"Still got a lot to learn about traps..." the stranger laughed as he allowed for the first strike to happen. The moment the sword hit his body, the clone suddenly exploded with the force of three explosive tags. However, the clone made sure to jump back just as the strike connected. This way, the explosion wouldn't completely take Kay out of commission, just hurt him enough to make him wary about charging in head first into battle without knowing everything about the situation first.
(This trap was actually set for Aeden...but this works too xd )
Boufuu Bakuhatsu Bunshin no Jutsu (Wind Explosion Clone)
Description: A deadly attack formed by modifying any bunshin that requires the usage of wind during creation. Upon its destruction, the wind that is used to create the being suddenly explodes outwards with great force. The results can be deadly, especially to those around the clone. There is virtually no way to tell the difference. The clone detonates with the force of three explosion tags, enough cause serious damage to anyone caught within the brunt of the blast without protection, requiring immediate medical attention. One clone may be made for every ten reserves of the user's.

He had made an error... a miscalculation if you would. Charging head on into battle was a terrible idea, especially with the kind of intel he could gain with his Otosan. He rolled back a few times, before he gathered himself and stopped the momentum. He was bruised pretty bad, and had singes along his arm. His blade had landed near where he stopped rolling, and as he grabbed it he took note of pain in his ribs. He wasn't fully healed from that yet, but he was still eager to fight. Back on his feet and more ready than ever, he focused on hearing everything around him. When Zane showed himself Kay would be prepared for it. The sound of puppets, hollow, possibly filled with paper bombs, wood against wood... it was all rooted into his brain now... The manticore, using his tail without stinging him, lifted Kay onto his back. He apparently knew Zane wasn't present, and airlifted him off into the sky. In the air, Kay came to another conclusion. If the man was using puppets and clones, than it meant he had to be somewhere that he had a good view of everything. Only one place came to mind...

(Well...puppets have a range. Ex: I can't exactly be at the Kazekage Tower and yet have a puppet at the crevice. This fact should have hinted at my location )

A silhouette of a woman appeared on a roof top, observing the scene. Her arms were folded under her chest, legs slightly spread apart. The woman had long hair, currently tied upon her head, two feathers sticking out. Her eyebrows were furrowed, eyes glaring down at the world below her. Her Kazekage robes covered her battle attire. Kay seemed hurt, the Manticore poised to attack an absent enemy. Even Aeden seemed to not know exactly where the enemy was.
Jade took in a deep breath, golden chakra enveloping her legs. She couldn't help it. Jade was angry. Angry someone who the village once loved and looked up to could fall so hard, to even attack it. How dare he hurt someone who loved him, how dare he invade a village no longer his. Her face remained impassive, as she waited for her enemy to show his face.
When it was evident that he was not around, Jade cast her mind out, thinking of the next step. If she had been a terrorist, Jade would be sure to wipe out the next generation of ninja. So, with a quick hop away, she headed off to check on the training facility. Her maternal instincts had kicked in, and worry for her young genin made her rush away.

 Akura BashirouSunagakure | Puppet Master | GeninSpeed { Shunko } Tactical~ The genin's red hair fluttered in the air, the sand of the desert blowing slightly with the wind. Akura paced around slowly, looking around, making sure no one was hurt here due to Zane's attack, though as far as he knew the ex kazekage was never here. The genin faced toward the puppet shop for a moment and sighed. Being a normal customer for that store would mean that Akura didn't have to pay up front, he could ask, or beg if he had to, for a tab in said shop since he was pretty low on money. The genin entered the store and sighed. " Yoh, I'm in need of some supplies, mind if I look around?" Akura asked the owner, while the man just nodded. " Knock yourself out." The man told Akura, and the boy just nodded looked around the store, constantly picking up some supplies and placing them on top of the desk in which the owner had the cashregister. After a while, Akura had blueprints for twenty puppets; spare parts for arms, legs and suck, steel and iron that would serve for puppet parts, and other things to build puppets. Along with that he had large amounts of wood. For himself he got twenty eight Kunai, trading in all of his shuriken, or most of them that is. Along with that he also got a few manuals, things that would help him use his tools in a better way, not just tossing kunai around hoping to get a hit or two. Along with the tools he bought, there where around twenty three paper tags and ten Makabishi, as well as 3 smoke bombs and five flash bangs. With all of those things on the counter Akura sighed and gave the man a bit of money. " This is allI have.. Mind if I open a tab?" Akura asked the man, a little nervous on how he might respond. He only sighed. " I'll allow it... Only if you tell me what happened to the tower." The man asked, which only made Akura sigh. " You see... Our last Kazekage...Zane... Attacked the village." Akura told the man, lowering his head slightly, the genin then took all of the things and letf for the dunes. ~ [Chakra: 25/25]

Karonashi stumbled around the market slowly. He had been leaning against the shop that Akura had entered. And while his friend hadn't spotted the other shinobi, Karo had heard every word, including that Zane had apparently returned and attacked the tower. He remembered the former Kazekage, or at least, the only encounter he had ever had with the man - that strange vial that the man had tried getting everyone to drink, before suddenly vanishing.
The only thing he didn't understand was what Jade had been doing. That woman had taken on Cloverfield head-on, and had an insanely powerful summon. So if Zane had attacked the tower, why hadn't Jade tried stopping him? He bit his thumb as he leaned against a low wall - he had managed to avoid most everyone since hearing that, his thoughts in too much turmoil.
He knew that he wasn't strong enough to try anything, but he hadn't seen a sign of David in days. And unlike some overeager people, he wasn't sure he wanted to try learning on his own. He knew what could happen if he messed up a technique - he could easily drain himself of life on a mistake, pouring every ounce of his energy into a jutsu that could never work. Even David's lackadaisical overview would be better than nothing. Karo slumped down against a wall and buried his face in his palms with a heavy sigh.

 David GreysonSunagakure | Ichibi | Special JouninTeacher { Sand } Tactical~ Rather than going directly back to his new hole as intended, David headed for the marketplace, popping up out of the sand in the middle of the road, and walking down through. In the recent insanity, he'd completely forgotten that he'd sent Karo shopping, and with the excitement finally over, decided to go looking for him. In this instance, the market seemed the best place to start. Hopefully Zane hadn't collapsed a building on the boy or something. Nearing the center of the market quickly, David couldn't help but note that the damage here appeared to be minimal, likely panic mob damage rather than battle caused. Finally, walking past a puppet supply shop, he spotted the boy and walked up to him. "You alright?" he queried, just to be sure. The boy looked to be fine, but that didn't always seem to mean anything. ~ [Chakra: 90/90]

Karonashi heard footsteps sliding through the sand - and only one person he knew walked like that, could get the sand to support him instead of resisting. He looked up to see David standing over him.
"As good as I can be." He blinked - he had apparently lost track of time more than he had thought. David looked older than he remembered him being, as if he had been gone for weeks instead of the few days he could remember.
"Or maybe not. But I will be." He pushed up from the wall and stumbled a step and shook his head again. "Sorry I'm late...uhm, how late am I exactly?"
