Rhea smiled at Miyu as she brought her over a cup of cider. "Well, it's not as if it matters how tall we would like to be," she pointed out, "since we can't do anything about it anyways. Best to just wait and see, that way we can't be disappointed, yes?"
Whisper purred warmly and pressed into Cindy's hand. "We are like anyone else," she reminded Cindy happily. "We don't need others like ourselves - we have our own families, and that's enough for us. And Saki even gets more - the children who pass through the ranch so often. How could we be lonely?"

Miyu nodded as she took the cup of cider, thanking Rhea as she did so. That was a good point,
"Yes..." Miyu nodded, "That is true."
She took a light sip of her cider thoughtfully.
"Uhm..." she realized she wasn't so sure how to continue this conversation, which was interesting seeing as she never thought herself bad at it, "How... have you been doing? I did not ask."
Cindy smiled at that, this was true, they always had someone with them, and really it was no different between Wish and Lily Mist, granted the two had each other, sort of....

Rhea smiled at Miyu and slid into the seat next to her. "I've been doing well," she said warmly. "Training with Nako, learning with Cindy ... sometimes I go off with Papa on his research, though Mama prefers that I stay here."
A wistful look crossed her face as she thought about the other things she would like the chance to do, but wasn't allowed.
Whisper continued to purr softly, but then she nuzzled against Cindy's leg and nudged her towards the kitchen. "Come on, you should catch up with your niece," she murmured. "It's been a long time since you've seen anyone from your family."

Miyu couldn't imagine staying in one place (though many people suspected she would have been happy doing just that if she hadn't found people to interact with).
"Oh.... research sounds very interesting," she commented, though she had never done research herself she had seen her Uncle Yukito do that several times.
"It has been," Cindy agreed before moving to be the girls and sitting across from them.
She smiled watching Miyu, she was indeed looking a lot like Jaseth in a way, but with Yue's colourings.
"Do you do research with Yukito?" Cindy inquired.
Surprised at seeing her aunt, Miyu's face lit up. She hadn't seen Auntie Cindy in a long while, not since before Christmas, "No... but sometimes I experiment with my magic."

Rhea smiled warmly at Cindy, glad that she had joined them. She was the one who would most like to talk to Miyu, after all, to find out what was going on at home, since she had been away for so many years; and Rhea ... well, sure she was hyper and talkative, but she really didn't know what to say to someone from another world. She was curious at Miyu's mention of experimenting with magic, though - that was something she was never allowed to do, not without some very close supervision from Cindy or someone else who could stop her from going too far.

"So you have your own workroom then?" Cindy inquired knowing that all magic was required to be done in the sealed rooms.
Unless she wasn't by herself, but Miyu Cindy felt was too old for that, and she was indeed old for a Second.
Miyu nodded, "Close to the healer wing, because Elnara-chan isn't there anymore to help out, and so if Uncle Yuki needs me I'm close by."
Which was always good since one never knew what the kids might do next, even though Miyu looked like a kid herself.
Cindy had to chuckle, the students of course were still getting into trouble. While she loved what her mother did, Cindy wasn't sure if she could handle a classroom full of students.
"What about everyone else?" Cindy inquired softly.
Well.... Miyu had a lot to say on that, like the fact Naida received a fish horse to add to the chaos that was the waterways, the hide and seek games the mers played, the fact that Triton was seriously thinking about teaching.... but he needed a babysitter for Iris first.
The little neko seemed to gain a taste for leather shoes.
Kali was planning new inventions, Serenity began using a computer, but there was something a bit odd about that, Miyu couldn't quite put her finger on it yet. Helen had partnered up with a dog demon called Wolf for making clothes.... over all life was busy and growing.

Rhea listened happily to Miyu's stories of back home. She was always happy to learn new things, and to hear so much about another world ... well, it made her want to visit there. Learn more about it. See it for herself. Experience it ...
Suddenly she blinked. "I thought you came alone, just you and Aragost," she commented to Miyu in confusion. So why did she sense other presences?

"I did," Miyu replied equally confused.
At least she was sure Aragost would have mentioned something if there were other people with them, and she didn't see anyone as far as she knew that came with them. She looked over to see if Aragost was still there and to see if he knew.
Since he always seemed to know.

Aragost was still standing silently in the corner, but at Miyu's unspoken question he raised his head slightly, his face still hidden in the recesses of his cowl.
"There has been another arrival," he said quietly.
It wasn't his place to say more.
Rhea blinked. "Another arrival?" she repeated. "But it's ... six ..."
She looked at Miyu curiously. "You really don't know who it might be?"

Miyu was drawing up a blank to be honest, there weren't that many people who came with them this time, and only because Lin was now not here and her grandmother didn't come. Most of the more well known fighters were not at the Ranch.
She shook her head, "Only... the mers, and Grandpa, and Lin came, but Grandpa and Lin are away and the mers are already here."
Well in this area anyhow.

Rhea's eyes shone brightly, and she looked to Cindy eagerly. "Can we go see who it is?" she asked. "They're probably not coming here, but I want to know ..."
And she would be a good girl and not use her magic, if they could go and see.

Cindy had to chuckle at that, she couldn't help but be curious herself as to whom had come. It made very little sense, since just arriving suggested maybe a portal, or unless someone traveled from far away.
"I don't see why not, what do you think Miyu?"
"Mii....." Miyu tried not to play with anything like her dress or fingers, "Okay."
She also was curious, but it didn't mean it didn't make her nervous, but she was curious.

Rhea smiled at Miyu and put one hand on her shoulder comfortingly. "It'll be fine, you'll see," she said warmly. "Come on. If it's someone from your home, they won't be scary."
After all, Miyu had to know them - didn't she?
She rose to her feet and pushed her chair back under the table again, then smiled at Miyu and Cindy and nodded towards the hall. "Come on," she urged them, starting towards the hallway, leading them all outside.
Aragost moved out of his corner as well, walking close to Miyu. "I will be with you," he murmured softly, reassuringly.

Miyu nodded timidly at this, she knew she shouldn't have anything to worry about since she wasn't going to be alone at all. So as she followed Rhea, she calmed herself into thinking well it could be anyone and it wasn't like she was alone at all.
Cindy giggled after Rhea, she seemed so excited but then again six people was a lot she thought to herself as they were exiting the house. Now... she thought, if it was the portal.. then it would be that way.

They didn't have far to go, however: coming out of the woods just a little ways away from them, and heading toward Ulani and Ulrich's house, was a group of six people: an elf, a human, and four children.
"Who is that?" Rhea asked Miyu, staring at the odd group.
