Keegan clapped slowly, his grin growing wider as Kasiya came nearer to him. "Nice," he said, bending down to kiss her forehead. She was warm and her skin was slightly damp, and tasted slightly salty. "How about we just cut to the chase and take the fight right to Flannery, eh?" he asked, putting his arm around her. The heat still wasn't bothering him, but he was starting to assume that it would change once the actual gym battle began.
Having grown up with Flannery close by, he knew the gym's layout almost better than he knew his own home. It wasn't excatly cheating, but it wasn't playing by the rules, either. He did figure that she probably wouldn't care either way, but by the time they reached the proper room, Flannery would be just about ready anyway, and she might not have even noticed that they took less time than usual to get there.
Keegan lead the two of them through the remainder of the gym's puzzle quickly but carefully, managing to avoid gaining the attention of any more of the trainers who lay in wait in the hot sand. Upon reaching the last sand-filled hole, he looked to Kasiya and smiled. "Flannery is right down there through that hole," he said with a quick nod. "Let's do this." He took a deep breath and steeled himself, almost unable to believe he was about to face his childhood friend in a gym battle. He jumped through the sand.

[go keegan & kasiya! ]
"Or... dinner," Michael said, looking up at the grayish sky tinted with orange and pink where it met the horizon. Time had flown by, it felt, though truthfully the trip to Slateport had taken a little while and the sun always slipped the fastest to bed. Mary-Anne simply smiled, grabbing onto her older's brother arm. It made her feel like the little girl who tagged along everywhere with him again.
"So, what have /you/ been doing lately, big bro?" she asked, looking up to his face.
"Oh, same old, same old. Y'know, rushing off for some rambucklin' adventures, saving the damsel in distress, etc."
"Riiiight."
"What, you don't believe me? Well then. Nothing new, really. Just went down to Kanto to help out an old friend when mum called." He fiddled with one of the two Pokeballs, balancing it on his index finger and spinning it as if it were a basketball. "You know, I think I'll go back into coordinating for a while before retiring. Jin still wants to show off," he said, smiling fondly as he released the Pokemon. In a flash and sparkles, a gorgeous Masquerain made itself part of the crowd. It floated in the air a moment, humming, before settling itself on Michael's arm.
M.A. smiled and gave a little 'hi.'
"Oh, not even a little wince! I daresay you've gotten over your bug phobia." The young man grinned broadly.
"Almooost," she said reluctantly. Well, she'd known this Masquerain for who knows how long and he had stopped scaring her quite a long while ago, but it was true that he continued to creeped her out with those huge 'eyes' of his. But he /was/ nice, the girl thought, remembering Sting and Ky. They'd taught her to look past the Bug-exterior and see the Pokemon's character inside.
The two grabbed burgers for themselves and their mother and Pokefood for the rest before heading back to the hospital.
"So, have you decided on what you want to do yet? Training, coordinating, breeding, bank robbing...?"
"Hah. Well, no... not yet." M.A. sighed, falling into thought (which was visible, as her brow deepened and her step slowed, to her brother's amusement). Training was nice. And coordinating was too. But it almost seemed that if she went the latter route, she'd be compared to her amazing brother, and she almost worried that she wouldn't meet expectations. She wasn't brilliant like he was. It seemed silly to her when she phrased it in her head, but that obstacle remained to block her way down that road.

