Sally sat down at the science desk, her hands darting over the controls. Turn this on, turn that off... once she was done she turned to her captain, "Kay, start it up!"

Alex nodded and sat down in his chair. He looked up and flipped a few switches as the ship started to shake. "Engaging vertical thrusters. Preparing for take off."

The take-off was jerky, but fine. Sally didn't talk, only giving small signals to the captain as they went.
"Scott!" she yelled over her shoulder.
"Its Ray!" The engineer head yelled back.
"Yes, Ray, little security problem in sector five, get some people on it!"

The ship continued to rise until they were several hundred feet up in the air. "Igniting boosters." He said flipping another switch as the ship moved forward quickly. He looked over to Sally. "What's the problem?"

"Nothing major, just a tripped alarm. Nothing the guys in red can't deal with." she said.

Alex took the paper and put it into a folder with the other captain's logs he had. Some of which he had actually done.

As the day dragged on, Sally put it back on autopilot. She yawned, stretching. "I'm going to take a nap." she told the captain.
