((why bother? If something likes this makes you want to type out till the buffer limit it's okay to post it.... just will be here awhile reading it xd ))

The melody continued to play as Jaden pulled out a small blanket that made up the bulk of her bag. Curling up on the cold metalic floor she wrapped herself up in the blanket and drifted off into an easy slumber. Jaden used to have dreams about things sometimes leaving her more dazed on whether she was awake or dreaming still when morning came. As of late however she had been wishing the dreams would no longer come because they always seemed to turn into a nightmare. Tonight however Jaden dream didn't turn into a nightmare but instead one of those strange dreams that seemed real.

The chamber was a circular earth toned one with plenty of light pouring in through the wide wall long windows that made up most of the far wall. She stood next to a man wearing a dark brown-ish colored robe. He looked like a wise man though his face was a blur. Jaden looked around and saw others similair to the man she stood next to, all had blurred faces except one. He wasn't like the others in the room, short green-skinned creature sitting across from where Jaden stood. Clear as day he was there in front of her though he faced her his eyes were closed as if meditating. All around them the others were talking as people entered, reported, and left again. "Are you looking for something? Someone?" Jaden asked but no one seemed to answer or even hear her except the green-skinned man. He looked up eyes opening as her searched the room for something his eyes passing over Jaden before coming back to her...

Jaden woke up rubbing her eyes and sitting up again. The melody of her little music box had stopped playing and the dancing figures no longer were shown dansing. She sighed and pulled the blanket around her tighter. "Who was he...?" Jaden gazed at the grey floor of the cargo bay knowing of only one way to find out. She took a deep breath holding it and then letting it go again. She began to meditate the way her father had shown her how

((Hehe, it's not that long. I could only wish I could write that much so quickly. xD ))

He went through of those he knew at the temple who wore the scholarly white robes. He couldn't think of any who might have a connection. Then it hit him. He had remembered seeing a scientist, once, just briefly, that Rieg had thought he recognized, but never got around to asking his name. Could it be that that man was Artus? It was so long ago; seventeen years or so. He instructed the computer to search for a list of scientists in the past seventeen years. As he expected, the list was quite lengthy. He narrowed the search to human males. The search still turned up a number of matches, but much shorter than the previous.

He scanned the names. AAACHTUN, CREED. BARIS, TUNY. All went in alphabetical order. He scrolled down to the U's, hoping, perhaps, to find a misspelling in Artus' name. No such luck. Back to the top. Still holding to his patience, he looked through the names one by one. DE POUILE, PAUL. DYMON, LISTO. EYRALASU, SUTRA. GUSTO, GINO. He sighed and continued to tap down further, hoping to find some ray of hope. He decided to give his eyes a break for a moment and stood up to stretch. He didn't like sitting in front of computers for long periods of time.

((I had to stop copy go post in other rp's and come back to that one many times sweatdrop ))

As odd as meditating in a cargo bay seemed. No one was around, and all was quite except for Jaden's breathing. "Be mindful", the words sounded in her head as she concentrated. Her father had told her this countless times when she said she couldn't meditate. He said her mind was a junkyard like those of Tatooine and to use the Force, she had to clear it of the "if" and "but" questions. Jaden breathed deeper and more evenly, I need to know who this creature is. Why was he the only one who's face I could see? He is a powerful Jedi, the Force responded nudging her to re-examine the "dream" she had.

The room appeared in her mind again, this time she kept her focus one everything in the room. The figures all were seated in a circle. Wall long windows surrounded them on almost all the walls. A meeting, or maybe a commity? They were looking for something that much she had gathered before.

Stretching a bit and then returning back to the computer, he continued through the names. Eventually he had gone through them all, with no success, and sat back in thought. This wasn't going very smoothly. He decided to come back to it later. Perhaps the council would find something before him. He felt a twinge of stubbornness within him, the Force telling him not to give up. "But I cannot find anything," he said to himself.

"You must have patience," his master had told him several times, actually, with her learned wisdom. Her Catharan ears laid flat for a moment and then perked back up. "Not all things come easy. Search your feelings."

"I feel as if this search will never end," he replied to his memory.

"My young padawan, sometimes the end never comes. But often times the end is in front of you, and you are blind to see it. Open everything, your heart, your mind, and your eyes, and you may find a path."

Rieg nodded, took back to the computer, and searched through the names again, his breathing deep this time, as he let the Force guide his fingers and look through his eyes. He felt its energy flow through him, letting his mind expand. Soon he felt himself stop at a name, now highlighted. He focused his eyes, read the name, and laughed briefly, realizing how stupid he was to have missed this name before.

He blinked at the name, the smile still on his face. EYRALSU, SUTRA. He laughed at himself again for not realizing the backwards spelling os Artus' name. Satisfied, though curious as to the spelling of his name, he selected the name and read the file that followed. He placed his hand on his bearded chin as his eyes scanned the information. Artus has entered the temple at age nineteen, much too old to be traditionally trained in the Force, so instead he apprenticed in the art of science; technological science to be exact. How to build things, work with computers, and the like. He learned some basic lightsaber skills in addition to his apprenticeship, as is the custom of all Jedi within the temple.

Continuing, Rieg noticed that Artus' file seemed to end abruptly. It hadn't shown if he had had any children, and his record was clean. It revealed nothing about his past except the name of his father. The last recorded acheivement of his was successfully tapping into a relatively impossible system of an enemy star cruiser, causing its disruption, and the capture of some potentially dangerous bount hunters. Quite a feat, Rieg agreed. It wasn't often someone could crack into the database or controls of other ships. He was very skilled with computers. The date of the last input into his file, which was a commendation from his Master as to his achievements, was seventeen years ago. A very long time for nothing to be entered into the file.

