Kazuki body flickered around the boy's backside as his attack ripped through the spot Kazuki had just been. He began to turn around and as soon as his chin was visible Kazuki gave him a sharp upward kick to send him into the air. He then jumped up behind the boy and body flickered directly behind him. The boy gasped."Kage Buyo?!" Kazuki smiled and replied, "Yeah, that's right. BUT unlike the other combos or moves you've seen that follow this one is completely original." He struck the boys shoulders with his Raiken to send a slight shock through them, shocking the boy. He began to speed up his strikes, two per second, four per second, six per second. He just kept striking the boy's back. The boy let out small gasps of pain as the shocks continued to pulse through him. Finally, Kazuki wrapped his legs around the boys middle and swung the boy towards the ground. The boy attempted to break free but Kazuki grabbed his wrists with his hands, keeping the boy's back arched and him helpless to move anything. He tried to kick around but it didn't help him get anywhere so he gave up and he accepted his loss and slammed into the ground, Kazuki flipping off right as they hit the ground. Luckily, the sand was soft and it cushioned his fall into the ground.
The genin was barely conscious on the ground in the sand. He raised his head slowly and looked at Kazuki who had landed next to him. Kazuki met his gaze and smiled. "It worked." The genin looked at him skeptically."What?!? That was the first time you did that? And you did it flawlessly?!?!? You really are awesome." Kazuki nodded. "Thanks for the fight. It helped a lot." He helped the genin to his feet."You might need to be taken to the hospital. Let me help you out. And make sure to find me again so I can thank you properly and we can have a rematch."
He helped the boy out of the training canyons and to the hospital. After making sure he was at the hospital and securely taken care of, he headed home. He was tired and had learned his new move and finished his training. That meant it was time to head home, eat a huge dinner, and sleep. He smiled and began to head back to the training canyons. He'd home when he felt like it. His family would understand. He hoped he'd get a mission soon.

He waved at Akira as he returned to the canyons. He grinned and faced him. "So how was that Akira? What do you think?"

"Even the most gentle wind

User Image "Well, that was definitely an interesting combination. And that was really your first time performing it?"

The combination did seem powerful, but Akira could see a few flaws in it; not in its excecution, but in the move itself. However, he quickly had to remind himself that not everyone was taught to fight the same way he was, which was probably for the better. Sometimes it was necessary to defeat an opponent without killing them, and that was something Akira had great problems with.

"Unfortunately, watching didn't help me to much. I'm trying to figure out a way to break through defenses like the rock armor technique the winner of the exams used. The more I think about it, the more I realize I wouldn't have done too well in that situation. But I can't think of a way to strike hard enough to pierce it without wasting a lot of chakra. I doubt my swords alone would be enough..."

Kazuki nodded. "Yeah, I've never done that one before. What did you think of it?" He listened to Akira's issue. He knew he wouldn't have a problem blasting through Ren's armor. Lightning was strong against earth jutsu so he figured a strong Lightning pulse or Lightning Bolt from him would take it out easy enough. He had heard of something that might help Akira.
"What type of jutsu can you use again? I use Lightning so it would be easy to bust through an earthen defense but you might need to find a different method if you have a different type of chakra."

"Even the most gentle wind

User Image "Well, I specialize in the wind element, but my real fighting style revolves around defense and quick strikes..."

Akira always felt it difficult to explain his fighting style to anyone else. With his elemental ability, most people didn't see why he would forgo attacking with wind and instead focus on his blades. In this situation, however, it seemed like neither would be good enough. His kaze shuriken wasn't nearly strong enough to pierce a defense like that. He probably could do it using his new kamaitachi technique, but he had to drain a lot of chakra to attempt it.

"During my first strike, I usually try to stick to the shadows and remain hidden, then I strike when my opponent isn't ready. But, with a defensive ability like that armor, my initial strike would be rendered useless. I don't know, maybe I'm just overthinking this and its as simple as me needing a bigger weapon..."

Kazuki put his hand up next to his mouth in a thinking position. "Y'know, maybe you should try to learn a way to learn a way to cut through tough stuff using your wind chakra. I've read that if you use certain weapons that take on your elemental chakra then you can cut through most materials, even rocks and earth."
Kazuki thought about his statement though. Defense? With a wind user? Kazuki hadn't heard of such a thing. Most wind users he had learned of and seen were powerful wind manipulators and could annihilate an entire squad of ninja easily. He was curious of Akira's way of fighting and thought of something really stupid that wasn't a very good idea seeing as how he had just fought with someone else. He hadn't taken any damage though so he figured it couldn't hurt.
"Hey Akira. I've got a crazy idea. I might be able to help you if you let me spar with you. What do you think? Wanna take me on?"

