"Economically the feudal system relied on the labor of the peasants. Most peasants in Europe during the middle ages were serfs. Although serfs were not technically slaves, they were legally unfree. They were not allowed to change residence of profession without permission. Most of their work benefited not themselves but the lord. A Portion of their crops and livestock had to be given to the lord. In addition, serfs had spend a certain number of days per month fulfilling various labor obligations: building roads, clearing forests, gathering firewood, or most commonly, farming the lord's private fields. Serfs had to pay fees to use any of the manor's facilities that were owned by the lord., including the water mill, the bread oven, the cider press, and the smithy. IN times of war, serfs also had to fight, lords would recruit foot soldiers from among them. Overall, living conditions were harsh. "

"The time Line of Feudalism.Feudalism persisted throughout the medieval period, and its effects were felt long afterward. ironically, it outlasted its original purpose. Even after political units began to centralize and resemble modern nations, many feudal practices remained in place. Serfdom took many centuries to disappear, especially in central and eastern Europe. The knightly class transformed into an aristocratic nobility that remained a permanent part of European politics and society until the 1800s and even 1900s. Feudalism set into place class differences thet survived as tensions between poor and powerless on one hand and the rich and powerful on the other."

Raine slapped himself once more, as he listened to Lavi who was now pacing around the fist in the middle of the room. Tsuyosa was examining his equipment once more, and listening to Lavi with his back turned. "The Ideal of Christendom. The unifying influence of Christianity. ONe of the few things binding the European nations and communities together following the fall of Rome was the Christian faith, which acted as a unifying force throughout the continent, both culturally and politically.
Rome itself was one of the two major headquarters of Christian worship. The other was Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire.. By 1054, doctrinal differences and geographical distance led to the Great Schism, which separated Christians into Two churches: Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. The former was dominant in central and western Europe; the latter was prominent in the Middle East and the Greek and Slavic parts of eastern Europe."

Raine slapped himself once more, Followed Lavi with his eyes as he ran in place. Trying to listen over the sound of him slapping himself, he couldn't quiet get the hang of this thing yet, but kept at it, trying different speeds of slapping and different areas to hit his skin. Tsuyosa was behind the small boy now asn watched out at his little cousin, trying to define anything that he could coach the boy on with this jutsu, but it really seemed to be a matter of finding out a technique for himself. Once you had it, the jutsu was as eeasy as cake. The man just wished Raine would get it soon, so they wouldn't have to wait around all day for him. ;

Raine slapped himself one more, taking quick deep breaths that gave him what little energy he could muster. Although this simple training did help his body recuperate a bit,k a few hours of running slowly in place was no big deal compared to the constant training he had done before. Raine felt the familiar tingle come about him and slowed to a stop once more, in a battle ready position. He couldn't help himself and stood fast holding his position, slowly the buss faded and Raine took a quick breath. Finally he had at last managed to preform the jutsu once more. Only a few more times, and he was quite sure he would have it. The technique was getting easier, he knew just how hard to hit himself, he figured to set on the reaction of nerves.

Lavi and Tsuyosa had stopped to notice that Raine had gotten the jutsu once more, and were relieved that he had finally gotten it once more. It seemed like days that they were waiting for this thing to happen. Tsuyosa sighed, and Lavi kept at his speeches. While Raine got training again, going of the strategy he had devised. It wasn't much of a strategy but he knew jut where to hit, and exactly how hard to hit. Sure enough he had it again, and was standing on his toes, waiting for the buzz to dwindle. It was an odd high that he felt. Almost as if his senses were buzzing and he could feel the space all around him.

This time Tsuyosa stopped completely, noticing that Raine had succeeded two times in a row. It could be that he had actually mastered the jutsu, or that he was just lucky. Standing behind him still, near the southern entrance, Tsuyosa stood like a massive wall in the door, blocking anyone who would wish to come, his arms crossed and his head cocked to the side. Raine didn't notice this, he was fully into his training. Smacking himself with a trained hand. as soon as the buzz had faded it was there again, zipping on his consciousness like a just the right amount of liquor. He stoped once more to let it fade and looked over to Lavi who was watching him while mumbling what he was trying to say. "I think I've rely got this down now. The happiness that overwhelmed him after such slow progress was astounding and he fet revived from frustration.

Tsuyosa nodded in approvemet, he had the jutsu down. Finally. Raine slapped himself once more and jumped around at the others glances, ready for anything. Lavi stepped forwar, and Raine bounced back. throwing up his hand and spreading his feet back in a defensive stance. The buzz around him had his eyes flashed. Tsuyosa stepped behind him too, and Raine jumped away feeling a bit paranoid. "Wow Raine calm down." Lavi smiled, the effects wore off soon enough and Raine smiled as weel.
"He, sorry about that." Tsuyosa just took in a deep breath,.
"Okay that should be enough." He said this blanky, ut both Lavi an Raine nearly squealed with ahppiness.
"Really yes!" The boy thrust his fist up, with victory. What a horrible jutsu that was, and yet he had mastered another Tekkenseisai jutsu!

