Kat silently followed Cecilia into their room, and sat on the bed, looking around. He looked at the wall where Moriarty had been staring early, and put his face in his hand. "Nice one, brother." He said, quietly. "How in the hell did he knew I would wind up here?" He added. "How?" Clearly on the wall Kat could see the letters "Hallo, Kat." in between all the other crap. "I should have known my brother was up to no good when he left the house..."

Moriarty, meanwhile, was grinning from ear to ear as he followed her to the room. "Tomorrow night is going to be interesting." He said to her. "At this time tomorrow my shoulder will have healed. Then, we get to cause chaos." He mused, hopping onto her bed, and patting the spot on it next to him.

Luke sighed contently to himself as he listened to the booming rumble of drums echo up from the foot of the mountains. The villagers below believed that the gods of luck and mercy lived among the highest peaks, and offered prayers of thanksgiving and request daily, accompanied by drums and flutes, and various chants. No matter how many times they were told that only the Adepts of Air lived up here, they continued to believe, and Lucas enjoyed their music.

He frowned at the reports that littered the room, but sat down to browse through the papers anyhow, giving them each a precursory glance. The mechaniks had finished repairs to the air tunnel transports, and had begun work on the West side embankments. He tossed the papers aside with a bored sigh and started to pace the room, still thinking about last night.

After a minute, his eyes widened as he remembered that he was supposed to meet the others in the great hall. "Damn!" he muttered, then blurred and disappeared, using the wind to boost himself toward the Hall. If he was going to be a prince, he'd have to get used to being a politician instead of a killer. Could he do it? He had his doubts.

Illusion rubbed at her temples, she was tired from over 72 hours of no sleep. "Zig, we are in a state of war. I have no doubts that Kiro will soon be declaring war, and if not him than Princess Xin will. I've reason to believe that Xin has already gathered and become close to the Princess of Fire. They're probably already aligned by now!" She had to bite her tongue to keep from going on.

"If you side with Taun, I won't care..." Your country will "But I will be sorely disapointed to not have such a fine person like you on my side." She stopped talking to Zig, after all, her attention was supossed to be primarily focused on Taun.

"I will listen to what you have to say, and so will my husband. You may begin whenever. I will be keeping a record of this meeting incase he doesn't arrive any time soon."

Taun began slowly, he needed to tread carefully lest he upset anyone. "Well, I realize that you don't care who is at fault for the attack on your Kingdom. But since it was water, I hope to heal the divide between us. Therefore I am offering part of one of our islands for your use as you see fit. The soil is very fertile, and I have heard that your Kingdom is stretched thin for farmland."

Luke crowed happily as he fell through one of the open air skylights, slowing himself abruptly to a halt with an explosive updraft. He attempted to compose himself while lying on his stomach on a pillar of air, then coughed embarrassedly. "Erm, sorry. Hope I'm not too late? I was dealing with some of the notices from the mechaniks."

He released the draft and stepped gracefully to the ground. "Shall we begin?"

"We already did, but do not worry. You did not miss much."

Illusion turned her head towards the direction of Taun's voice as she got comfortable in her chair.

"Taun, before I hand over our negotiations to my husband I would like to point out or ask a few things. You have come here of your own free will did you not? You were not sent, least of all by Kiro. Do you really feel you are in a position to negotiate your land without approval from your superiors?" She paused. "Don't answer my question, just think on it. I would hate for Kiro to be unhappy with you."

Lucas frowned lightly, but his smile held on. "Hmmm, yes. I can agree with Illusion here. If you came to rectify this on your own without permission, I'm afraid that we cannot help you..."

He took on a sad expression. "I believe it might be best if you had proof from Water's commander, Lord Kiro, I belive?, before you attempt to straighten anything out."

He held up his hands in a peaceful gesture, shaking his head slowly. "This isn't to say that we don't appreciate your attempt. We will take what you have already told us into consideration. But I do not believe that reparations could be made without permission from Lord Kiro."

His eyes wandered over to Illusion, then back over to Taun. He exhaled abruptly and sat down on the air, crossing his legs beneath him. "Perhaps we should continue our conversation at a later date? Once you have spoken with Kiro about the goings on here at Palpisol, that is."

Taun looked down and thought to himself. And here I find myself outmaneuvered so quickly. I need to stop this war from happening though, no one wants it and no one needs it! Arrg! This is exactly why I left court society! They are so obsessed with formality, so everything becomes a personal attack upon ones honor!

As Kat fell asleep quickly in the other room, Moriarty was still sitting with Hidama in the other. He grinned widely as she placed her head on his arm, and pulled her down with him to lie down. "Now, where were we?" He said, and pulled her closer to himself to kiss her again.

"Of course," Taun said stiffly, standing up. "I thank you for your hospitality and for dinner. May happiness always follow you in your marriage." He then turned to Zig and said. "Zig, thank you for helping me to get here. I hope we meet again soon." He then bowed to the Prince and Princess and Zig and left the room.

Luke immediately made a pouting face, then laughed at his own childishness. "I wonder what Master Taun thinks of us? He had such a wry expression on his face as he left..."

He fell to silence, looking ponderously out the door.

"Mistress Zig," he said, softly. "If you wish to accompany him, you may. It seems wise for you to stay near him. As an emissary of sorts, if it please you. Master Taun may have taken my words the wrong way. Please see to it that I was not misunderstood."

Illusion sighed as she heard him leave, things had and hadn't gone according to plan. She stood up, feeling the cold marble floor against her boots before she began to gingerly move towards Lucas's scent.

"If nothing else, he had good intentions. Maybe not well thought out intentions, but good ones nonetheless." She touched him arm lightly, making sure he was there before leaning her head against his chest. "If water and fire ally against us, we will need to gain earth as quickly as possible..."

She could still feel Zig in the room, but didn't care. This was the way it was. Anyone should be able to see that Air was NOT in the best of conditions, not to mention that Earth was not politically active either. She had a feeling that at any time they woudl be attacked. The only thing keeping them safe was their alititude.

"All he could've given us was promises of islands that Kiro probably would not grant..." she murmered.