Kasiya smiled and closed her eyes, feeling a little melty from the kiss. Then again, it could have been just the heat, but her heart told her otherwise. "I'm ready, I think," she said a bit hesitantly, but then confirmed her words with a curt nod. "Yes. Let's get to it!" She refused to let on just how terrified she felt at that moment in time, but she knew herself well enough to know that if she backed out now, she'd never test her mettle against Flannery, let alone any of the other Hoenn Gym Leaders.
She wordlessly followed Keegan through the gym's hazy puzzle, silently thinking ahead to the wonderful time she planned to spend relaxing in the hot springs after the battles were over. The sand made her hands feel gritty and itchy, and she could feel it in her hair, in the folds of her skin, and just about every other place sand could go. She was incredibly uncomfortable, and she figured that forcing opponents to fight under such conditions was just another one of Flannery's battle tactics, just like how her father liked to belittle his challengers for the entire duration of match.
When Keegan finally stopped, and gestured to one final sandy hole, Kasiya sighed with relief. "Thank goodness," she said, peering down at it as though it might open up and reveal the redheaded Gym Leader for her. "Go get her, Keegan," she said, standing on tiptoe and giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "This is for luck." She watched him disappear through the sand, and then glanced up at the ceiling for a moment. Although you won't need it, she thought with a smirk before she too jumped through the sandy threshold. *** Flannery was indeed waiting patiently as the two trainers seemingly dropped from the ceiling, leaving a sandy spot where they landed. Her heart raced in her chest from anticipation, as the prospect of battling two of her friends was rather exciting. She studied the two of them in turn, each brushing the sand from their bodies, and smiled. "Well, now that you're here, there is really only one thing to do now." One hand was resting on her hip as she held up a shimmering, crimson badge. "This is the official Gym Badge of Lavaridge - the Heat Badge. If you can defeat me, it will be yours. This goes for both of you," she added, nodding to Kasiya. "I really don't wanna repeat myself, y'know? Seems kinda silly." She turned her back on the two trainers and placed the badge safely in a box. "Both battles shall be three-on-three, with no time limit. Items are forbidden, and since it's my gym and I get to make the rules-" (a girlish giggle was then heard from the fiery girl) "-switching is not. That means that any trainer, myself included, can switch Pokemon at any given time.
She then gestured to a large scoreboard up on the wall behind her. The side on the left (and obviously the red side) had Flannery's picture, and three squares which would denote which Pokemon she'd chosen. The other side (conveniently enough blue in colour) was currently blank. After a moment or two, a young man came into the room and took his place on the referee's pedestal, and pointed to the two kids with the red flag. "Which of you shall challenge Flannery first?" he asked, dropping his hands to the sides.

Jaeshan felt a good chunk of his confidence return as Combusken stepped forward, eager to get started. He felt a sense of pride at how far the young Pokemon had come in only a week (a week, and yet she'd already achieved her first evolution!) and he knew she would only continue to grow stronger. He also knew that Beldum would grow stronger too, although the strange Steel/Psychic-type would prove to be his toughest challenge as a trainer yet.
"Lotad, use Nature Power again!" the young girl cried, eying Combusken nervously. Her small Pokemon jumped up, letting the powers around it form into another Swift attack. Combusken jumped up in an attempt to avoid them, but they followed her every movement, striking her without fail. Grumbling, Combusken landed on the ground, her gaze narrowing as she awaited her command.
"Scratch attack," Jaeshan said calmly, his fingers still lightly touching Beldum's Pokeball. Combusken raced forward, keeping her arms at her sides before lashing out quickly, delivering a quick strike to her opponent. The Lotad seemed a bit surprised from the sudden attack, and hopped back a bit, worry etched on its face.
"Oh no... Try another Nature Power, Lotad!" the young trainer called out. With some effort, the Lotad managed to lob another Swift at Combusken, who didn't bother to try and dodge this time. Instead, she dashed forward, opening her beak and letting out a quick burst of flames. The ember was powerful enough to knock out the Lotad, and give Combusken the victory.

"Okay!" Mike brushed himself off, giving a thumbs up to the still nervous Cancea. He spied the warp panel that would take him farther into the base just ahead, the boy hoped he was going in the right direction. Sure, Kilik saving the day would be all fine and dandy, but...well you know, it's fun to be the hero.
"Stop right there!" The boy jumped at the sudden rise in volume as he whipped around. The Aqua Grunt stood defiantly. "I'm not done yet!"
"Oh-ho yes you are." The former Magma admin retorted. "That you just fought was the most inexperienced Pokemon I own. There is no way I'm wasting my stronger Pokemon's time on someone like you."
The Grunt froze. "Y-your weakest?" He stammered, looking back to his wounded Nidorino. If his weakest did that, I wonder what his most powerful one is capable of?
"Yeah yeah, whatever." The boy snapped his fingers, obviously sick of waiting around. "Come on Prickles, we out." The two made their way onto yet another warp tile before disappearing in a flash of light.

