"Eh? Oh, I'm sorry! How rude of me, I didn't even introduce myself. I am Kiendo Shiline," Kiendo said with a bow, "And you?" He asked.

"I am called Relako." Relako replied with a small bow. He never really bowed fully since he never found anyone worthy enough of his respect. Instead he always sort of half bowed, just to be polite. There had been a few time in his past where he had refused to bow and it had caused him considerable headaches, so he found it best just to give the appearance of a bow now, even a small one. "As I said when we met outside, I am a demon hunter." he said as he straightened up.

"As you have been calling me so, I am a human," Kiendo replied with a smile. He paused for a moment like he was thinking of something, "Actually, now that I think about it..." Kiendo turned slightly with a hand under his chin, "I have some inscriptions of magic circles and I don't know exactly what they would do. They are fairly complicated," He said, going back to the magic conversation. He only just remembered them, because it's been a while since he wrote them down.

"I could guess at their meaning, but without knowing the magic it's hard to figure out simply from inscriptions. That's why though ruins like these contain records of powerful magics, few people can actually perform the spells described." Relako said, almost seeming to glide over to Kiendo as he moved closer to the human. The fact that he was an angel was showing slightly in the grace of his movements. Of course Relako was a fallen angel now, but he still moved with considerable grace.

Kiendo smiled at Relako for reasons unknown to him, "So, I could go through my old notes and find the inscriptions, including what I wrote about them. I'm assuming that you know a great deal about magic casting, right? So you might be able to figure it out more than I could," He explained to him and placed his notebook under his arm. Kiendo just wanted to learn, that's all. Casting the magic he's researching never even once crossed his mind.

"I know a fair deal about casting, but I'm not any sort of archmage. I could take my best bet, but there's no guarantee it would be right." Relako said as his way of accepting the offer. Even if he couldn't learn the spells by looking at descriptions about them, he was still intrested in what kinds of magic Kiendo might have in his book. Luckily Kiendo seemed just as eager to find out, so he would have all the time he wanted to study and memorize any spell he might find so that he could try to replicate it later.

Kiendo clapped his hands once, "Great! They have been bothering me for a long time now. I can't even tell what their main elements are," He said and turned around to open his knapsack. He pulled out a weathered and aged notebook, "This is the major one that I'd like to know about. This is notes from when I started my research. I found the inscription on the floor in a building at Lurugen Swamp. It was burned there; the afterspell I suppose. The magic residue was still fresh when I got there," He said and flipped open the aged book, "Here it is. The notes span five pages, but they are mostly what I thought about them," He said and handed the book to Relako. There were even descriptions of the room it was in.

Relako made a slightly humming noise as he carefully read every page of the notes and studied the diagrams. "How long ago did you encounter this spell?" he asked as he read, not bothering to look up at the human. "And you say the 'magic residue' was still fresh? What did it feel like? What did the air in the room feel like? Had you heard any noise prior to discovering the burns?" Relak continued to ask since he couldn't find the answers in the book. Kiendo's documention was indeed very detailed about such things as the state of the room, but sometimes the most important things were dismissed. Like the room might have felt slightly colder, but Kiendo had simply dismissed it as being part of the ruin. The spell was certainly of intrest to him though. There were few spells that actually burned symbols into their surroundings, with the exception of fire spells. Even the spell Relako had cast before hadn't effected the room any, so he was curious what kind of spell this was.

(Go for it. I'm just trying to make things interesting)

"It says the date there in the top corner, 11:35 am, August 15th, 2000. Eight years ago," Kiendo answered, "I've always been sensitive to my surroundings, so I can feel the aftermagic once a spell had been cast. It kind of feels like thick smoke, and it differs due to intensity. Sometimes the residue is not smoke, but a weird static feeling. The air was pretty thick in the room, so I can assume it was a really powerful spell. I heard no actual sounds because I showed up after the caster disappeared. I probably arrived about an hour after the spell was cast," Kiendo explained more. He could read between the lines of some of his notes, and his memory is excellent.

"I am a caster. I know what 'magic residue', as you call it, feels like. I wasn't asking for your scholarly opinon, but your personal one." Relako clarified, breifly glancing up at the human. That was one of the things Relako often found about people like Kiendo. They could make documentation about events with such detail, but miss the most basic things. "Was the room colder? Was it warmer? Was it dark despite the presences of lights? Was it bright despite the absense of them? Did a chill run up your spine as you walked in? Did the room make you feel elated? Did fear enter your mind as you saw the symbols, or did you feel couragous?" he asked quickly, trying to get more information out of the man.

"It wasn't really a feeling at all. If I had to describe my feelings at that moment upon seeing the symbols..." Kiendo hesitated, "... I would probably say emptiness was what I felt at that exact moment. I know for a fact that the room didn't look or feel any different than other rooms, so this feeling was caused by these runes burned into the floor. An empty black void comes to mind, or even what I can imagine death to be like," Kiendo said.

Emptiness? Now that was very interesting, and it was exaclty what Relako was looking for. Of course the effects were likely to be minor anyways because it had been so long since the discharge of the spell, but it helped. In fact, that simple fact alone drastically narrowed down the possibilities. He had a pretty good guess now what kind of magic had caused this. "That's... impressive..." Relako muttered as the looked at the runes again with the new information in mind. "You may envision death to be a void, but if you're confronted with it you wouldn't think such thoughts. No, there's only one type of magic I know that would cause a feeling of emptiness. It is called 'Void Magic'." Relako explained, looking up at Kiendo, now very intrested in the book.

"I see!" Kiendo started to get more interested in the conversation than before, if that were possible. His eyes lit up, "I have not heard of Void magic. Is it like dark magic? Or even shadow magic?" He asked.

"Think of shadow magic as a weak offspring of Void Magic." Relako explained slowly. "Void Magic is an ancient art that has been largly lost to the ages. Even in the entirety of my life, I have never so much as heard of it being used. It's not a type of magic that can be easily used by any caster. In fact, in order to use even the most basic spells, you often have to devote yourself entirely to the Void. However the power of even the most basic spells is often far greater then some of the most powerful spells in any other school of magic." Even Relako wasn't able to cast Void Magic, mostly because of a lack of able teachers, but also simply because it was beyond his capabilities.

"I see," Kiendo said, "I wonder if we could find the caster? I'd love to ask him or her some questions about it," He said, not really caring that the caster would more than likely not do it. He said it as more of a hypothetical question.
