((I meant that you're actually torturing my characters better than I do. XD))
::Kimi:: ~Andel, slums district~
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnn... Kimi heard the building creaking, too, but she was too scared to recognize what it really meant. To her it was just another loud, overhead sound like the thunder and the lightning. Another thunderclap rumbled in the sky as she gripped Laurence's hand. The little girl cringed and whimpered at the sound, her unrelenting grasp on her beloved backpack making her crawl awkward and slow. Gradually, she approached the opening of the crawlspace, looking outside with wide and frightened eyes.
So huge...so cold...she hadn't ever really looked at it before, having been too busy stumbling around in a half-drugged haze trying to find shelter. The entire world seemed to close in on her, lean in towards her, sneer at her. Kimi whimpered again and tried not to cry as she pulled herself out of the crawlspace using Laurence's arm. Shakily she balanced herself in the street, not relishing being out in the pouring rain again. She looked at Laurence, standing before him in all her ragged despair, Chrest's white uniform torn and dirtied beyond repair. Her hair would have been tangled if it hadn't been completely inundated with rainwater, and countless tiny scratchs and bruises ran down all parts of her body. Her pretty green eyes bored desperately into Laurence as if he was the last human on the planet.
"H...h...home?" She whispered tentatively, shivering.

((My deepest apologies for taking so long on this reply. It won't happen again. C'mon, Halcyon's, live! LIVE! *breathes the breath of life*
I'm in a really bitchy mood right now so it seems like a good time to write this. ^^))
::Tessara:: Andel city streets, slums district
Tess was beginning to like this woman in spite of herself. The tongue-ring was an especially nice touch. Tess found Izanami had a lot of qualities that Tess admired, or recognized in herself, and it was nice to meet someone who wasn't so hung up on orders and proceedure like they were back at AGSA. Dumb monkeys. They never let her do things the way they needed to be done--translated, they wouldn't let her shoot everything that moved.
Tess didn't really want Izanami to pick up on the fact that she liked her, though, and so she kept on her cool demeanor, scanning the locater casually. "Red's my color tonight," she said, her voice edged with vengeful delight. Several colored blips were visible on the locator now, and Tess felt the same rush Izanami had described watching them wheel around like fish in a barrel. "I appreciate the lift. I promise I won't take up too much of your time...ah. There she is." She'd had to zoom out a fair ways, more than she'd been hoping for, but there was no mistaking that nice crimson glow. This one was from Chrest, and chances were good that it was her girl. "Take me there. No rush. Her scrawny little legs couldn't possibly outrun this car." An evil grin spread across Tessara's face in a most unpleasant way. All she could think about was getting that little twerp staring down the business end of her handguns...
((I liked your locator description. Laurence is from Chrest, right? Does that mean he'll show up on it as well?))

((lol. he is from Chrest, but I suppose we should ask HIM whether or not he's tagged by them. He might show up; it's up to the player to decide, I think.))
Izanami's hands tightened around the wheel. 'Little legs?' she thought to herself, putting the car into gear, 'Is this woman hunting down a kid?' Her face didn't betray her reeling thoughts, even though her heart was pounding, indecision stirring her gut. Was it her responsibility to take care of this kid? Why a kid? Was the death of a kid by Tess' gun any different from the death of an adult? She watched the blip out of the corner of her eye, as she drove, trying to decide what he next course of action should be. Intervene? Was it safe for her to intervene? Tess was no wet blanket; if Izanami chose to get involved, it would be a full time commitment, not just some walk in the park like it usually would be. If she didn't intervene, a child would die. What was the significance of the kid, anyway? Should she just let Tess have her? Kid or not, she might wind up useful to have in posession. She drove slower than usual, trying to make up her mind. "So how come someone competant like you is on a dumb case like this? Can't a grunt handle one kid?"

((If you want to take over the character, feel free. This goes against my ethics as a gamemaster, but what can I do when people fall inactive after embroiling themselves in the plot (of course, between computer problems and SAT's, I'm not exactly the model of activeness either)? Anyway, those are my excuses, and they suck, and I am very sorry.))
Hiram: "Samuel, where the heck are you?" asked Hiram irritably, his gun posed in his other hand. Nearing the outside door, he posed his leg to kick it open. He could hear the sounds of conflict inside. "I'm at the raid on FM. I might need your help...it sounds like there is a Metal inside, or something. I'd like you down here pronto."
A slab of metal pierced the door that Hiram had been about to kick down, knocking half of it off its hinges. His eyes narrowed. How he desperately hated Celestials.
Deirdre: "Route? To the HQ, of course. Now, I guess I can understand if you don't want to come..."
Though she tried her very best to hide the depth of her disappointment, it seemed a lost cause. Frowning, she knit her her own fingers together, and stretched. Awareness was finally coming back after that seriously massive headache.
"...but, I really do suggest it. Those wings of yours...wouldn't you like help with them?" Pausing, she added: "We're not Chrest. I've been to Chrest. I know. We're not Chrest. We'd treat you right, not put any pressure on joining. Trust me, we - I - just want to help."

ANNOUNCEMENT Yeah, you, with the face. Listen up. Halcyon's lives!
Bloom just PMed me, and I asked her about Halcyon's. Unfortunately, for reasons of her own, she's no longer able to care for it. I asked her if I could keep up with it, and she agreed. So to those few of you who actually read this -- I'm going to be resurrecting Halcyon's in the next week or so. It may take me awhile to get things up and running, but I'm going to do my best. While I'll technically be in charge, it's Bloom's fantastic storyline and ideas that are going to be at the heart of the thing. I'm just going to take care of all the upkeep and all you unruly member-types. smile
Post in the OOC thread if you're still active/interested in being active. The rest of you will be receiving PMs from me soon to gauge who's still interested. Those of you who are interested will stay on as members and for you it'll probably be like nothing ever changed. Those who aren't will be booted and their chars will be kidnapped by ninja gibbons. I'll start a new Halcyon's thread and we can get back to business.
Anyone who reads this--also post in the OOC thread whether or not you'd like Halcyon's to become a guild, or stay as a regular thread here in the SDRP. I don't actually have a seperate guild for Halcyon's, but I could house it in the same guild that's currently housing my own RPG, The Second World. Tell me what you think of that.
I think that about covers everything. PM or post with questions.
