Devin simply shrugged her shoulders. She wasn't sure if they would even have time for some combat practice when they got back. It seemed that each time the reached a certain destination, something would go wrong and they'd have to pack up, and besides, Devin wanted to be ready at all times if they needed to evac or get to their battle formation. She didn't want to be caught off guard, but when she thought about it, a little "one on one" did seem like something to lighten up her mood.
"Sounds like fun..." She didn't want to seem like too much of a battle hardened marine so Devin forced herself to give Jon a friendly, half smile.

"Cool." Jon said quietly, letting out a grin, but not just a friendly grin, a grin at the thought of battle training..."Hey I don't like fighting, but I can be a battle hardened marine too ya know...It takes a strong will to go against the flood with no gun..."

Devin, once again, forced herself to smile and chuckled a bit at the thought of Jon going up against the Flood with nothing but his wits and daggers with him. She leaned her head back against the wall of the pelican and sighed as she closed her eyes. Tired and aching from the battle, Devin decided a short nap wouldn't do any harm and allowed her body to rest for the remainder of the ride.

"It will be fun to-oh" Jon noticed Devin had drifted off like he had not to long ago..."I could still use some rest..." Jon layed back, took off his helmet, and slowly, he drifted off to sleep as well.

((For future notice, OOC is to be limited to the OOC thread (Mess Hall) ONLY.))
The separatist Phantom breached the marine could layer that was slowly rolling in from the alien sea and took its place at the head of the Pelican flight. Several other drop ships took up escort positions around the flight of human transports. The Sangheili were unsure if the parasite had attained knowledge of aircraft, but they weren't about to take a chance. Banshees guarded the flanks while the last remaining Marine was lifted from the ark's surface. There was some slight turbulence as the craft neared the newly-patched Shadow of Intent. As the aircraft entered the massive hanger bay, the large ship activated its energy shielding around the gaping maw of the hanger and banked slightly to starboard as it rose from the clutches of the Ark's artificial gravity field.
The lead Phantom touched down briefly as Anso stepped onto the cool plating below. It soon took to the air once more as it was called back to its specific storage nook. The other Phantoms followed suit and were securely stored once the ship was underway. The Sangheili commander allowed himself a sigh. This nightmare was almost over. He composed himself and walked swiftly to the grouping of Pelicans. As a sign of respect he removed his helmet, revealing a face scarred and pitted by battle, with piercing amber eyes and a weary gaze. Despite the alien features, Anso had a soldier's bearing, and that carried across species. He approached Captain Lee and nodded to him. Anso had the utmost respect for the man. It was his team that led the diversion against Truth's forces, in many ways, he was responsible for the damned Prophet's death.
"Captain, you are in command of the human forces. Commander Keyes was killed by the Prophet of Truth, Commander Hammer has disappeared, and your Major has not made contact. The Ship Master will most likely wish to speak with you."

After leaving the pelican once they had stopped moving, Jon saw Anso talking to Lee and saluted the Elites around him, any Elite in that room could most likely kick his a** without breaking a sweat, and he knew it. Even though they had been enemys not too long ago Jon was honored to be surrounded by warriors as honorable and skilled as the Elites.

Robert ran up to the still wounded marines with a strange feeling of happiness disgust and sadness. he was happy he wasnt at he battlefield, not yet at least. he was gisgusted at the flood and thier way of thimking. lastly he was sad for the marines not only did they get wounded but they saw thier friends and partners dying and even changing all around. he took out the bandeges he had with him and tended to a few to keep them from collapsing

As soon as Devin had exited the pelican and touched the ground she straightened her back and saluted the Elite warriors. They had been enemies once, not too long ago, but Devin had high respect for the Sanghelli as they were honorable and brave warriors. She envied them for that.
After her thoughts had cleared, Devin turned to the injured marines still in the pelican and started to assist them out of the ship.

"Not at all, I asked somebody the same thing before I went against the flood for the first time."
"You should get a shotgun, Melee combat isn't a very useful way to fight the flood..." Dak unsheathed his combat knives and twirled them around his hands "Luckily for me I'm pretty fast and have been using knives since I was 11"