Keegan was brushing the sand from his clothes as Kasiya dropped down next to him, and he looked up to see Flannery standing before them. Something about the way she looked down at them made her look very regal, like she was born to be the gym leader here. He payed careful attention as she spoke, telling them the rules of the battle and whatnot, nodding along slowly. He didn't have any healing items anyway, so it wasn't like that rule would affect him. He noted the referee as he came in, not recognizing him. He must be new, Keegan thought, scratching his chin.
"I will be the first," he said, coming off a little more harshly than he meant to. "I've been looking forward to this for a long time." His grin was wide as he reached a hand to his belt, already knwoing which Pokemon he'd be sending out to begin the battle. He took his place in the challenger's box and scuffed his shoes in the dirt, marking it up a little. "Let's get this party started!"

"Excellent," the referee said, pressing a button on the pedestal in front of him. A second later, Keegan's picture lit up on the blue side of the scoreboard, as well as three separate boxes for his Pokemon.
"You sure you're ready for this, Keegan?" Flannery asked, spinning the Pokeball on the tip of her finger rather deftly. "I'm not going to go easy on you, so you'd better give it your all!"
"Let this official gym battle begin! The challenger, Keegan, versus Flannery, leader of the Lavaridge gym! Go!" The referee raised both his flags, signaling the battle's start.
Flannery threw her Pokeball, revealing the first Pokemon she would be using. It was small and reddish, and its body appeared to be made of flowing, bubbling lava - a Slugma. Flames spewed from various pores of its body as the bubbles of lava burst, and as it slithered forward, it left a scorched trail on the ground behind it. Flannery's hands rested on her hips as she looked to her friend, and winked. "You're up, Keegan," she said.
Kasiya had retreated to the sidelines, finding herself seated on the same bench she'd initially sat on when watching the first part of Mike's battle. She already felt a bit lonely, since Keegan's mind would be focused on Flannery and nothing else (and why shouldn't it be?), so she took a Pokeball from her belt and released Leviathan. Still a little tired from her bought with the Rattata, the Marshtomp sat patiently beside her trainer, eager to watch the fight.
"You won't be participating in my battle with Flannery, Levi, but I do want you to watch both fights. There's a lot you can learn from being a spectator," she told the young Pokemon, who nodded, not looking terribly upset that she'd be sidelined. "Go get her, Keegan!" Kasiya cheered, clapping loudly. She wanted him to know that she was in his corner for this (although she wouldn't be absolutely devastated if Flannery won, seeing as the gym leader was also her friend).

