Lin grinned up at him innocently knowing full well he hadn't been to the places she had been, and he hadn't been to the Borderlands, "I've grown up meeting very interesting people, doing amazing things and having just some really weird things happen every once in a while. I guess it's because of the time difference between worlds that it always seems like something is happening but...."

She paused a bit more and then added.

"As I've been told by Sir Valdemar it is rare to meet so many legendary people without having experienced many years of life. The Borderlands it seems attracts interesting people and events."

"Ah," Earendil nodded. "You told me about Aragost ... but who else is there? I mean, other than the rest of the Aldrich family which, it's a miracle no one is accusing us of trying to start another kingdom."

There were a few people who had suggested that perhaps the Aldrich family was trying to take over the world, but it was unintentional ... they just happened to marry the rulers of the other nations, was all.

Lin blinked at that comment, it sounded so weird to her it was almost funny. Seriously who would want to start another kingdom anyways? It wasn't like there was a need for one, it would just become one day one of the best places to buy horses.

"Well Elros use to live there, but he's now Captain of the Eastland's guards. He's interesting because he's a third generation elf, so he knows a lot and remembers those trees that use to be the light for the world. Then, there's Celeborn, he helps with the shift arrangement since Elros left. Celeborn I believe was part of the Westland army, he has a black rose on his neck. He said when I was little he got it so people would think twice about fighting him, he got tired of fighting stupid people."

Stupid people as in namely humans, but personally if Lin ever so desired to get a tattoo she decided the neck was the last place she would want it.

"Sir Leith and Sir Boudwin, I'm not sure how old they are, but I think at least Sir Boudwin is quite old. It's hard to understand them sometimes because they speak very, very formal common tongue. It's just easier to speak in elvish."

In fact she was pretty sure, that in the last very few times she's talked to them elvish was the language of choice for simplicity sake.

"There's also Gweathir, though no one really sees him a lot. He's a hunter, and so he goes out a lot. And then there are the more recent additions, well not recent anymore it's been many years. Caranthir and Aerin... I don't know much about them, except what I have been told by Sir Valdemar is quite enlightening. Aerin hunts dragons, for what reason I don't know, but she's a legend for that, so is Caranthir... apparently he comes around when there's a need for him. Otherwise I don't know much about them."

She paused again and then added.

"I'm probably missing people, there's still Halmir and Artheal and so on.... so many people...."

Earendil blinked at Lin. "I remember Sir Boudwin and Sir Leith," he murmured softly. "They were around when I was little ... Sir Leith always let me play with the unicorns ... and Sir Boudwin was always with Ninako, until they left ..."

He smiled warmly. "I would like very much to see them again. And everyone else you're talking about, it sounds very interesting. I'd heard the legend of Aerin, the Dragon-Killer ... and Caranthir, the Mystery ..."

He laughed. "It seems that the Borderlands do seem to attract the most interesting people. How I would love to visit there and see them all!"

"Well you can....." Lin murmured.

The idea of Sir Leith letting Earendil play with unicorns made her smile, because she remembered how amazing it was that he trained the horses. Sir Leith had very little like for horses it seemed.

"I believe it was Elros who suggested we should go together, and stay for the winter. Since, you haven't seen snow yet."

"Yeah?" Earendil brightened up at the thought. "Would you want to go when we get back from this trip? Or do you think that you would want to go home first, and then we could go another time?"

He didn't want to force her into anything, and if she was too tired when they first got back, he would understand. After all, it was going to be a while ... this was the first island they had come across, and who knew how many more there would be?

On one sense Lin knew she should head back before anyone worried, on the other hand with the time difference people wouldn't notice that much and they knew she would be gone for a long while anyways.

"I think... that maybe I'll go after we get back from this trip," Lin finally replied.

Earendil chuckled. "Sounds like a plan. But we'll rest up a bit first, what do you think? Few days at least, since we'll have to ride from Namonuito again. But first, we should get ready for our little venture here. Shall we get our things together? Then we can rest until the morning knowing we have everything we need."

Lin nodded at this, "That sounds good, maybe Senka and the butterflies can come along. Senka I'm sure probably wants to do something."

She wouldn't be surprised that Senka was probably bouncing off the proverbial walls by now. It had been the longest period of time they've been apart since she got Senka.

Earendil nodded. "That would probably be a good idea," he agreed. He paused for a moment, then added, "What about Storm and Starr? I'm not entirely certain, but ... I think they may be ready to see more than just the beach. Maybe I didn't pay too much attention to them on the ship, but they seem a bit ..."

He hesitated, searching for the right word. "Withdrawn ... perhaps ... I know they've been withdrawn for a while, but it seems to be getting a bit worse ..."

Lin looked thoughtful, she didn't know if they had ever talked about with Rhea whatever it was that was bothering them. She nodded at this.

"Maybe being on the ship for so long agreed with them?" though she didn't know what they were like now since they got off the ship, "Let's ask them, maybe they would be interested in seeing what is here."

"I don't know," Earendil admitted, rising to his feet again. He looked around for the twins. "All I know is, they've been keeping as close to the jungle as possible, as if they don't like the sand somehow ..."

He pointed off to where the two sat at the fire furthest from the shore. "There they are."

Now that sounded odd, they didn't like the sand. She wondered if perhaps something happened on a beach. Though that didn't make any sense the only beach she could think of that any one could have been to was the one in the Seconds World.

"Storm! Starr!" Lin waved to the two off in a distance before hurrying her steps to meet up with them.

Storm and Starr looked up as they heard their names called, and both of them waved back to Lin. Storm turned back to their little fire, hugging his knees to his chest, but Starr got to her feet and smiled at Lin and Earendil as they came closer.

"We have some extra dinner, if you want some," she offered, motioning towards their fire, where several fish were roasting slowly on a spit.

Earendil grinned at the two. "Well, I haven't eaten yet," he told them, "though I'm not sure about Lin."

Lin shook her head, "I haven't eaten yet neither. Thanks."

She grinned widely as she moved to take a seat besides Storm. Though she couldn't help but notice how he wasn't that happy.

"Earendil and I were wondering if you'd want to join us in charting the island."
