Darek was about to insist on going back to the INN but, a voice in the back of his head said it would be ok. Darek smiled to himself. "Sure, we can walk a bit but, we will get some things done at the same time. Is that agreeable?" He said with a smile.

Darek stood and thanked the waitress and the owner. Leading the way, darek took the longer route to their destination.

Not far off, a group of armed men made their way tords the town. The only man on a horse stared off in its direction. "That first town had so few there and even less that were suitable for fighting. This town, however, has its own armed guard. The bodies here will be of good use." He pointed in the town's direction and the group moved that way.


Darek smiled the entire walk. This is what he was missing when he was gone and this was all he wanted. He wished that these moments would last forever. He stoped for a moment and grabed her hand to stop her. "Katara, I have known you for most of my life. You have been my closest friend. You have become more important than anyone that I know. I can only hope that you have the same feelings for me. What I am trying to say is-" As he was about to finish his sentence, something cought his eye. On a hill, not far off, he could see a mass of men moving in his direction. The stench of blood and roting meet began to fill the air. Darek had seen things like this before. This village was about to be leveled. His mind began to race. He had to move fast. He held Katara's face gently and looked into her eyes. "Someting has gone very wrong. We need to leave and now. I will go and get the horses as fast as I can. I need you to get the others and meet me at the north gate. I will tell you more when you get there. Move fast." Darek longed to stay with her longer, but he knew what needed to be done. Darek ran to the south gate.

A new face greeted Katara as Quin was first out of the door. "An attack? On this village? That has never happened before." He was already holding two throwing knives in his hands as he was already heading outside.
Quin held the door open for the other occupant of the room to get out. If he was planing an attack he would not exclude assaults through the windows. Then again, he had a bit more of a thieves perspective on this, as people tend to slip out of windows unnoticed, or in unnoticed as he had done before to meet Enzeru.

Katara heard more people screaming, and she yelled as loud as she could, "COME ON!" She turned on her heels, and dashed down the stairs and ran outside, her gleaming dagger drawn dangerously. She faster then she thought possible. Her long legs carried her towards the North Gate. A child was crying for her mother, and Katara stopped for a split second. Suddenly, she grabbed from behind.

"Why do you run?" A wirey voice hissed in her ear. She gasped for breath as his hands closed around her neck. Her fingers started to loose grip on her only weapon as her air was lost. Struggling for any streangh, she finally found some way deep down. She gripped her Knife and swung. It hit something, and she was set free. She saw she sliced through his wrist. As he went for her again, she held up her dagger, letting her knife go trhough his chest, through his heart. As he fell dead, Katara let tears fall from her eyes, but no from sadness, for hate and anger. She grabbed his weapon, a heavy sword, and his bag of gold before she turned to look at the child. She shook her head, and ran towards the gate.

((Sorry for the long post. I'm just fishing out what I can because this week I'm going to be going down to Key west (after Thanksgiving). It'll be for three or four days. :3))

Gill didn't wait for her to tell him how to get there when he heard teh screams "come on!" he grabbed her hand and started to run in teh direction of the scraming.

Quin nodded at Enzeru's direction understanding, and then left to follow. He did what she had told him for she probably had far more of an idea at what was going on here than he certainly did.
He left the Inn to follow Katara and saw her get attacked, and just when he was about to throw a dagger at the man, she had already gotten free and stabbed him. Quin continued to follow from the shadows, and the next person to try to hurt Katara found a dagger sticking out of his throat before he knew what killed him, or where it came from.

Katara was trying to shvoe people out of the way of her path and the path of the destructors. She finally saw the south gate. She gathered up all of her energy, and bolted to the arched stone gate. Several soilders were lined up, listening to orders. As the orders were said, they bustled.

"Hey! Girl, who are you?" The officer in charge asked her in a rude tone.

Katara ignored his rudeness and said lightly, "I am Katara, one of the seven from the Old Dragoon. I was ordered to come here, and wait for the horses by Derak. Perhaps you heard of him?" She said. The man softened his hard exterior.

"Ahh. Derak. Haven't seen that boy in some years. And it truely is a pleasure to meet you, Katara. Derak has told me about you. But enough of the past. Hustle along outside the village. You are not safe to wait here. I'll driect the others." He said without his name. Katara felt his usher her to the gate. But he stopped her silently, taking her sword.

"Hey!"

"This is dull, child." he said with a smile. He unbuckled his own sword and handed it to her. "Now, go! The White Stallion will signal." He said, pushing softly against the center of her back. She didn't have to stop and thank him. She didn't have the time anyways. She ran about a half a mile. She slowed and finally stopped. She fell to her knees, her legs and her lungs unable to run much longer. She slid her hand into her bag and brought out a flash, and struck it against the road and let it lay in the center of the narrow road; the smoke roas from the small fire within the wooden tube. She edged into the brush and bush, and reached into her bag to bring out her orb. She held it in her left hand and with both hands, she started to rub her left leg from the dull numbness it gripped.

((Once again, sorry for the long post. Use the smoke to guide your characters to the area. Katara won't be moving any time soon though. lol))
