Mirri steered the two away from the central command chair towards one of the glass walls of the bridge. She pushed both into control chairs facing the bow. She took a seat to the left of them. "Beautiful isn't it. Octavian built this ship himself." Mountains wizzed by as the ship began moving to an unspecified locations. The cat woman put her feet up and began grooming her arm. She caught herself before doing it too much. She wasnt supposed to do that in the company of visitors. If she could blush her face would have been stop sign red.

Octavian spoke calmly to Sek. "I had 4 assets in Eden." he glanced at the two with Mirri. He thought down to the cache of ammo and the weapon he retrieved. "Besides, nothing has been lost. Nothing crucial or nonreattainable has been lost." He pressed a button on the chair's pad, and the screen pulled up a map. He pressed a location near Atlantis, a place inconsistent with the direction they were going in. He pressed the location, and pressed another button which required a code. Everyone in the ship received a nauseous feeling of non existence and bodily uncertainty. Suddenly they were above the water.

"fine, but I've got some sort of old Chronos ship trying to get in. automated response is a bit fuzzy on details." Sek sighed. "as soon as you get here, we can begin awakening Atlantis."

---

The tinny voice replied, "s=Sek is currently busy. permission to board... denied. passcode required to enter."

Noryoku cursed again. If this Sek could pilot a Chronos flagship, he had to either be 1: from Chronos or 2: A really good hacker. Noryoku hoped it was the former. Punching a few buttons, Noryoku set the Litany on autopilot. He had to think. Noryoku stood up from the captains chair and began to pace.

The multitude of turrets on the Survivor followed the Litany as it moved. Sek had the crew wary of any foreign boarders, since nobody should know that the Chronos president was still alive.

Noryoku was still pacing in his quarters when the computer hailed him. "The Dauntless has trained its port side turrets on us. There are numerous lock-on signatures, and plasma flow has been increased 30% in the last 15 minutes." Noryoku stopped in his tracks. "He wouldn't..." he breathed. He bolted out of his quarters, racing for the captain's chair. "Computer: Transfer all power to the shields. What is the status on the weaponry?" "Current armaments are as follows: (4) 125mm 'Scout I' Accelerator Cannons, (2) Gatling Pulse Lasers. There are no charges aboard this vessel." Noryoku smacked his forehead with his palm. "Dammit! I forgot to grab charges while I was in Eden. I'm basically a sitting duck out here." Grabbing the controls, he piloted the ship toward one of the hangars on the massive battleship. Computer, what are the schematics for that ship?" "Ship schematics are as follows: Shields-5000 hp. Armor-4000 hp. Internal Structure-4000 hp." Chronos flew into the bridge and landed on Noryoku's shoulder. "Brace yourself buddy. It's gonna be a wild ride." He opened the throttle all the way. The Litany of Fury shot forward on a direct collision course with the hangar's sealed bulkhead doors.

Sek swore as the ship began it's ramming course. "Hit that thing's engine pods! Bay damage might require us landing! also, scramble that things trajectory solutions so we can get more precise hits! bay six, you've got company! cluster missile the front shields so that we'll sustain less energy damage!" As he spoke, the crewmen began to follow his orders.

"database, I need specs for that ship!"

Noryoku gripped the controls tighter. The the bridge was illuminated a deep red from the alert lights. A rapid beeping sounded in the cabin, and Noryoku looked out the main viewscreen to see a volley of cluster missles streaking towards his ship. Noryoku twisted the Litany around so the forward shields would take the hit. The entire ship shuddered from the impact, Noryoku almost falling out of his seat. "Computer: Damage assement." Foward Shields: 5%, Port and Starboard shields: 90%, Aft Shields: 100%. Warning: Tajectory Scrambler Detected. Noryoku felt the ship begin to drift off course. "Computer: Manual Control! Divert power from Aft to Foward Shields." Noryoku grabbed the controls again. He sent the Litany into a controlled spin to avoid the second barrage of missles. The Litany shook again as repeated volley from the turrets hammered it. "Crap. The ship can't take much more of this." Noryoku muttered to himself. He glanced to a small red button on the console in front of him." I don't want to have to use it, but they did try to kill me. They must be pirates or something." The button keyed to a experimental thermonuclear smartbomb held in the Litany's cargo hold. It wasn't part of the computer's memory, and thusly could not be found using a general ship scan. Noryoku flipped open the cover and entered his passcode. The use of nuclear weapons is now authorized. A voice said, male instead of the computer's usual female voice. Noryoku thumbed the trigger on his controls. He'd have to be close. The ship shook again. Warning: Shields Down, Hull at 50%. "I just hope I live long enough to use it on these people." Noryoku muttered.

