"Lieutenant, do we have any spare Titanium-A that we could use as the barriers or is there anything else we could use?"

"I'll need to look into that. It seems that plasma does a decent job of eating through it. We could use those plasma grenades very well if the marines behind the barriers are overwhelmed. We would need to have several rigged together if possible and set in a small hole in the ground. The holes would need to be shallow enough for a marine to reach in and grab them out with basic ease. The hole would serve as protection for the grenades so they won't be set off because of a nearby explosion. Of course the enemy fire will slowly wear away the marines' protection. Should their protection wear away before they are overtaken by the Covenant, they could use the rigged explosive just like a grenade...an extremely powerful grenade. If they are at the point when there are too many Covenant and they must retreat uphill, they need to use the rigged grenades on the barriers. The reason for using plasma grenades is they are more likely to destroy the barrier than the fragmentation grenades...at least in my opinion. This way, the Covenant won't have protection from our fire while they advance. We need to work out some of the details of course. We need to determine whether to have the detonations normally timed the way the grenades already are, whether to have them rigged with special timers for setting off the explosion, or whether to have a detonator for the explosives. I shouldn't need to state this, but for the record: We will need to rig enough explosives for each barrier." After describing most of what he had on his mind, he looked intently upon Lieutenant Twombley for his input.

"I agree, but with the number of mines we'll be setting out there, it will put their ranks in total chaos. They will lose a good number of vehicles trying to come through there as well from those lotus mines. And if they try to flank left, they will run into more mines, and the same with the right flank. The machine guns will make short work of infantry in their confusion too. One thing we should consider though is the covenant setting up a battery of wraith's to bomb down plasma on the butte in an attempt to soften our defenses up for their attack...Also we need to have anti-air batteries set up to knock out banshees that might try attack as well" He looked to major with a sigh, but then looked back down at the map. "I had been planning out an operation to have one SPARTANs to lead a group of several ODSTs to go on a recon search for the covenants position, and theyd be bringing alot of high explosives with them to knock out any heavy equipment they could. Like Wraiths. That was before your arrival sir."

Lieutenant Twombley returned the salute to WO Shadeslayer. "whoa clam down son." he stood straight up and faced the Warrant Officer. "did you come down with the drop team from the Armengald or from the Titan?"

Kristi was still trying to pull it off when she was messing with the hunters arm, she heard a click, "********...." She bolted from her kneeling position as a giant explosion of plasma errupted from behind her knocking off her feet and siriously wounding her already wounded leg. She cried out in pain and couldn't call to the buttes top so she jammed her com, "Guys... I need... some help here..."

He heard a explosion and ran outside and looked over the edge to the bottom of the butte. He didnt know what happend, but it looked as if a fuel rod had went off and someone was hurt.

Along with everyone else, Major Orden also heard the explosion rip through the air and shake the ground.
"Blast! That's going to attract some attention. Alright. We're going to need fast action."
He looked over at the Lieutenant and faced him, squarely. "Get to fortifying the southern pass like we discussed. In relation to the Covenant's heavy-hitters, see if you can get the two Scorpion Tanks up on the butte in firing positions. If it is possible, I want them to be able to open fire and use the great elevation to their advantage against the Covenant. Also we will need to post any spare snipers that aren't already placed elsewhere, at the very top of the southern pass up on the butte so they can have clear shots for taking out any Covenant. Some people with Rocket Launchers can help deal with air forces and ground forces. They will need to be dispersed so as to avoid all of them being killed in one shot. I will be joining you shortly after I find out what just happened. Anyone who needs something to do can help the preparations of the southern pass. Take any extra measures you believe need to be made, just be sure to inform me of them when I get back to you. See to it, Lieutenant."
He turned and briskly started making his way to the site of the explosion while wondering what could have possibly happened. "At this rate, the Covenant will be here in no time at all and we'll have our doors wide open in unwanted greeting..."
