Adela really didn't want him to come with her. After seeing what Clarissa and Elizabeth had done to the Adam, she was a bit uneasy having Saieve around an almost-dead Schraeder. I really didn't think he was going to come. Damn! "Uh, how about this? You just stay there and don't move."
Looking at it logically, there was no reason for her to let him follow. He was an enemy, he ate people, and would have a very good opportunity to eat. On the other hand, she couldn't stop him if he were to follow; she couldn't knock him out with a blow to the head (hooray shredded hands), kick him (she needed to save the energy to run), and probably couldn't run fast. S'what I get for using up so much energy on Schraeder. "Por favor, quedate aqui."
After that, she started sprinting. Please let me lose this guy, please let me lose this guy... If he still continued to follow her, then she'd just find a way to lose him. Or knock him out.

"I'm not stupid." Saieve suggested, "And I'm not clouded by hunger, I'll wait by the entrance while you help your friend. I can see you, you can see me and we're a good couple hundred feet from each other. Besides, guards could show up."
She asked him to stay, then started sprinting, "Confía en mí" he mumbled before running behind her, making no attempt to overcome her. He hoped that the other woman could keep up.
As they reached the entrance, Saieve slid to a halt at the doorway and watched Adela rush over to Schraeder. He gave a short wave should she look back.

She'd ran with everything she could muster in that moment and it still wasn't enough to get away from the cannibal. To be fair, she spent a good majority of her energy on healing Schraeder, so it wasn't like she was at her best shape. Whatever. He just better stay over there. She'd narrowed her eyes at him, but what else could she do?
Screw it, she was going to do what she came over to do. She collapsed in front of Schaeder and gave a tiny smirk. "The things you do for friends." She let out a sigh before putting her hands over his chest (what was it with this man getting hurt?). You better feel good once I'm done. She wanted to stop and regain some energy, but Schraeder didn't have that kind of time. So she kept working until she got some kind of positive reaction from him.
Every once in a while she'd check on Saieve to see if he was getting anywhere near her. Gracias a Dios, he's been true to his word.

Saieve watched contently, leaning against the door frame and tapping his foot while whistling a tune. He paused his whistling and sighed, this wasn't going as well as he had hoped, but at least it was going. To them, he was an animal, a cannibal at best. Kind of like Hannibal, but less classy and genetically mutated by viruses. Thoughts of his mother flooded his mind, did he really eat her? The thought appalled him, but he had eaten someone that day and he has yet to hear from mum.
He slumped against the frame. "¿Está usted hecho todavía?" he called out. While he waited for a response, he turned to the woman. I guess I should explain some things to her.
"Alright, you've been afflicted with some sort of virus that mutates you in some way and makes you want to eat people." he quickly explained, showing his arms as evidence, "They are with people that want to kill us, the same people that made us. That's about all I know, that and we are rejects from some sort of program. I plan to get back into that program so I don't go around blacking out and eating people and I hope to get you back in, too."

Schraeder stirred slightly as she touched him, then awoke with a gasp as her energy poured into him. The sudden jerk sent a white lance of pain straight through his brain, wiping out all thought as he screamed in pain. His throat was definitely bleeding again.
He writhed, his back arched as he tried vainly to escape from the pain that was wracking his body. Adela flinched back and found that it would not really be possible to restrain Schraeder without causing him more pain.
At the other end of the hall, Saieve watched with fascination. He had seen Schraeder before, and it was strange - ohhh, he was missing his arm. That was odd.
As he watched, Schraeder twitched in pain. Saieve felt for the man - it looked excruciating. The way he tried to escape the pain, how he moved on the floor. Saieve shook his head. That looked deliciously painful.
Wait...what?

This really wasn't what Adela wanted to do. She thoroughly hated the fact that she was even causing Schraeder to scream. On the upside, he's not dead. She'd gotten all of the shallow wounds now. She'd even gotten the majority of his arm fixed. It was the deeper wounds that were going to be hard to get to. Her power seemed to first fix the outside and then work its way in. That would be useful information for later, especially since it was something she planned on working on later.
I'm...getting the hang...of this. Schraeder's screams were quieting down, and this time because the pain was lessening. She'd put her hands on his throat to stop the bleeding there - it was far easier than getting to the rest of the body in any case. Please...please stop screaming. I'm trying my best to help you now.
In all the fuss, she'd forgotten to answer Saieve.

Schraeder grasped her hand. Adela knew that he was going to try to push her away, and she unconsciously tensed. This, of course, was felt by Schraeder, who paused.
"Adela," he whispered. She couldn't even hear him at first, but she realized that he wasn't pushing her away, and his lips were moving. She leaned in close to listen.
"Thanks," he murmured, breathing with a slight flutter. Adela couldn't help but smile as she went back to healing his throat.
Saieve continued to grapple with the Hunger.

