"I'm not blaming you for joining the guild; but cheers for being opportunistic. Jack pretty much ignored the Weavile's explained reasoning; holding up his own glass to accompany his words. Unfortunately the drink didn't survive long enough to see through with his intentions even if they were returned. Within moments shattered shards fell back to the counter along with a bleeding paw; the Lopunny having crushed the glass out of sheer anger within his grasp. He was pissed and in his own mind with good reason. The bartender glared at him for a moment before reluctantly replacing the drink and wiping up the scattered specs of blood and alcohol.

 LucyThe Weavile sighed and shook her head.
"Jack... I know what you're going through. I've gone through a lot of losses, including my own daughter," She said softly.
"I feel even worse that it was my brother who killed Kage..."
The Weavile finished off her drink and pushed the glass aside.
She then spun around in her seat and stared straight at the Lopunny.
"I could never replace Kage, but I still want to be here to help you. If anything, you could go see our local shrink and talk to him."

"I don't need any help." Jack noted with no other additions to that fact."And please don't make yourself sound like a saving grace here, you've already played your own part in all of this..." The Lopunny was now sipping on his drink casually with his opposite hand than the norm, the other limp at his side with a few deep cuts forming a nice puddle on the floor. Though his words were saying one thing; the look of desperation in his eyes along with the fact that he was nearly in tears by this point said otherwise.

LucyLucy glanced at Jack's bloody paw.
"Don't need help, huh?" She said with a frown.
"I'm no saving grace, Jack. You'll have to ask whatever god you believe in for that,"The Weavile then said.
"I'm just a Pokemon trying to help a friend."

Jack repeated the word with curiosity engraved in his voice; taking a moment to contemplate as he downed the remainder of his drink."I don't know where you're pulling that title from; but for dealing with me for this long already you deserve a chance to speak your case." He concluded."Why do I need you?" Sounded like a good place to begin to him.

LucyLucy rested her claws on her thighs and thought for a moment.
"To be honest, you don't. You don't need anybody, you seem perfectly capable of living on our own," She replied.
"You don't need a friend, but you'd be much better off with one."
She lightly placed one of her claws on Jack's paw.
"We're in the same team, and the same goes for your kids and my daughter. Isn't that the basis for a start?" The Weavile asked.

"As long as I'm not obligated to anything I suppose I could at least acknowledge you as a teammate to start." Jack determined, his voice still cracking with sorrow, but as he was touched a soothing feeling came over him, calming all the hurt he was feeling for a moment. It was kinda' strange for him to think of this way, but Lucy was almost like a very much needed motherly figure at the moment."I'm sorry...For everything." He then felt the need to get this key phrase out into the open. He would have elaborated but 'Hey, I forgive you for participating in the death of my husband' sounded a little too straight forward. Hopefully his intentions would be understood and accepted.

"If anything, I should be sorry... I should have expected the kind of injury Kage had, but I didn't..." She explained softly.
"It should have been a routine surgery...But somehow I managed to ******** it up."

Jack appeared paler than his norm for a moment; he had just got over this fact mentally and honestly believed it was simply his anger blaming her for everything. But now it really was her fault. He was torn between forgiveness, breaking down into wails, and screaming until he had no voice left; but by this point he couldn't seem to collect himself enough to even speak. He had never felt this kind of rage before; but at such a kind person it just didn't seem natural. That option then being voided, tears and forgiveness seemed like a reasonable compromise for his subconscious. "I-It wasn't your fault..." He peeped out between sobs, having to bite his own lip afterward before his words became more caustic. All-in-all his mind was a ******** at the moment, at least with good reason though.

At the offer, Jack broke into great wails, passing over the whole general concept of a hug as he collapsed across the lap of the Weavile next to him. Weeping like a small child. Though the alcohol aided this process quite a bit; this subject was still very touchy for him and this reaction should have been suspected from the start.

LucyLucy purred tenderly, stroking Jack's fur as he cried.
Even to Pokemon closer to her age, she felt very motherly.
"Just let it all out, hon. I'm here for you~" She purred.

"It's not fair... It's not fair..." Jack repeated multiple times before his tears waned enough for him to attempt to prop himself upright again. Only succeeding in getting as far as plopping himself face down on the bar's counter; his head buried within his arms. The bright side to all this was at least it seemed he was done bleeding by this point."Why him...?" He peeped out after a moment of silence. Simple words enveloped such a strong meaning.

Jack raised his head and stared with shock for a moment. Maybe his situation wasn't as abnormal as expected. He suddenly felt sorrowful towards Lucy, having stole the spotlight for his own problems thus far had to be a b***h for her to sit through."I'm s-sorry." He apologized in an almost raspy voice, crying having taken it's tole on him.
