Eulalia Danae Spritekin Myke, clearly not finished pitching a fit, came back into the bar holding another inmate up high above his own head by the throat and brings him down hard and fast through a bartable, breaking it into splinters...probably the inmates spine too. Now he was in the bar, looking for a fight and he could bet there were plenty of inmates willing to give it to him. ((Any wanna play an Inmate? =3 )) One of the inmates, a man with dark black hair and a tawny complexion dived at Myke. "Calm down, big dude, you're going to tear a whole in the ship if you aren't nice and carefull." Myke would grab hold of the poor b*****d and attempt to lift him up over his head and hurl him head first behind the counter into the wall dividing the Kitchen from the bar, in short giving his answer that he wasnt intending on calming down in the slightest.

Arch the Angel ((For the record: yes, Jarred could not erase every person who's ever seen her and him, but when it comes to the data, it would be hard to keep something from him. Even if it was offline, he could potentially find a way. Ultimately, he could keep local placed from having an accurate picture, or prevent the notice from getting to places like re-fueling stations. And then there's the matter of bribing folks. So not perfect, but you give him too little credit. He's a capable sum-b***h. Just try putting him in a holding cell on a big war-ship. Pen tried that. Pen lost her ship.)) ((*chuckle* I am perfectly well aware of this, as is Cookie. She is also avoiding mentioning certain things in front of Forde that are far more pertinent to the situation. It's not Cookie's concern if they try and run, anyhow; she's far more worried about getting the girl to listen to her.))

Cookie thought about the girl's response for a few minutes before saying anything. she thought calmly. damn bit.>
"They're not just your cookies, kiddo, and with our fun little friends stopping by it's going to be that much longer before they're done." Cookie had earned her name by being fast on the prep table, however, and was sliding the first tray into the oven even as she spoke. "This isn't a new oven, so we'll have to do it the old fashioned way and bake 'em. It'll be another quarter hour or so."

"The murderer is afraid to kill me." Haldis chuckled, carefree as a bird. Her smile turned into a bitter frown though as she heard the cookies would take so long to be finished. She laid down on the floor and stared at the kitchen ceiling.

"Not that fear ever stopped the determined," Cookie remarked. "You still got those marbles on you? I've got nothing to do for the next 15 but question Forde anyway, and he's keeping pretty quiet with that chicken and rice over there. Here, lemme wipe my hands..."

The inmate smiled, relaxing some and nodding his head. "Good fella, glad to see your cooling." He turned around from the big guy and started heading back to his seat.

Haldis nodded, "It's not easy to kill me though, Oralia learned the hard way." She frowned and shook her head. "Sorry, gave them to Gautrine when I took the card. It was a trade, it's wrong to steal after all, very very wrong."

((Oh, so everyone's guessed by now? I wasn't sure.))
"Aww." Cookie tried to grin, but the wrinkles made it look a bit grotesque, not being designed for that sort of thing. "Well, have you ever played Feudal? It's a little larger than the original, but I keep having to make new sets."

I think only a few didn't know yet...or just didn't tell me they knew.)) Haldis raised an eyebrow. "Nope, how do you play?"

Cookie opened the forbidden cabinet (which sealed itself as soon as she closed it, so no one get any ideas) and pulled out an ancient varnished box. Inside was a green-tinted game board divided into squares. There were a multitude of bright green squares in small clusters and a handful of squares scattered across the board with wavy green lines in them. "The green ones are mountains, no one can go through them or shoot over them, and the ones with lines are forests or meadows, your pick. Either way, nothing on a horse can go through those ones."
In the box underneath the board were six compartments filled with different colored pieces. Three were different shades of brown, two were dark and medium blue, and one was such a pale blue that it looked almost white. "These are the six armies, so you can have up to six players. It can be every man for himself, or done in pairs, and if it's three-on-three it's supposed to be the blues versus the browns. Not sure if those represent any armies in particular, most of them back then were either blue or brown. You can play with more than one army, too, but for your first game I think we'd better start with just one apiece, eh?"
"Pick a color?"

Cookie smiled and scooped out those pieces, dumping them on the girl's side of the board. "Be careful of your archer, though. The dog chewed on that one in our original set, so as a tradition I carve that one to be more delicate than the others. I'll be..."
It took her a moment to decide her color, as if she was puttingsome serious thought into it, but then she winked. "Chocolate brown, for all the sweets I wish those silly officers hadn't eaten." She scooped her own out and closed the box.
"All the pieces are different," Cookie continued, picking them up one by one. "There's the castle--it covers two squares when you put it down, do you see? The part with the three walls is the keep, and the open-sided part is the courtyard. One of the ways to win is to take the castle, to get one of your pieces into the other person's keep. That's a challenge, though! The castle's special rule is that you must stop in the courtyard before you enter the keep, even if it looks like you could go in diagonally. What makes it so difficult is that all the other person has to do is leave a piece in the keep, protected from most everything, to kill whoever steps in the courtyard. The best way is to leave the king or the archer there, because the king is like a chess king, absolutely useless if you're not right next to him. The archer, on the other hand, is the only piece that doesn't have to move to kill another piece. Many players like the fact that he can sit in the keep and shoot anyone who gets near the walls plus kill who'sever in the courtyard without moving and exposing himself to danger. If the archer is in the castle, the only way to take it is with another archer.
"The other way to win is to kill the king--yours is that little golden one, but the other armies just have a red cross on his shield--the prince, and the duke. So if the king isn't the one in the castle, it's easier to win the second way. Actually, the second way is just plain easier...
"All the horsemen--that's the prince with the lance, the duke with the sword--or is it the other was around? Doesn't matter, I forget--and the two knights with the battleaxes--can move any number of squares diagonally or horizontally. Those are the only guys who can't go through the wavy-line squares, and no one can go through a mountain. These are the pikemen--" she held up a little unarmored person holding a tall pronged stick-- "and if you play chess these are like the rooks. Horizonal movement only, a maximum of 12 squares per turn. The sergeants, these crouching guys with the axes, are your 'bishops' and work the same only diagonally. Then you have... let's see... the squire." Cookie winked. "The squire is often considered the most useless piece next to the king, despite the fact that his chess counterpart, the knight, is so useful. You see, he moves almost exactly like the knight. He must go one square diagonally and then one horizonally every time you move him. He's useful, but tricky to keep alive that long. And those are all the pieces. Anything I forgot to say?"
(( twisted Regreting this yet, my friend?))