Saieve licked his lips as he watched. "Wait...no...tengo hombre, no es bueno..." he muttered, putting one hand to his temple and the other to his stomach.
Not good, not good at all. Can't eat the people you want to join, that's a general nono.
-But he looks sooo delicious! Oh! Those screams of delicious pain.-
No! Stop it, no. No. No. No!
-You know you want it.-
Saieve inhaled sharply and cupped his face with both hands, "Oh God, what did A say to do? What worked last time?"
Saieve began to take deep breaths and closed his eyes. "That's right." he sat down, crossing his legs and keeping his eyes shut and relaxing his arms as best he could. In through the nose, out through the mouth...accept the hunger...it will always be there.
-I know what you did.-
I know...
-You ate her.-
Images of his mother flashed, then the severed arm, his black outs, seeing the others succumb to their Hunger, killing and eating that deer.
-She was delicious!-
Saieve couldn't lose focus, he couldn't let himself lose control, the memories only strengthened his resolve.
I accept you.
-I'll always be here.-
You're a part of me.
-I control you.-
You can't control me. You're a part of me, but you are NOT in control.
-It's inevitable-
I control you. Vete.
At his last thought, Saieve felt the pressure of his Hunger lighten. Still there, but weaker. He had beat it for now, but it would always be there and he accepted that.
Please God let them hurry.

Adela did smile, and continued to work hard. She was sweating, but it had been worth it because he finally stopped screaming. I'm almost there. Almost finished. At least, it'd be enough for him to get up and walk. Maybe very clumsily and certainly not able to run, but it'd be enough.
And it was a good thing too. Saieve seemed to be dealing with something, and she had a feeling she didn't want to stay there for very long. Dammit! We can't stay here! But she was so close! "How you feeling?" She tried smiling at Schraeder, though it was a little weak. Need to finish this. She could sense how much she had left to heal.

Eyes long closed as Adela healed him, Schraeder reached up when she finished and took her hand again. She was confused, until he lifted it to his lips and placed an incredibly light kiss against her fingers.
"Like...a million...bucks," he said, smiling in an obviously failed attempt at being suave. He held out his remaining hand to her, and it took her a second to realize what he wanted. She began to argue - she wasn't going to help him stand in his condition. He placed his hand on her leg to get her to stop. The look in his bloody eyes said, "Please just do it."
After a few seconds of painful eye contact, she relented. Schraeder made it to his feet, though his entire weight was against the wall. He looked weak as a new kitten, but he was up. He kept his arm stub away from the wall, held against his body, as he looked up the hall.
"Why...is he...here?" he asked Adela. He seemed to be unsure of a Host being so close when he was so weak.

Adela quirked the side of her mouth at Schraeder's attempt to make her feel better. But that kiss...that doesn't seem like something you'd do for friends. She was getting closer to figuring out that Schraeder did indeed like her. This isn't the time to be thinking about that though.
She helped him lean against the wall (hating herself for doing it all the while). Even though he was up, she placed her hand on his forehead. I should do something about those eyes. When asked about Saieve, she frowned. "He decided to follow me. I tried losing him, but well, I'm not really in the best of shape to run." Before he could interrupt her, she continued, "Anyway, he said he wants to join the Adams. Something about a promise Agent A made with him.
But I really don't like this." She tried to figure the best way to say what had happened in the back room. "The Adams did some stuff that makes no sense. And I'm not sure this is the right side anymore." Stupid! Schraeder's half-dead, and you're worrying him with all this? "But that doesn't matter right now - I'll tell you more about it later."

Schraeder paused briefly. "You...don't think...it's the right...side? Huh." His eyelids fluttered a little and he swayed; Adela was the only thing that kept him standing.
"You'll...have to fill...me in if...I get better," Schraeder said. Adela didn't miss the fact that he said if. "Because I...was def...finitely think...thinking...the ssssaaa..." Adela grew worried as Schraeder speaking slowed, but he had already passed out. He slid down the wall and against Adela, once again totally blacked out. Luckily, his wounded arm didn't touch anything and he felt no pain...yet.

They should be around here...
Xu rounded a corner in the almost maze-like corridor of the base. Rejoice filled his face as he saw Adela with Schraeder. It seemed like Schraeder was better now, he seems to be able to stand. However, something else also caught his eye; Someone else was here. Xu had not seen the man before, though he looked quite familiar...A Host! was the first thing that came to Xu's mind. A quick reading of the mans aura supported Xu's thought.
"What are you doing here?!" Xu confronted the man. Adela was currently preoccupied with Schraeder, so it might be possible that she hasn't noticed the host yet.

Saieve opened his eyes and glanced up at Xu, questioning him. Glad he asks questions first. Saieve cracked his neck and unfolded his legs.
"I'm waiting for her to finish." he answered as if it were obvious, "She doesn't really trust me yet, can't blame her, so I'm waiting here while she takes care of your friend over there."