Weezing popped out of the Pokeball, his eyes closed and his mouth slightly open. Toxic drool was seeping from his lips and he fell to the ground with a thud. The moment he came into contact with the tile floor, the Poison-type woke up, all four eyes bursting open and darting around the room excitedly. Finally! He was outside! He took a deep breath and unleashed a mighty, very gaseous expulsion in the shape of a heart. The cloud floated over to Kilik, who began to cough violently. It had been so long since he'd last sent out his partner that he had grown accustomed to a little something known as 'fresh air'.
"Now Weezing," he motioned for the hovering goof to come over, "See that Electrode? You've got to KO him. If you do..." he scratched his neck then snapped his fingers, swinging his backpack around and pulling his old leather boots out. They were covered in mud from his trek over to Lilycove with Mike. "You can have these!" he sang. Weezing's eyes widened and his tongue swirled around his lips slowly, leaving a trail of saliva all over his mouth. The Pokemon turned his attention to the Electrode and glared. He'd do anything for those disgusting boots.
Electrode wasted no time in attacking now that the introductions were complete. The sphere spun its body quickly, unleashing a Sonicboom attack that sliced the air towards Weezing. He floated there stupidly, waiting for Kilik's command to attack. When it never came, the glutton opened his mouth and sucked in a lot of air, floating up right before taking any damage.
"Weezing!" Kilik laughed, "Flamethrower!" He clenched his fist. Fighting alongside Weezing was always a blast, and usually ended in a blast too. Of course, he'd let his partner live to see another fight and not command a Self-Destruct close to the end. Weezing's cheeks began to glow a bright red and smoke began to billow out of his pores. Tears streamed out of all four of his eyes before he opened his mouth and let loose a massive stream of fire.
Electrode's eyes widened. How could that Pokemon know a move like Flamethrower?! Its eyes slammed shut and he tried to roll out of the way, to no avail. It was encompassed in the fire, and when the attack stopped it could barely feel anything, not that there was much to feel in the first place.
Weezing preened. This was going to be a much easier fight than he had anticipated. "Weeeee....zing." he burped, a small amount of fire escaping his lips.

Kilik crossed his arms and let the battle continue nearly unsupervised. His partner had it all under control so issuing commands was merely a formality at this point. Though a bit challenged in the mind, Weezing did manage to put the battles in his favor in the strangest ways. He watched the Electrode loose a Swift, which scared Weezing greatly. The Poison Gas Pokemon flew around the room, screaming wildly as he attempted to avoid the Swift. Kilik snickered when Weezing passed over his head. The trainer pointed towards the back of the room, which made his Pokemon head in that direction.
With the sudden change in course, Electrode was struck by it's own Swift attack. The sphere rolled into the back wall and was knocked out. It's eyes became small x's and its mouth was in the shape of a very wide frown. Weezing preened once more, puffing up what little anyone could consider a 'chest' and closed his eyes, celebrating his victory silently.
Kilik ran his hand through his hair and looked over his shoulder at the pad that brought him into this room. When he turned his attention back to Weezing, he said "Let's get going. Mike's wai---" He cut himself short. The trainer spied a sphere laying on the desk in the room. Raising an eyebrow, Kilik took a step towards it, taking it up in his hand. "What the...?" he tilted his head, staring at the purple, pink and white sphere. In the middle was a white 'M' between two pink bulges. It seemed so...familiar.
Weezing hovered down beside his trainer and glanced at the ball in his hands. It was purple, like him. Was Master going to put him in a new Pokeball to make sure he knew which Pokemon he was getting? Surely not. After all, Weezing loved his Pokeball. Kilik suddenly clenched the sphere in his hand. "I know what this is!" he snapped, "A Master Ball! The same type of ball that Giovanni took from Silph Co. when I..." he bit his lip, "What's more is...why does Team Aqua have it? If Giovanni perfected the Master Ball, then..." he shook his head and then threw the ball to the floor in a rage.
The sphere shattered upon impact and the trainer disappeared from the room, leaving behind only plastic, wires, and the desk.

