Obsidian's gaze trailed after Emir as he danced with Grismara. Obsidian studied the girl a moment, admiring the lacywork of her clothing. But her eyes drifted to Emir, watching him.

As soon as the dance ended ((I'm time-skipping for Shrty, Hasu, you can take as much time as ou liketh)), Grisamara skittered away from Emir. He looked a little troubled, but then smoothed his face. He saw Obsidion and smiled his Romeo smile and walked over to her. "I didn't know such jewels were permitted at a party such as this- I would have dressed in a giant diamond and still been eclipsed by your glamour."

Obsidian was gracious her skin was dark as she blushed. "This jewel is here to guide her troubled prince to his own princess. Mother's been very adament that my brother finds his true love here."
She smiled none the less though.

"Your beother? You seem very informed; tell me what has brought about this ball? I didn't see our herd's invitation. They didn't seem to want me here," he chuckled but it didn't reach his eyes.

"Parents want their children to find mates to continue our bloodlines. Thus the ball was a part of that intent. I'm unfamiliar with the other two princes but my brother, Lance is one of the princes supposedly finding a bribe. Except my brother's a little bit of a loner."
She wrinkled her nose and peeked at his eyes, frowning a little.
"I hope you were not offended. I didn't make up the inventions nor sent them out."

"No, it was my herd who didn't want me to come. Maybe they thought I'd take the limelight off the other three princes," he chuckled grimy. "Anyway- to pleasanter things; would you care to dally with me on the dancefloor?"

She giggled and almost stopped herself. She hadn't giggled like this before...Ah well. It was a night of differences.
With a pleasant smile on her face, she bowed her head. "I don't see why you couldn't have come. Even those who are not the princes could find happiness here, I'm sure. And a dance would be delightful."

Emir swept her out onto the dancefloor. "I know this probably isn't the best time to talk," he said quietly. "But perhaps we would have a better conversation if I knew more about you."

"My father's the famous Opera Ghost of an old french opera house. My mother was one of his students and then his mate. I'm one of the oldest children. I enjoy my father's music and reading poetry at times. Occassionally a romance book if for amusement. What about you? Was the lovely young lady you danced with earlier apart of your herd?"
Her eyes were fixed on him, sparkling like rare emeralds.

"In the lacy skirt? That was Grisamara," said Emir. "She is part of my herd- little sister to that bloody pony over there," he said, pointing out Zanobi. "Me? I like... I like the rain. I like to practise fighting."

sunchaser9000 Aquilo smiled. "I'm single, for the moment. This whole ball thing will probably give my mother ideas." He sighed. "I'm a firm believer in true love finding a way. At least that's how it should be." He glanced down. "With the whole 'true love' thing, I think that this ball is perfect. One of these princes could find true love here. There is always that chance."