Rieg sat back. Feeling the metaphoric lightbulb in his head turn on, he returned the computer to the search database. He entered Artus' misspelled name and to his amazement a plethora of articles appeared. Most of them tests he had taken, awards he had won, and the common praise from his Master or others. However, he came across to one article in particular. "Missing" was the title. Opening it, Rieg read that Artus, or Sutra, according to the article, had gone missing seventeen years ago. No information had been collected as to why he would have left, and an investigation ensued, a team of Jedi trying to locate him. They feared that he may have been captured and could release dangerous information to an enemy. Apparently, something cluing in to his location was found. This part of the article seemed to have been deleted. A blank entry appeared where this information would have been entered. A Jedi, whose name was missing also, left to investigate this new information and was never seen again. The two nor any other information was ever found and the investigation dropped, those involved fearing his death. Others had predicted he had just left, seeing a sudden bout of urgency from him on his last days.

Once again in contemplation, Rieg leaned back, pulling his eyes from the screen to give them a rest. This seemed too obvious for someone to have missed. A simple misspelling would be caught, especially if the investigation was as extensive as it seemed. Rieg had no doubt that Artus himself had changed his name and removed the pertinent information about himself to avoid being found. This led Rieg to wonder the date of his tampering with the files. And why had he never heard of this? He wasn't on the council then, which could explain his lag on the current events at the time.

What was Jaden's connection to him? Had he fathered her after his disappearance? This would be left to questions he needed to ask her about. It could explain why the council was so eager to see her. Deciding that he could have gotten as much information as he needed, Rieg exited the archives and shut the computer off. Feeling a bit hungry, he headed towards the kitchen, or restaurant, or what ever type of eating establishment this ship carried.

Jaden breathed deeper letting herself be guided to one of her own memories of her childhood.

"What are the Jedi?" A small pale girl, almost sickly looking, sat on a stool beside a large stone desk covered with papers, books and other assortment of things. Seated at the desk was a man with a kind face, brown hair, a bearded face and the same blue eyes as the young Jaden who sat there with him.

"The Jedi are the protectors of peace. They serve others rather then rule over them. Here," Atrus reached for a book and opened it finding a page, "This is what the Temple looks like, see?" Atrus showed Jaden a hand drawn picture of a beautiful building with many levels. "The Jedi Counsel meet all the way up here," He pointed to a level with many windows.

Jaden came out of her meditation slowly, still pondering about the circular room. Her thoughts were interupted by the growl of her stomach. "Wont do much good to think without brain food," And with that Jaden stood stretching. Finding her way out of her little hideaway Jaden exited the cargo bay and wandered down the hall to the kitchen

He entered the kitchen soon enough, and found some fruits and vegetables from a variety of sources laying on a table. He chose a long oblong fruit and cut it carefully, preparing himself a plate, and then cut up a few more fruits and a couple of vegetables. He took his plate to a table, poured himself a glass of water, and sat down to enjoy his meal.

Jaden wondered down the hall eventually finding the kitchen again. She entered the kitchen finding Rieg was occuping the room as well, "Oh hello again, guess we must have had the same thought." She moved over to the table looking at the fruits and vegetable. "This is the first time in awhile I'll actually be eating food that wasn't sneeked out," Sitting across from the Jedi master, she watched him curiously

Rieg smiled at the girl once again, something he found himself doing often. Sometimes people said he had one of the kindest hearts they had ever seen. He usually laughed nervously, as he wasn't sure whether that was an attribute a Jedi Knight would want, but nonetheless, he thanked them.

"It appears so," he responded to Jaden, taking another bite of his fruit. He debated whether he should bring up any of the information he had discovered. He decided to keep it silent for now, giving him time to form some questions he could ask in a more private area. Instead, he decided to let Jaden do some talking. "How are you, Jaden?" he asked kindly, finishing the fruit he had started, before moving on to another.

"I am good," she began eating herself before she couldn't hold the question down any longer, "Have you ever been inside a large round room before? Like at the Jedi Temple?" Jaden was sure she'd be given a strange look or casually lead on to reveal the "dream" she had

Rieg looked at Jaden curiously, a little taken aback at the question. "Why, yes, Jaden," he agreed, "the room the council meets in is round and so are the meditiation quarters." He took a drink of water. "May I ask why?"

There was the bait, Jaden would have to tread carefully now. "Father had a drawing he made of a room supposedly at the Jedi Temple. I was curious if it existed or not," not a lie but not the whole and complete truth. Jaden went back to eating the fruits hoping that Rieg would buy the pieces she had just strung together.Jaden thought while munching at the fruit, So that room with all those people was the Jedi Council room... I was seeing the Jedi plan something... what though?! They were looking for something, someone I think because of the activity... she brought up the image of room in her mind again moving about the room in her mind's eye

Jaden had just given Rieg information he needed without asking for it. This is interesting, Rieg had thought, wondering, no, knowing, that the Force had something to do with it. The drawing Jaden referred to confirmed that her father had, indeed, been inside the temple. There was no doubt then that Artus was her father. But why did he leave?

"I see," said Rieg simply, placing his glass of water back down on the table. "Now may I ask you something, Jaden?"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 31, 2006 6:47 pm

Jaden looked up, losing the image in her mind instantly, "Um.... alright." She wasn't sure if she was busted or not but unlike the many times before when she feared being discovered, nothing told her to run. If anything something was telling her to stay, that everything would be fine.

((Oh, man, I forgot what question he was going to ask. I need to quit being gone for long periods at a time.))

Rieg looked to Jaden, who had looked up suddenly, and he wondered what he had disrupted. Nevertheless, he proceeded. "Jaden, did your father tell you anything about the temple? About what he did?" He wasn't sure if Jaden knew of her father once being a Jedi, but his drawing she mentioned would suggest that she had some knowledge.