Mike and Prickles were then warped into yet another room, this one seemed like a sort of cargo storage area. The boy grabbed his head, letting out an annoyed and frustrated groan. Even though the boy had taken training under Team Magma to withstand the disorienting effects of the warp tiles, it had been a while since then. He wasn't used to it, and his head was starting to hurt, really bad. "I'll be glad if I never have to step foot in this awful place ever again." Mike whined, slowly rubbing his temples in hopes to alleviate the pain.
The Cacnea however, was feeling fine, aside from the anxiety of the current situation. Being a Pokemon, it was much more accustom to adverse ailments than humans, so a few teleport sessions was nothing. But while he was physically fine, he was a mess otherwise. He wanted to find his trainer, and find her soon. Who knows what kind of trouble she was in.
"Don't worry about it Prickles!" Mike dashed over to the staircase and cautiously crept up, waving his hand as if to signal there was no issue. "We'll have her back soon, just you wait." He whispered, trying to keep quiet. The two quickly and quietly made it to the top of the stairs. "Excellent!" Mike quietly exclaimed upon seeing the familiar computer lab. "After this is the executive office, where I can almost guarantee Sasha is." Reaching into his backpack, the boy withdrew his PokeNav, sending a short (but grammatically correct) text to Kilik to meet up with him, along with a (hopefully) understandable instruction on what panels to take. He finished with a notice that (he thinks) he took care of all the guards along the way.
When he finished, he stuffed the gadget back in the bag and peered around the corner. Only one guard. Judging from the last couple of battles, this one would be no sweat. It's whoever was in the office he was worried about. He wasn't stupid enough to underestimate the leaders of an organization this size; that'd just be suicide. Alright, here we go. The boy stood up, and strolled casually into the room.
---
Shelly had been occupying herself by filing her nails, occasionally looking over to see if the little brat had woken up from her 'nap'. "The pains of being the best." She sighed, and continued to inspect her ruby red nails for any imperfection whatsoever. Suddenly, the door flew open, and the Aqua admin unenthusiastically glanced upward. It were two of her own men. What were there names again? She thought, not that it mattered. The two were out of breath and scrambling towards her, each attempting to speak over the other. It was loud, and annoying. Shelly stood up, lifted her long slender arm and smacked both of them into silence.
"QUIET!" She shouted, the two men shut up instantly. "What is the meaning of interrupting my quiet alone time?" Shelly pointed to one of the grunts and then crossed her arms, unamused. "You." She demanded coldly.
"Well, madam." Vince stammered nervously. "We have an issue." He recoiled, abuse was obviously a constant answer from this particular woman.
"An...issue?" The admin inquired, simply narrowing her eyes more at them.
The grunt stole a quick glance at the captive girl, who was still knocked out. He winced at the small trickle of blood that pooled around her chin. It must have hurt. "You see, there is this kid here, and he demands we release the girl." Vince shuffled nervously as he continued his story. "We tried to stop him but he's tough ma'am. Real tough. Not only that, he brought a friend with him, and he's no slouch either." He swallowed a lump in his throat, almost too scared to say what he had to next. "What's worse, it seems he's a member of Team Magma."
Shelly's expression quickly changed from annoyance to intrigue. Team Magma huh? Judging from the progress he was making this must be a high ranking official. Defeating him would make her look real good in the boss' eyes. But what does he want with this brat? She thought to herself, a bit confused at the reason behind this.
"Ma'am, what do we do?" Marty looked behind him at the door, certain any second the two boys were going to storm through.
The Aqua admin remained calm and collected. "You, lock the door." She snapped her finger at Marty, then pointed to Vince. "You, take your partner here and go inform the boss. Even though I hate to trouble him with something so trivial, we can't be too careful." She sounded more excited than her usual. She looked forward to these sort of 'disturbances' quite happily. It wasn't often when she had a challenge.
The two grunts ran to the teleporter behind the admin, disappearing instantly. Shelly looked over at Sasha, who stirred slightly. "Let's hope your friends are tough," She unhooked a Pokeball from her belt and smirked. "because I don't go down easily."