Kazu arrived at the training area, or to be more precise, the training canyons. He was surprised to find no one else here. He had thought that his teammates would be here to greet him, but apparently not. He knew he was going to feel awkward, being the first here. He didn't mind people, but hated feeling awkward when around them. He saw down on the hard stone ground and found a stone to play with luckily.

User Image "Spar? Err...I suppose that would help, but..."

Akira looked down to his swords, frowning a little bit. He always used his blades to fight, and he had never swung a sword before without the intent to kill his opponent with each strike, which made sparring difficult.

"The way I was taught, every strike I make with my swords is either meant to kill my opponent or sent them up for a follow-up strike that is meant to kill. It's been drilled into me since I was big enough to hold a weapon. I'm just not able to hold back. If we did fight, I couldn't guarentee your safety..."

Akira sighed and shrugged his shoulders. It may have seemed arrogant of Akira to say that he didn't want to spar because Kazuki could get hurt, but that was far from true. He knew very well that Kazuki could be stronger than him and possibly beat him. He had no illusions of being better than anyone without having actually fought them first. However, he didn't want to accidentally harm or kill one of his fellow suna ninja in training.

Kazuki smiled. "That's fine. I'll just have to keep an eye on your techniques. I've been trained with almost every ninja tool so I can read most moves before they happen. That includes your swords. I have a sort of a "sixth sense" that gives me a pretty good picture of what's going on around me so don't worry. If you don't hold back then neither will I."
Kazuki raised his hand and gave Akira a thumbs up. He moved into a ready stance and activated his Carsingan, changing his iris color once again. He wasn't going to tell Akira of his kekkei genkai. He'll probably figure it out on his own anyway. If he didn't then Kazuki had over estimated his brains.
He was also curious on what Akira could do and what sort of wind techniques he knew. His father had told him that most ninja can use two types of elemental chakra and his father had said that most Carsing clan members were either Lightning/Water or Lightning/Wind. If he was the latter then it would be good to learn how Wind techniques worked and how they could be used. This would be good training and a good jutsu scouting mission for him. Excellent all around, for me and Akira.

User Image "...If that's what you want, then fine. Just make sure you know your limits, and I'll be sure to do the same. I don't want either of us dying because someone was too proud to admit defeat."

Akira partiallu unsheathed one of his swords, revealing just enough of the sharp edge of the black blade to make a small cut on his finger. He then made the hand seals for his summoning technique, and once the smoke cleared, there was a black falcon on the ground. It quickly turned to Akira, an annoyed look on his face.

"What the fizzity-uck, Akira! Didn't I tell you already not to annoy me with any of your petty crap!? If you keep summoning me for no reason, I'm gonna peck your eyes out!"

"H-Hyabusa, don't be like that...I need your help for a fight."

The bird looked over at Kazuki, a confused look crossing his face.

"But...he's another one of you sand ninja, isn't he? I thought you didn't do sparring..."

"This isn't sparring, Hyabusa...it's an all out fight."

"Oh...is he trying to steal that cute little blonde girl from you? I'm impressed, fighting to claim your woman, very manly of you..."

"W-wha?! I-it's nothing like that! Look, we're just fighting and leave it at that. Now come on, I need your help."

"Pfft, so rude this one! Nothing like your brother...but he did want me to help you out, so I suppose I could spare the time..."

Hyabusa spread his wings and flew up to the sky. It was unclear why Akira summoned the bird, since besides talking, it couldn't do anything special. However, once Hyabusa was in the air, Akira seemed to turn his attention back to Kazuki.

"Err...sorry about that, Hyabusa's kind of difficult to deal with. Anyway, let's get started."

Akira's eyes seemed to narrow, and he was staring at Kazuki with a killer's eyes. There was no mercy in his gaze. He seemed focused on one thing; ending Kazuki's life. He quickly made hand seals, using one of his strongest techniques.

"Wind Element: Whirlwind..."

The winds around Akira began to swirl violently faster and faster until he was surrounded by a tornado. It was only about 10 feet wide and 15 tall, but the winds were moving fast enough that attempting to get to close would have been suicide. However, Kazuki knew that the tornado was centered on Akira, and he had to be even more limited inside. He may have been the one who created the tornado, but he could get ripped to shreds by it too.
