The guard had returned, given Rhys the Heal staff, returned to his post. Rhys had been mostly on standby, unable to do more than just watch. Not sure what to say, he sat down beside her and put an arm around her shoulders.

Renault glanced up at Melethia for a moment, before making a shushing motion and turning back to Amelia. He'd deal with Melethia in a moment, but right now he had to take care of Amelia. "Of course, I'm here to help you, Amelia," he told her softly, holding her tight. "I love you, little one. And I'm never going to leave." He gave her a gentle smile.

She closed her eyes for a minute. Was this situation really so drastic so as to make her need comfort from someone else? She liked the feeling of the hug, though, realizing just how much she'd missed having a family in that moment. She closed her eyes for a minute, only opening them when she felt Rhys' arm around her shoulder.

Amelia removed her arms from around Renault's chest to lean against Rhys. She felt a little pathetic now, acting like she needed to be comforted, of all people, so she sat up straight, smoothing out one of Rhys' lapels before kissing his cheek. "Thank you," she told both men, smiling warmly. "I'm fine now." She rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly.

"I'm alright. Uh.. Rei's acting really strange... is everything ok?" She looked, alarmed, at the boy talking to himself in the middle of the room.

Bramimond smirked a little, under his hood. "Old? Who are you to call me old? You only exist in a theoretical state, nothing more. But, I digress.

If my theory is true, then you are a shard of the child's mind. As such, I cannot remove you without some nasty side effects, and to be honest, you do come in handy in a fight. So, I won't remove you, merely give the child control."

Bramimond raised his hand, and grabbed the hem of his hood. "I await the opportunity to study your existence more in depth. But for now..." Bramimond pulled his hood down.

"...look into my eyes."

Bramimond was floating in a sea of black. Normally, such a change in surroundings would shock a person, and quite possibly cause the emission of some waste products. However, Bramimond was well adjusted to this realm of mind and soul. He focuses on an object in the distance, and began flying towards it.

As he approached it, he saw a small, green aura, with a child floating in it. It was surrounded by an omnipresent, purple aura, and as Bramimond drew closer, this purple glow enveloped his entire vision. Bramimond scoffed.

"Come on, kid. It's time to go." He grabbed Rei's collar, and pulled him towards himself. As Rei was pulled out of Zelos' field of influence, his sphere of green grew, and once it broke the surface of the purple ball, it quickly grew, and expanded to consume Zelos' energies, shoving him into the space where Rei once was.

As Zelos began issuing minor complaints about his new living arrangements, Bramimond, with his actual body, lowered his hood. With the line of sight now broken, Bramimond's damaged consciousness was harshly removed, and Rei was once again in control of his body. However, before this happened, Bramimond heard Zelos whisper something into his mind. Bramimond nodded. "He will be informed, Zelos. You have my word."

Bramimond put his hood back into a comfortable position, and walked away from Rei, now once again resembling himself.

Amelia pulled herself to her feet, smoothing out her skirt carefully before reaching for Rhys' hand. "C'mon. Let's make sure the last thing they remember isn't Abel and Zelos duking it out over a girl, huh?" she smiled sheepishly, adjusting her bunny ears with her other hand.

Since Melethia didn't seem to be responding, Renault sighed, then caught a glimpse of a certain someone looking alone, to one side of the room; a person he hadn't talked to in quite a while. The bishop made his way over to her, then smiled down at the young mage girl. "Hello, Nino," he said. "I haven't seen you around very often, has everything been okay?" His eyes reflected some concern for the girl.