Kilik placed his hands on his hips, taking a glance around the room containing the thirteen warp panels. Getting back to the starting point wouldn't be too hard. He took a glance over at Weezing, who was taking his precious time eating the boots his Master had promised him. He was halfway through the first boot before he decided to gulp the rest of it down, along with the whole second one. There was a mighty belch which nearly drowned out the ringing of his PokeNav.
Kilik took the device out of his bag and flipped it open. A pixel Pidgey was tapping at the screen with a note in its beak. He accepted the message and scanned it over. "Well, Weezing. Seems we're reaching the end of our little escapade." He saved the message, to peer at later in case he forgot the warp pad order , then held up Weezing's Pokeball. With a sigh, the Gas Pokemon hovered over. Extending his tongue, he touched the button and went inside. "Good boy," Kilik said, running his thumb over his nose. With that, he stepped onto the middle panel and warped all the way to the other side of the room.
The boy stumbled for a moment, but managed to find his balance right before stepping onto the pad that brought him into this whole mess in the first place. When he reappeared, he noticed he was in the room that he battled alongside Mike in. Kilik pulled out the PokeNav and glanced at the message again. "Take...that one?" he looked to the other end of the room at the pad Mike had taken earlier. With a nod, the trainer ran across the room to the pad and disappeared once more.
The room he appeared in next was one he'd not visited. It was unfamiliar and very small. There was a single stairway and nothing more, excluding the pad that he stood on now. Kilik scratched his chin and took the stairs up, figuring it was the right way to go. At the top of the stairs was a very large room, with many large machines. The room itself was loud and the remnants of a battle were fresh. As Kilik headed to the warp pad, he could hear a voice speaking quietly and in a shaken tone: "I...l-lost...no, Archie, I'm...s-sorry..." Archie? Surely the Aqua Leader wasn't in the room. Kilik ducked behind one of the smaller machines and looked around. The room was empty except for that Grunt and himself. He stepped on the pad and suddenly felt a rush overtake him as he vanished once more.

As expected, Mike was rewarded for his trespassing behavior with an angry shout at a forced Pokemon battle. The heroic grunt sent out a Carvahna, which appeared to be his only Pokemon. The Pokemon snapped its jaws hungrily, and the Magma boy might have been intimidated if he wasn't in such a hurry. "Listen, I gotta be somewhere soon," Mike said looking at his watch. "So if you don't mind, I'd like to end this in two turns or less." Feeling no need to waste time this round, he tossed up an Ultra Ball, releasing Portebello.
Let's make this one quick P.B. Mike thought, letting out a sigh. Do that cool move you did against Lisa, the one with the explosive seeds.
Yes Master! The Breloom responded, trying to recall what it was he did in that last fight. He remembered something about to do with his tail, but he was still a bit hazy on the details. It was like he wasn't the one in control when he performed that technique. Nevertheless, Portabello jumped into the air, forcefully flicking his tail in the direction of the Water Pokemon. Three large seeds were flung from the tip of his tail and collided with the Carvahna before either it or its trainer had a chance to react. The resulting explosion KO'd the poor Pokemon, and Mike was made the victor.
"You see, this is why I can't use to so much P.B.," The boy said with a yawn. "You just can't stop winning." He winked, lifting up the Breloom's Ultra Ball.
It is my lot in life Master. Portabello faked a depressed sigh. I will just have to deal with it. The Pokemon smiled proudly before being returned to his Ultra ball. Mike always loved using him in battle. He had yet to let him down once. The boy's attention turned to the Grunt, who was still attempting to gather his thoughts on just what happened.
"Here's a hint." Mike walked over to the Grunt, a cocky grin playing on his lips. "I kicked your a**!" He laughed, quite loudly. "Now go to your boss or wherever, I don't care, just get out of my way I got a princess to save!"
The Grunt glared and ran off past our hero and down the stairs where Mike had just recently come from. "I wonder if he'll meet up with Kilik." He laughed at the thought. His friend was much taller and more imposing than he was. But then again, he was wearing the robes of Team Aqua's sworn enemies.
The boy and the Cacnea made it to the door which lead to the executive office, only to be met with a slight impasse: it was locked. "Aw damn." Mike thought, as he shuffled through his pockets. "Great." He snorted. "I left my lock pick at home." The two stood there in front of the door silently cursing themselves for not looking for a key.
"Let's hope Kilik has a spare."

