she giggled softly not even the least bit bothered by his odd behavior or the hug.
"well then i guess i picked well." she replied cheerfully. "best place to eat in oto. though i come for the bread and tea."

she greatfully took the seat offered to her, it was her usual spot anyways. she didn't even need a menu, she already knew what she wanted.

Respect gets you a lot in this world... Edward propped the menu up in front of him as he sat down, with only the tops of his eyes showing as he scanned down the list. When the waiter came by, he ordered a mildly spicy curry and green tea before laying the menu back down.
"Hmm. I can't make bread too well, but my family made sure I could brew green tea. Maybe I'll invite you over some time for a cup." He grinned behind his mask, wondering if he should restart the little flirting game they had been playing, or if he should wait for her to. Are you worthy of it?

Deza ordered her usual. Black tea, with roles, and mild curry. She smirked at him from behind her mask.
"really now? well then we simply will have to arange for that then won't we? I could never pass up a good cup of tea after all" she commented, she was really glad she wore her mask all the time, but she'd have to take it off soon, after all it's kind of hard to eat while wearing an ANBU mask. she may as well take it off now. she wanted to drink her water anyways. she tentavly removed the beloved mask and pushed her hair from her eyes best she could and then sipped her water happily.

Respect gets you a lot in this world... Edward stared at her intently for a moment, not really having had a chance to back at the Dojo. She really was quite lovely, and old enough for him not to feel like he was robbing the cradle. He grinned slightly when he noticed that she had a faint blush on her cheeks, one that was matched on his.
Still, the man prided himself on fairness, so when the waiter settled his water glass on the table, Edward pulled his mask down and out of the way, taking a slow sip as he studied her over the rim of the glass.
"Hmm, should be fun. Maybe after that I can demonstrate my healing hands." He grinned slightly, the scar at the corner of his mouth pulling it tighter, for once visible without the mask in place. Are you worthy of it?

she laughed softly and smiled sweetly with her head tilted to the side a bit.
"I think that would be interesting." she replied, amusment and enjoyment writen all over her face. it was now evident why she wore it all the time, she couldn't ever hide her feelings or thoughts with out it on, it was writen on her face with obvious evedent "who knows, maybe i could help you relax after that?"
she took another small sip of her water, eyeing him for only a moment, before removing her gaze, knowing that stairing was rude.

Respect gets you a lot in this world... Edward laughed at that one, a wide grin forming on his face as he settled down. He waited for a moment in silence while the waiter placed their teas and the rolls on the table between them, before deftly slicing one open to lay a pat of butter inside.
"Hmm, the question is sweet lady, would you enjoy that as much as getting another chance to try stripping me of something?" He grinned mischievously, slightly put out that she wasn't at least looking at him, but he could feel the shyness mixed in with her other emotions. Are you worthy of it?

she smirked her trademark sly fox like smirk.
"oh you'd be suprised at how fast a medic can strip others of things they hold.... close." she replied she was feeling in an awfly bold mood at the moment, however it would pass soon. she took a single role and ripped it in half. she then took a calm bite out of one of the halfs, not buttering it. "two can play at this game you know, the only difference is i for one am far to stubborn to loose."
she mixed a bit of cream, and some sugar into her tea and sipped at it calmly, her sly smirk still spread across her face. she was clearly not the same as the others in the village. after all, she was raised out side the village, in a smaller fishing village on the river.

Respect gets you a lot in this world... Edward grinned briefly before leaning over and biting the half of a roll she still had in her hand, his lips brushing against her finger tips swiftly.
"Dear Ez, I am nothing if not stubborn. And I have twice the chakra of a Kage..." He trailed off as he drank his tea, winking at her. While most wouldn't know, the medical kunoichi across from him would know that chakra equated with stamina in ninja under the age of sixty, with more chakra meaning more stamina. He hoped she had caught that bit of schooling, but then again, they had only covered that in his second remedial year in the medical Academy before he gave up and moved to Ninjutsu. Are you worthy of it?

Deza's face lit up red for only a moment after he bit her role. she was going to eat that. it flustered her slightly, but she pushed that to the back of her mind. she would have her revenge eventually.
"I've not met a single person more stubborn than me, and while you may be stronger, chances are i still out rank you when it comes to not giving in." she finished the first half of her role and took a sip of her tea she then picked up the second half and took a small bite of it. yes, this would prove to be a very interesting time indeed.

"Oh but my dear Ez, I always outlast. And I always aim to succeed, and in some cases..." He trailed off, his voice slightly sensual. "That means that I aim to please. Massages aren't ALL my hands are good for after all." The curry was set down in front of him and Deza. "I'm also a rather good chef too." He said this blandly, as if that was what he had been leading up to. However, one eye stayed on Deza as he began eating, to see if she reacted to what he had really been meaning. she giggled a bit, a very faint blush on her face.
"you're not the only one. after all there are multiple deffinitions of Shoushen, and a good medic should be able to use at least two of them, yes?" she smirked softly into her tea cup. the longer they talked the more she was growing attached to him, and while attachments were often advised against medics were almost encouraged to create attachments to others, it added to their abilities. unlike typical shinobi, medics had to be soft, and kind, not to mention maintain some of the purest chakra of all, and that was built on their kindness. she ate and drank in a calm slightly dignafied manor, she had also picked up on every double meaning he had thrown at her. she was no fool that was for sure.

Respect gets you a lot in this world... Edward chuckled again, before taking a large bite of curry. As he chewed, he thought introspectively about the young lady across from him. Finally he shrugged.
"Quite the truth." The mentors at the Medical Academy had drilled the same thing into his head, it was one of the few lessons that had carried over. And while he wasn't able to fully implement it like they wanted, he still used the knowledge. For now though, he decided to shelve the Game and learn more about her.
"So tell me Miss Deza Herusu, why did you mecome a medic? Surely not because of that stupid gender expectation, no, you're far too confident for that crap to work. So why did you join?" He looked at her curiously. Are you worthy of it?

a small soft smile made it's way to her face.
"for my mother actually. she's been quite sick for some time now.... that's why i've been out of commition for so long.... i came here after watching a medic tend to what she has. it was very interesting.... i wanted to help her after all she had done for me growing up. so i came to learn and once i was skilled enough i took the time off it would take to make her better, however.... i did not know that while i was learning to be a medic i would fall in love with the very village that taught me. and so, here i am, back after my mother has been returned to perfect health, and back in the village that i care for so much. most may see us as evil, but... we truly mean no harm to others that mean us no harm." it was evident that she truely loved sound. after all, why else would she have returned after she had achieved her goal when she didn't have to? she was odd for a medic, but she was fine with that, because it was what made Deza Herusu who she was.

"Ez, I was the Hokage, you know that right? In all the time I was preparing my village to go to war, I never once thought of Sound as evil. Thinking that someone is evil just because they don't come from where you do is nearly as stupid as the gender expectations people have of shinobi and kunoichi. So you've been learning while helping your mother?" A happy smile traced across his lips. "That's damn good. Too many people forget about the non-ninja once they finish training, but that you remember and enjoy being with her is a blessed thing indeed." Are you worthy of it?

"well thankfully now she is back to full health. i'm just glad she's fine again, however i'll be checking up on her every three or four months, not only to visit, but to be sure she's doing well. what about you? what brings you to Oto?" she took a calm sip of tea. she was curious on this factor. it was odd for a kage to leave their village, but she would deal with that.
