One of the nurses, sent by the head nurse, went to go inform Mao that Nathan had arrived. He simply shrugged and continued to lay on a stretcher that was left in the hallway. He was not all that far from where the children were being attended. He sighed, knowing he couldn't avoid Nathan and wheeled himself over to the other room. When he came in, He made himself comfortable in the corner. Some of the kids that were there looked over at him, but were too afraid from previous experiences with the demon to say what was really on their minds.

Nathan noticed the sudden hush and glanced over his shoulder to where Mao sat. When he saw him, he raised an eyebrow before turning back to the kids, beckoning for them to listen in with a small smile.
"He's really a teddy, I promise, but he won't let you see it - he's shy. So don't be scared of him, 'kay? Just smile at him and talk normally."
That said, the Angel ruffled the hair on a few heads and stood. "I have to go back to work, but you all take care, right?"
Nathan opened his arms wide for a group hug, ignoring Mao and the disappointed sounds that came from the children at his leaving so soon.

"Yeah kids," Mao called out from the other side of the room. "You'll be nice and safe here with me. We'll have tons of fun just like we did last Christmas." He then laughed loudly. He did his best to sound like a true demon, and it worked. The kids screamed and tried to all hide behind Nathan.

Nathan levelled a glare and a finger at Mao. "Behave, or else!" He growled, then turned to the children. "I really do have to go to work, but if he scares you then simply hug him - he'll be scared of you then!" He winked.

Mao got up and gave him a sinister look. "Yes children. Come closer so I can... EAT YOU!"
The children all screamed again.
Mao began to laugh histerically. "You shouldn't lie to them Nathan. It could get them killed."

Nathan shook his head then went to stand nose-to-nose with Mao. "We both know you wouldn't harm them, so stop trying to convince them otherwise. They. Are. Children."
His voice a mere murmur, he leant close to Mao's ear. "They need protecting, and you're perfect for the job..."
Nathan secretly nibbled aforementioned ear experimentally.

Mao jumped up and growled at him. "Don't do that! I'm just having a little fun with them that's all. Brats would ruin my appetite anyway."

Nathan offered a coy smile, then sighed heavily. "They don't think it's fun, however..." he murmured before turning towards the children with a wink.
"What do we do with a grumpy Mao-chan to make him smile? Wouldn't it be fun if we were to hug and tickle him?"

Nathan scowled, then wrapped his arms around Mao's waist without thinking it through. His mouth hovered beside Mao's ear. "I tried to avoid you as you wished, but then you came here. So don't now try to be mean to the children and I, because it doesn't work that way..."
His voice was a low growl, then he moved away. "I have to leave for work now, so if anyone wants to hug me I shall be just outside this door for a moment or two..." he called gently to the kids, brushing past Mao to stand to the left of the doorway.

Mao turned to the kids and forced a smile. "Excuse us for a second." He then grabbed Nathan by the arm and pulled him out into the hall. "Would you stop doing that. I may not be the most kind or well behaved person in the world, but at least I try to have some dignity. If your going to keep acting like that you might as well just show the kids some porn or share with them your kinky little desires. I know you have a thing for me, but I'd honestly prefer that you kept that between us." With that said, Mao stormed off leaving Nathan alone in the hallway.

Nathan gaped, then felt the strong urge to throttle the demon. He had just decided that that was the best course of action when small hands wrapped around his legs to hug him.
He bit his lip, forced a smile, and knelt to hug the children in turn before leaving with a small wave.
The Angel didn't notice anyone on the way out, emanating a cold rage that kept the other nurses away from him - as if he would act that way around children!
He merely wanted Mao not to be so mean to the little ones, not to threaten them! To not worry them, he'd hugged Mao - no inappropriate touching, no kisses, nothing! - and leant to his ear!
He stomped into work, eyes shooting sparks as he headed behind the bar.

Mao went back to the room he was in and sat back down. It wasn't long before he was scolded by the head nurse and he had to actually work. Even then, he didn't complain. He sort of felt bad about what happened, but he figured it was for the best. He didn't really want to hurt Nathan anyway.

Nathan couldn't force a smile that evening, nor could he manage to set down the glasses with any calmness. He didn't want to talk to anyone, though he knew he was being stared at...

Davyn walked over towards Nathan. He had an obviously false smile on his face as he got closer and closer to the Angel. He had every intention on impressing Nathan. He figured if he acted as if he were kind and loved everything Nathan did, he could eventually get him to go out with him, or maybe even take it a step further. He came up behind Nathan who wasn't paying much attention and slightly surprised him as he placed a hand on Nathan's shoulder. "How'd the whole thing with the kids go tonight?"