(( ninja )) Keegan looked up at the scoreboard as a picture of Flannery's Slugma appeared in the first box. He eyed the Lava Pokemon carefully, knowing that he's seen it before. Let's see... is this Megu or Magu? he thought, scratching his chin. When they were younger, Flannery had been raising a pair of Slugma, and even though she could tell them apart at a glance, no one else had ever been able to.
It was of little consequence though, as he would find out soon enough. He glanced over at Kasiya, seeing that she'd let Leviathan out of her Pokeball and the two were sitting together, both watching intently. Keegan wasn't sure but for a moment he could swear that he saw Levi glare at him through the haze, and he frowned. What did he have to do to get that Pokemon to like him?
He pulled a Pokeball from his belt and smiled as he studied it. It's been a while since we battled together, he thought, giving it a kiss before he flung it. A long, serpentine shape took form, and Loki rose up from the ground, hissing savagely. His fangs were bared and he flared his 'hood' at the little Pokemon before him, using his Intimidate ability to the fullest. He stared at the Slugma for a moment before turning to look at Keegan for reassurance. This was his was his opponent? Seriously? When his trainer nodded, Loki moved into position, eyes fixed on his opponent. "Let's get this started, eh?" Keegan said with a smirk.

Kilik emerged by a large stack of red boxes. He felt a little disoriented then glanced at the staircase in front of him. According to Mike's message, this was the last set of stairs before he could make it to his friend. A very shocked Grunt came running down the stairs and bumped into Kilik, falling to the ground. Kilik stared down at him and then grabbed him by the collar. "You should watch where you're running," he smirked, "You could hurt yourself. Or worse, me." He glared daggers at the man, having a bit of fun, knowing full well that the Grunt wouldn't attempt to fight back. From sheer shock of losing and fear of Kilik's imposing manner, he fainted, becoming dead weight in the boy's large fists. With a sigh, Kilik dropped the man with a loud THUD and gave him a light kick with his foot.
"Out like a light. Boy," he laughed, "being mean can be fun." The boy ran his thumb over his nose and dashed up the staircase, snagging up Weezing's Pokeball in case of an attack from anywhere that Mike may have forgotten to check. When it was clear, Kilik walked over to his partner and slipped a hand into his pocket.
"Door locked?" he laughed, tossing Weezing's ball up and down a few times, "I could always have him use Explosion on the door. That'll make for quite an entrance. One that Rockets are known for," he pulled the pin off of his shirt and stuffed it into his pocket. Parading around as a member of Team Rocket did bring its advantages, especially when infiltrating an opposing Team's base, not that he had to use it that much.
Kilik knew full well that he would need all the power he could get should they be forced to fight any Admins or even Archie himself, and Weezing was definitely going to be necessary. Wasting one of his most powerful assets on something so trivial would be, in a way, suicide. He crossed his arms. "How do you suppose we get in, Mike?"

Flannery found herself flinching at the Arbok's presence, and she watched Megu do the same. Not that it really mattered though; Megu wasn't about physical attacks. She'd noted the puzzled look on Keegan's face as he studied her Slugma, and it made her smile. She looked up at the scoreboard as Loki's image appeared in one of the boxes, and then to the referee as he raised his flags. "Begin!" he shouted.
"So you remember my little Slugma, do you?" she called out in a playful tone. "I'll warn you though, he's a lot tougher than he used to be. Ready Megu? Start things off with your Yawn!"
Megu gave a little gurgle, appearing to be excited. It's eyes were wide and happy at the sight of its old friend, and almost instantly it started to move forward, eager to go say hello. "Megu! Now isn't the time for that!" Flannery shouted, stamping her foot like an angry child. "Keegan's here for a battle! Get it together, Megu!"
The Slugma stopped, and nodded. There would be time for pleasantries later. Still excited to see its old friend, Megu opened its mouth wide and let out a large Yawn, making the air around them both feel a little heavier.
"I guess Keegan knows that Pokemon," Kasiya thought, stifling a yawn herself. Those things sure were contagious, and she didn't want to be in Loki's position just now. Levi, who's gaze was shifting back and forth from trainer to Pokemon, finally decided to leave Keegan in her line of sight, curious as to what the boy would do in response to the Fire Pokemon's passive first attack.
