Angilwingz Actually...the hoop is horrible for effective healing.
Piercings SHOULD NOT BE MOVED. The skin is healing around the metal, turning it or twisting it tears the bonds that the skin has made and pro-longs the healing process.
A loop sticks out and snags on clothing, whereas a properly sized barbel will not. Also, with getting a barbel initially, you know all future barbels will fit, a loop is sized and shaped differently, and if put in wrong, you might find that your hole is longer than some barbels. Trust me on this one.

Well of course you have to clean it...just dont turn it a lot, that classifies as playing with it...which I'm sure they told you not to do.