"Okay Raine, now you're ready for a Tekkenseisai Jutsu that is renowned across the world. It the famous rock spike thrust." Tsyuosa said this with great pride as he stepped over and grabbed his Aian Nakkuru. Raine's eyes lit up like Christmas stars a top a tree. Heisei had shown him this many times, and Raine had made it his life purpose to learn this jutsu. Overwhelmed with excitement, Raine ran to his own blades on the ground and grabbed them quickly before running back and standing in front of Tsuyosa, who laughed. It was a very fun jutsu that he used in nearly every one of his battles. Surely this jutsu would greatly help defend the young boy in his later years. The man turned, exiting and heading back into the west yard. The boys followed, Raine almost hopping as he went. Tsuyosa passed the dummies, and in the stone courtyard there was a large stack of stone cubes. The master always had these handy just for this jutus, there were literally hundreds of them that reached up to the man's eye level and went back about 15 feet. Raine stared up at the mound, putting his Aian Nakkurru, he knew exactly what he had to do to complete the jutsu. However, the rocks were much too high for him to reach and Tsuyosa had to grab a rock and hand it down to the small boy. The sheer size of it looked as if small Raine couldn't even budge it off the ground, but sure enough he held it in his hands, the Aian Nakkurru scratching against the bottom of the stone. He knew this was going to hurt like hell and could only smile down happily at what he was about to do. Tsuyosa saw this and knew it was a true Tekkenseisai smile. He grabbed Lavi's shirt who was a bit unsure of what was happening and pulled him back to a safe distance. The boy could only watch, waiting for something bad to happen. Raine tried as hard as he could to thrust up the stone, quickly trying to punch it. But the stone fell to the ground before he could reach it, and smashed near his toes.

The boy sighed it was all that could be excepted of his first try but none the less. Raine felt bad. Tsuyosa expected nothing more, but the fact that he had stepped back meant he was weary Raine would preform this jutsu very well. He didn't believe in consoling words but instead expected him to pick the stone up and try again. Raine did, it was hard to get his finger under the flat brick to pick it up but he did. Once again holding the stone up near his chest. He tried to fling the rock straight from there and it only went up a few feet before clacking on the ground and chipping a bit. Raine glared down, he wasn't going to give up. No matter how many times he failed, even if it took him all night Raine was going to get this.

Once again Raine grabbed the stone holding it on his forearms. Tsuyosa felt sick at his stance or a lack-there-of. "Raine, bend your knees. I know it might seem hard, but right now you're a weakling. You need to use your legs as well as your arms to get the stone high enough." Raine looked back and nodded, when he trained there was no time for rambunctiousness. He felt Aian Nakkurru digging into his fingers with the weight and he warm stone on his skin. Sloqly he bent, bending his knees, low and thrusting up. rolling his shoulders back and sending the stone flying up above his head. The boy smiled and took aim, winding back his arm, and smashing into the stone with his fist.
Rock shards shattered outward, and Tsuyosa had to step in front of Lavi to protect him. Small shards hit him, but bounced away only able to puncture his skin. He looked over through a pick of dust, to see how Raine had handled it. Sure enough he was still standing, shards of rock where stabbing into his neck and shoulders though. Many of the chunks of stone had hit him in the head as well. Dirt coated his hair, and he breathed heavily wincing a bit, but after a few seconds he managed to turn back to the others and smile proud to have successfully completed the jutsu.

Lavi looked over Tsuyosa's shoulder at the distruction, the second he saw Raine bleeding he pushed the man out of the way. Forcefully, the Tekkenseisai wasn't expecting it and lost his footing a bit. Lavi always brought trouble when it came to these techniques. He didn't understand what it was to be a Tekkenseisai.
Raine looked surprised as Lavi ran up to him so seriously, kneeling and looking at his wounds. The small boy just gave him a kind look, "Lavi, I'm okay. I'm having a lot of fun! I've been waiting to learn this forever, really let me be." he said this very kindly, and looked up to the older boy gesturing for him to grab another stone form the stock. Lavi didn't understand the Tekkenseisai way of life. Had saw blood leaking into the white trim of his shirt and stain red. This was wrong for such a small boy, but the way he spoke so carelessly. Lavi could only stand and look down, sighing, and handing him another brick then turning and walked back to Tsuyosa who nodded gently. Gesturing that he had done the right thing. Raine thrust up the rock, using his leg once more, but pain shot through his shoulder as he tried to whirl around and hit the stone. For this the brick went under his fist and the Aian Nakkurru cut through the air.

As the stone smacked the ground Raine growled. How could he have let pain stop him, quickly he plucked a few of the bigger pieces of rock out of his shoulder and used his blade to wedge up space for him to stick his fingers under the stone. Picking it up one again, Raine bent his knees and gave his arms a bit. Before pushing up with all his might. He managed to fling the stone up, quickly he wound up his punch more, aiming to hit the stone as it passed in front of him. Raine smashed his iron knuckles into the stone, but the rock didn't shatter. It flipped over in the air and cracked up against the pile of stones.
