I pick #3. I can't stand it when they say he sings bad. Not alot of my friends understand the awesomeness that is opera but that's just because they refuse to see it as music. IT IS MUSIC I TELL YOU! And Erik's singing voice is much better than some of the people that try to play him.... especially the guy they picked at my school to play him *twitch* I want him dead.

*pokes Phantom Phan 4ever* My mom is almost exactly the same...'cept she gave up arguing with me about how I would choose Erik even with his deformity a long time ago. The last time we argued about that was when we were leaving the movie theater, she said, "How would you feel if you were married to someone who looked like that?" ...now that...was heartless. I'm not sure but I think I screamed at her for being so heartless and wouldn't speak to her on the car ride home. XD
She goes all nuts about Gerry (not that I mind cuz Gerry is cool) but she couldn't care less about Erik.

My mom doesn't even know the story of the phantom so she just lets me obsess over w/e I want. She always says "well...it could be worse" xd But I can understand how a misjudgement by a parental figure could hurt, but I know sometimes parents think about what they would do and then, just becuase you're their child, assume that that is of course the only path you would possibly think of choosing, failing to recognize of course the fact that they're child is an entirely different human being. It doesn't happen with PoTo but my mom does that a lot..
Mom: You would SO do *such and such*
Me: *growl* Nuh-huh scream
Mom: Yuh-huh!
Me: How would you know? stressed
Mom: Becuase I birthed you! cool
Me: And that gives you telekinesis powers to know what I'm thinking at all times along with the power of prophecy to know what I'm GOING to do.
Mom: Yup.
Me: eek Why didn't you TELL me you were Mrs. Clea?

My parents really aren't that harsh on me about Phantom. They hardly mention it, really, though I think they get annoyed when I talk about it so much. Like how I go on about what's different between the movie and book, and how I wanted to purchase the Susan Kay book, and how I want to buy all the different Phantom CDs, two disc, which cost a lot, to compare, how I watch the movie a lot, how I stare at my Broadway ticket a lot, and how the music is always blaring in my room. They'll make these snide comments about it sometimes, or sing it like their making fun of how opera is, and that's annoying. There's a fine line between joking and enjoying that joke -as in everyone- and making fun of it.

But she hates it when I drag mini-Erik tha plushie around. She says that's why his mask is near black (dirtyness). But then I tell her that way his mask will achieve its actual look. And then she just stares.
But mini-Erik likes to ride in my shirt with his head popping out! D:
