Colin couldnt resist smiling at Rosie, though he did roll his eyes on occasion.
" I mean, I've run into a few spirits in my time, but nothing horrible. Everything has a purpose.." Ella siphoned off the rest of her coffee. She was flushing, but it was more from excitement of the convo than anything else. She wondered what Colin would do if he met Sam.
' Probably scare him off..'

"So have I, but not so nice. That scared me right out of my skin." Which spanned into yet another story about specter dogs and black mists in ancient London places.
Rosie drummed her fingers against her empty plate, wondering when on earth they were going to stop talking. She loved being with Colin, but they'd been there for what felt like ages.
"...I love you, Colin," she said to fill the silence and to just tell him a pleasant truth.

" They're usually pretty civil to me. We chat sometimes." She was happy to say he wouldn't think that too weird.
Colin smiled and leaned across the table to kiss her.
" I love you too, Rose." He bonked his forehead against hers and sat back again.

"...you chat?" Sam didn't know she was that much into the spirit world. He thought maybe it was a fascination, not an actual contact. "Aren't you worried about them following you or something?"
He knew she was different, but not that different.
"Do you like him?" she whispered, giving him a glance.

Ella gave him an odd look.
" If they're human spirits and were good people, I just ask them to go.." She sighed.
" We don't chat chat, but it's more like I am able to communicate with them when I need to. I guess chat was the wrong word." She winced slightly.
Colin have her a look.
" I don't know him Rose. I can't pass judgement too much yet."

Rosie just shrugged.
"I have a good feeling about him."
"Oh." That sort of let the air out of his bubble a bit, but it was still interesting nonetheless. He could definitely see why Ella was viewed as a weird, strange girl growing p and even now, but she did have friends so he couldn't really pity her. Not that he wanted to at all.
"I've had prophetic dreams," he said in a slight whisper. "And met people in them that I've never met before."

Ella looked put out, as she could tell he thought she was even weirder.
' I'd better start censoring myself.'
She shrugged.
" Alot of people have."
Colin frowned.
" Well, we'll have to go by your judgement, won't we?"

"But play-by-play dreams? I watched my dog get hit by a car, and the next day, it happened, even though I tried to stop it."
Sam seemed uncomfortable just thinking about it. As far as he was concerned, it had happened twice. Most people, he was sure, didn't have that happen.
Rosie poked his cheek softly, smiling.
"Turn that frown upside down or I'll kiss it."

Ella shrugged again.
" It's alot more common than you think, alot of people just don't say anything." She took another sip of her coffee and didn't say anything, her expression thoughtful.

Sam peered at her for a moment, before slowly answering, "Then maybe you aren't as strange as you think. Maybe people are just being silent about what they see, and what they do."

" Yes, but I'm not talking to them, am I?" She asked, with an arched elegantly shaped eyebrow, courtesy of Danni. She turned and raised her hand for the check to be brought over with an easy smile.

"You're talking to me," Sam said gently. "And I don't think you're strange, or weird. Just different, which is a good thing."
He was different, too. Sometimes it was nice to be a bit separate from the lemmings, but sometimes it got lonely. He didn't want to lose Ella, but it was true that maybe she wasn't so alone as she felt.

Ella gave him another smile, though it was much more subdued.
" Thanks." Her delicate little shoulders shrugged self consciously.
" You too, I suppose." Her vowels when she was speaking quietly were beautiful with her accent.

Sam watched her carefully as they paid their bill and stood to leave. He opened the door for her, again watching as she seemed more subdued than the vivacious girl he had spoken with all that time. Finally when they were out in the open, Sam softly touched her arm and spoke in the same fashion.
"What's wrong wrong, Ella? You've gotten quiet."

Ella shrugged.
" I'm fine. I just think I need to learn how to censor myself sometimes." She smiled very softly.
" That's all." They began to walk down the road to the campus again, Ella twiddling with one of her rings.
