In the end it was only her quiet sounds that kept him from takeing too much, sliding his tongue over the puncture marks to heal them before he laid her down on his discarded cloak. the material was thick, and though flakes of blood flittered from it in some places.. it was otherwise clean. Her body cried out for sleep, he would watch over her until sunset.. he owed her at least that much. Keeping his distance from her he sat on the pile of ruble, not bothering to return his lower pask to its place as he laced his fingers together infront of his mouth.. his fangs still very easily seen as he waited calmly for the sun to sleep. one vampire had died today.. her brothers would join her soon.

A good hour and a half before the sun was meant to set her mind was alive again, the wheels turning as she groaned. She was still tired, there was no denying it. But the rest she had gotten had caused a definite improvement. By pure willpower her eyes opened slowly, nearly closing again even as she pushed herself up onto one arm. Only then did she register the strange material beneath her, running her fingers over it. Thick and soft, it had to be warm. But it wasn't hers. That was when she remembered the cough before she had fallen asleep. That was when she saw him now. Alert now she sat straight up, watching him. "Who are you?"

" You need more rest." His voice was quiet, little more than a dark velvet chord in the pre-dusk silence. he made no attempt to answer her question, his tall frame remaing perfectly still as he sat on the ruble. he had repaired the tears in his armor while she slept and, being near noon at the time, had settled down to wait quietly. it was unfortunate she awoke before he left, but he was unwilling to thrall her again.

"Unfortunately rest is just beyond my grasp at this point."She wasn't used to naps, she simply moved and moved until she had the oppurtunity to sleep for more than a few hours, or until she simply couldn't move anymore. It wasn't much of a choice when the Dires depended on you to hunt for them, and to help protect them. Her movements were slow but steady as she folded herself into a better sitting position, her arms around her knees and hugging them close to her chest as she looked at the cloak again, her voice soft now. "You must want your cloak back now."

The sounds of beads clicking together came from his jacket, his gloved hand pulling a crucifix from his pocket as he mused quietly.. his fingers strokeing the beaded necklace. " You may use it until you leave. i will remain here for a short time before i depart." he had little over a hour to wait yet.. he would pray. truth be told he would have given her the cloak and left long ago, if not for the fact that he had not taken enough blood to risk the sun again.. and that the cloak was rich with his scent. any vampire or wolf looking for him would fallow that trail.

This had to be one of the strangest men she had ever before met in her life. Not only did he sound chivalrous and feel powerful, but to her he almost seemed....remorseful. Like he was looking for forgiveness despite that fact that she could tell he was a hunter as well. "I'm surprised you didn't just kill me when you saw me." Her hand was still stroking the cloak beneath her, the texture of it and the thickness still amazed her. It must protect him from the sun along with his armor. When she looked at his hand she saw the crucifix. It looked like an old rosary, but she couldn't be sure. Looking back up at him she gave a small grin, the faintest spark of amusement in her eyes. "A vampire that prays. That's something I must admit I've never seen before."

" You have given me no reason to." lifting his free hand he placed it against his mask, seeming to consider something before tossing the crucifix to her. the wood beads rattled as it landed on the cloak infront of her.. his voice fallowing it smoothly. " we all must have faith in something. you have my scent on you, use this until it fades away." contrary to most beliefs, the crucifix could protect her.. and was just as deadly as a stake to a vampire.

So he was a hunter who had a purpose when he killed. Interesting. Staring at the crucifix for a moment she leaned forward and lifted them in her palm, cradling them carefully as if they would shatter, studying them. He was right about faith. Everyone needed it. She just didn't know what she had faith in. Turning it in her hands a few times she admired the crafting before standing carefully, lest she fall back down, and taking a few steps toward him. Not to close but a little more than arms reach. "Where does your faith lie?" Letting it fall slightly she held the crucifix out to him, the beads hanging from the tips of her fingers.

Wrath studied her quietly, his gaze thoughtful as he taped the end of his finger on the swinging crucifix. " Right there." he made no move to take it though, simply watching it swing back and forth. After a few moments of silence he pushed himself up, hefting his bow to check it for damange. " you should go, while you have a chance.. come dusk this is going to get busy."

She understood his warning, knew it would be a good idea. There was just one slight problem... "You fed from me. You know what I am, I can't leave quite yet. I have no way of knowing how my leader will react, and between you and me, I don't want to see just yet." Kiya had fought to get as high as she was on the ladder, to earn the other Dires' respect. But she had gotten caught because she chose the wrong house. The first wolf in who knew how long to get caught and discovered.
When he was up she realized he was bigger than her. It was normal for her to be the smaller one, no matter her wolf size. Did mean it didn't make her the slightest bit nervous. Seeing his pocket she let the crucifix slide down inside. "May your faith protect you then, Hunter."

Just reminding him had his fangs extended again, the sharp white points visible as he said quietly. " I can not do anything to help with that, my appologies." It was odd she remembered.. but he could do nothing about that, as well. " that was to protect you.. from me."

She gave a soft smile at that, crossing her arms. She could see his fangs elongating, could sense that he was still hungry. "I'll take my chances, but I thank you." He was holding himself back, but it was clear he needed it. He was hiding from the sun, blood must give him power even as a dhampir. "I remember only because while your trick worked, it's not my nature to fall asleep until I need it. I was fighting still when you bit me, then I gave up." This was going to seem cruel, but she had to make sure she was right. If she was she might be able to help. Slowly, still watching him, she moved her hair to one shoulder. That was the easy part. Taking one nail she continued to watch him, pricking her skin until she felt a bead of blood well up on her neck.

The sharp crack drifted over the air before she could blink, Wrath's hand held steadily to the side as he glared at the woman. The slap had landed on her cheek, not nearly hard enough to harm her.. but enough to make his anger clear. " Do not tempt me, woman." He was not a saint, and the scent of blood made his hunger vicious. collecting himself he droped his arm, every muscle in his body tense as he warned grimly. " Cover that wound, I am not the only damned one wondering about." and some of them.. if old enough.. could travel in daylight as he did.

The slap caught her by surprise, but the only sign she gave of the shock was the slight widening of her eyes. So she had been right. "Temptation is teasing, taunting. Offering is a better word." Anyone else around, she could hold her own against. And she knew others were around. The tiniest wound could bring the ones with the least control, but she would be able to protect herself.

" I decline." Wrath said shortly, umoveing as he rejected her offer. he only fed well when he hunted in the daylight.. otherwise he took only enough to keep himself sane. " save your strength." His eyes narrowed as he studied her again, his gaze lingering on her weeping neck before he turned his back to her. he was the image of ice, calm and aloof as he waited for her to bandage or heal herself. Kiya had effected him more than he showed, he wanted to accept.. and that was all the reason he needed to distance himself from the lass.
