I'm Jessica and I'm a late twenty-something who is currently working on a Ph.D. in Chemistry at UC Davis. I'm originally from San Diego.
I have entirely too many hobbies, but some of them are: crochet, reading, writing, coding websites, photography, pretending I am not an epic failure at drawing, playing things on my NDS, living vicariously through my Sims 3 characters, eating chocolate, and more.
My time is usually spent on campus doing various things that Ph.D. students do. I research, teach labs and discussion sections, research, find things in scientific literature that pertain to my research, research, analyze data, grade things, research, prepare worksheets/packets/lecture notes, research.. Well, you get the picture. I also find time to escape my lab every once in awhile for a coffee/tea break with a friend also escaping her lab.
Sometimes I have enough time to keep up with my flute. I've been playing since I was 10.
I was fortunate enough to see the Final Fantasy Dear Friends concert in 2005 when the San Diego Symphony was one of the concert tour locations. A friend of mine who is a member of the SDS informed me recently that, in conjunction with the timing of Comic Con, they'll be performing Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy this year. I'm looking forward to that.. biggrin
In my free time I can be found on Gaia, pretending I'm a Jedi with friends in SDSWS or the 501st, impersonating Mara Jade, folding paper cranes, or sleeping.
Anime/Manga I highly recommend: Neon Genesis Evangelion, Haibane Reinme, Sgt. Frog, Grave of the Fireflies, Voices from a Distant Star
Okay, I've probably rambled on way too much. smile

i'm bunz (or bunny) & i'm 34 and am in northern ireland. i work full time as a library assistant & study part time with the open university. i'm working towards an undergraduate degree, BSc (honours) in information technology and computing. this year i'm studying java computer programming.
i'm in a committed long-distance relationship with a handsome man in england smile we both love each other loads smile (yeah i know soppy lol)
i'm a white witch (or a purply stripey witch - according to my friends) & a pagan.
i'm special (i have learning difficulties) & am a mutant (i have a mutated gene).
some of that is on my profile anyway which is public.
i can write 30words a minute & touch-type roughly 60-70 words a minute.
& like jessica i tend to ramble a lot, but rambling is good i think smile
when not working or studying, i tend to play games smile aside from pc & a netbook i have a ps2, ps3, wii, ds lite & a psp.
i love gadgets smile
am a self-confessed geek!! smile my bf calls me "queen qeek" *giggle* but he also calls me his purple princess biggrin
okay i think that will do for now smile