Sek watched the incoming ship's shields fail. The computer flared up with warnings.

<-> Nuclear device detected onboard!

Nuclear device active!

Threat level recalculated= Massive
<->

"What?! How does he have a nuke?! It must be from Pandora! Radiation shields up! Activate flagship armor sequence! EMP that thing now!"

He flicked open the key for the bridge shields, punching in his presidential ID. The large windows of the bridge became shielded in gray metal coverings as the view went from natural to computer-generated.

All fire stopped, as to shorten the EMP charge to nearly instantaneous power. The resulting blast wasn't a beam, but a shockwave of energy that caused radiation shielding to flicker noticably. the unshieded systems on the cannons died off, waiting for rebooting.

Sek carefully watched the screen. "That ought to keep us safe from that nuke... thats the second time the presidential EMP has been used... and the first time since the Invasion.."

Genesis looked at the ship, eyes sparkling. "I've worked on ships almost my entire lift, but I've never seen one this beautiful." she smiled. "I have no clue what some of theses parts are. I've never seen ones like them before." she commented. Chibi jumped on her shoulder, wrapping his tail around her neck defensively. Genesis scratched his ear, making him purr.

Noryoku guidded the ship through the hailstorm of plasma slugs and missles. Suddenly, the lights in the ship flickered and everything powered down. Noryoku froze. "That was...that was an EMP. No one but the predsident has clearence to..." He trailed off. "Oh crap. What have I done?" He slumped back in his chair and ran his fingers through his hair. "I just tried to kill the president of Chronos." He looked out the main viewscreen. The Litany was drifting more off course as the engines died. The lights flickered again, and a low yellow glow filled the bridge. Auxillary Power Restored. Running systems check.... Noryoku re-entered the code for the bomb. Thermonuclear Device Disarmed. Closing Bay Doors. "Computer: Hail the Dauntless again. I'd like to speak with the President. And run a damage assesment too." Noryoku said wearily. Damage assesment is as follows. Shields: Down, Shield Generators: Offline, Hull: 56%, Extensive damage to Forward and Port Side Plating. Severe Damage to primary thrusters, Secondary thrusters online. Capacitor at 30%. Main generator: Offline, extensive damage to warp core. Noryoku groaned. This would take a bite out of his funds.

Sek responded to the hail, "well, hostile ship, your attack's been thwarted... now what do you want with The Dauntless, or as I now name it, The Survivor? I'm sure another attack on this vessel would end in your life, but if you belong to Pandora, I wouldn't be surprised if you tried again."

The tinny voice was gone, since Sek felt anyone willing to attack his ship alone deserved a bit of respect.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 07, 2008 12:24 pm

"I fell there has been a misunderstanding. Had I realized the president of Chronos was still alive and on that ship, I would not have attacked the way I did. I have been alone for some time, and the Litany's files did not contain any record of your existence. All I ask of you is a pardon and to come aboard the Dauntless. I am now powering down all systems except life support. You may deal with me as you see fit." As he spoke, the lights in the cabin blinked out, and the normal humming of the fusion generators died away. Soon, the only sound was that of the CO2 scrubbers. Noryoku sat back in the captains chair and awaited his judgement.

Sek sighed, "lower the lift and pick up that ship... geez... thought I had taught people in my city not to assume so much..."
