"Well at least it's just some of us.. if it was everyone in the family it would take a long while," Lin replied, "There's a lot of people.... Miyu is on the porch, it would have been neat if your Daddy could have been able to see her, because I was told your Daddy knows Miyu's Daddy."
She paused and then added.
"If she skitters don't feel bad, she gets really nervous the first time.. or two."

Seeker giggled softly. "I'm not very frightening, am I?" she asked teasingly. "But yes, I won't take it amiss if she runs away. Though I hope she doesn't," she added as an afterthought.
After all, it was never a nice feeling to know that someone was scared of you.

"No... but she does that to everyone," Lin replied, "But once she knows you, it's okay. Being scary has nothing to do with it, Yue, my big brother, her Daddy, an make a student scramble just by looking at them, and her favourite person on the Ranch is Aragost. Trust me... scary has nothing to do with it."
Actually it was kind of funny when she thought about it, Miyu was, after the getting to know the person, was attracted to scary people. Not that Aragost was scary, but he still made other adults uneasy, they (the kids) loved him.

Miyu looked up, as usual seeing the much taller (in her eyes) woman. She tried not to skitter but it didn't keep her from edging towards the door, she couldn't help it. Even though logically she knew that this big person wasn't as tall as Yami-san.

Lothiriel smiled softly and nodded. "I see," she murmured. "I believe I want to meet this Aragost person ... I can't say why ... but something is telling me I must ..."
Something in her gift, something she couldn't physically see, but something she Saw.
She waved gently at Miyu as they approached the girl. "Hello," she said softly, trying to make herself as un-scary as possible.

The little girl looked up with wide eyes and shyly waved back at the woman. She had pretty hair, probably because it was in ringlets and she had never seen anyone's hair in ringlets before.

"Come on Miyu," Lin grabbed her neice's hand before the other girl could run off, "This is Lothiriel, she's really nice."
At least nice when she wasn't threatening Pen from the sounds of it, the thought just made Lin giggle.

Lothiriel knelt to her knees on the ground in front of Miyu to make herself smaller, some of her ringlets falling forward as she did so and bouncing off the timid half-angel's knees.
"It's very nice to meet you," she smiled warmly, holding out one hand invitingly. "I understand that you are very good friends with Aragost ... but you have a special name for him, don't you?"

Miyu nodded nervously placing gingerly one hand lightly upon Lothiriel's inviting one. This wasn't so bad... at least she tried to tell herself.
"I.... like being with Yami-san."

"Yami-san," Lothiriel repeated softly, her eyes clouding over as she retreated to her inner Sight for a moment. "He is very dark, isn't he?" she murmured quietly. "Black as night ... but only in dress, yes? A kind soul, though he chooses to remain aloof for the most part ... a mystery to most ... but very dear to some."
She blinked, and her eyes returned to normal.
"Oh ... sorry," she blushed. "It's a habit I can't quite get out of."

Miyu blinked, wondering what Lothiriel had done, it was like she was gazing. She had seen that type of gazing but no the way Lothiriel did so.
"H-hai... Yami-san is Mr. Dark, but he's very nice."

Lin wondered if Aragost would tell Lothiriel, after all it wasn't like she had much contact with the family in the castle and she could keep a secret. Besides it would be better than her finding out if her Sight kicked in.
She scratched her cheek thoughtfully.

Lothiriel smiled at Miyu. "He must be," she nodded, smiling warmly, "if he has your trust and friendship. I understand that sometimes it's hard to meet new people ... but sometimes, it is worth fighting your fear so that you can meet people and find good friends like Yami-san is to you."
She squeezed Miyu's hand gently, her eyes sparkling brightly.
Then she glanced at Lin. "Something on your mind?" she asked softly.

It wasn't easy though, for her to take away what was a long life habit so far. Miyu though nodded at this assessment because it was true, in the end it was good to meet new people.
She smiled a bit more, being put at eased for the most part.

"Oh..." Lin blinked, "Just thinking to myself."
No point in saying anything until Aragost was ready to say something about it, and no point in warning him because the moment he probably knew everything about her anyhow. Which meant he was well prepared for that what if.
