Marie half way laid down on the couch, legs stretched across it, and she was leaning against the arm. A thought crossed her mind and she placed her hand that was closest to him on the side of his neck, and gently caressed what part of his face she could reach and the bit of his neck.

Feeling the warmth of her skin against his neck and face, Bradley pushed his face into her hand. Though it did indeed burn him, it was not completely an unpleasant burn. He closed his eyes and a soft smile inched onto his lean face.

Marie saw the corner of his smile from where she was sitting. It wasn't a big one, but it made her smile a bit all the same. "I have a question...Would you ever kiss me?...again, I mean..." She asked rather quickly, but wasn't worried about it, she was sure he would catch all of what she said. She did do her best to refrain from blushing, but a very faint shade of red tinted her cheeks.

Bradley considered what she had said for a second before rsponding. However, he did not respond in words right away, but in his actions. He spun around in a blur to become face to face with her, and placed a solid arm on either side of her head. He rested his forehead against hers, and smiled softly. "What do you think?" He asked with a strangely mischevious tone to his voice. He spotted her blush, which only widened his grin.

Marie saw his blur of movement considerably better than a normal human, but it wasn't as sharp as if she were a full vampire, so she was still kind of suprised when his arms appeared on either side of her head and his forehead was pressed against hers. She had also caught the tone of his voice, and it only caused her blush to redden. "You know...I can't tell...you changed your mind so rapidly earlier..." She said before barely biting her lip.

Bradley shrugged and leaned back on his haunches. "That was different. That.. suggested more." He said, hesitation in his voice. He wasn't sure how she was going to take his statement, but he hoped she'd do so lightly.

Marie wasn't sure she wanted him to lean away, but he did. "Suggested more? As in what?..." She asked curiously. Since he leaned away, she moved closer, however, she didn't realize it completely.

Bradley watched her get closer to him as he backed up, but wasn't sure how to take it. He figured that rather than answer the question, he could dance around the answer. "Look, I just met you." He said, an uncomfortable edge to his tone. "Just chill out. Life happens."

Marie easily turned her leaning foward into a reach to the coffee table to pick up a book of word searches. There was a pen in the book marking her page. She opened it casually and began working on a new puzzle. "I was just wondering what you meant by it...." She said casually, not looking up from her book.

Trailing her movements with his eyes, Bradley watched her with almost awe. She was so... human, and he, well, he envied her for it. "I mean that I just met you and our kiss earlier suggested sex. I know it wasn't intended that way, but the fire.. it was almost inappropriate for us knowing eachother for such little time." He said, his eyes drifting to the floor. He wasn't sure whether or not she would be offended, or if he had just imagined that fire, but he was preparing himself for the worst possible response he could imagine.

Marie continued to work on her puzzle, taking no time to finish it since her eyes could easily pick out the hidden words. She looked at him briefly after he finished speaking, pursed her lips, then spoke. "I'm not the kind of girl who will take things that far that fast..." She said simply, eyes returning to the book, turning the page to start a new puzzle. She figured that would give him time to respond, or come up with a response. She wasn't offended, after all, he didn't really know her, but now at least he knew.

"I.. I didn't mean it like.." Bradley stuttered, trying to find the right words. "I didn't mean to suggest you were.. I mean.. I.. Oh screw it." He shook his head in his frustration and stood up, walking over to the window. Why couldn't he form a sentence? Because he was angry at himself? Because he was scared he was offending her? He didn't even know.

Marie actually looked up at him, ignoring her book. It wasn't often you heard a vampire stutter. His actions at the moment were also more human than vampire. Quite odd. Then again, so was she. "I know you didn't mean it that way. I understood what you said, gave you a truth about myself, and that was it. No need to feel like you suggested something off about my character." She reassured him, not knowing whether or not she should get up and go over to him. Instead, she placed the wordfind book on the table, closed, put her feet on the ground, elbows on her knees, and looked at him.
