((As you wish, Goosey. I was being too forward. Maybe I could continue with Tonbo alone, leaving without Berai.))

(( Do that, and I'll have Berai caught. He'll escape, somehow, and become his own renegade s-ranked missing nin, and cause some more chaos, leaving Tonbo to himself ))

As the team approached the Hokage tower, Ran noted the heavy traffic around the area. All nin that could help were there, and there were several ANBU moving around and directing groups to where they needed to go. She paused behind Yuki and coughed lightly to herself as she listened to the conversation. The ANBU assigned them an area next to the Chuunin group they had lunch with, run by the Jounin Kae. They were right next to a wall area where there were several businesses and homes.

Kae watched as a few explosive experts approached Roque and began disarming the exploding tags. She spotted Yuki's team approaching just as an ANBU walked up to her and informed her of where her team was going to be to work on city evacuation. Right next to the gennin group. That worked out pretty well, since she was missing one of her team, and another of them seemed pretty shaken about the whole ordeal. They wouldn't feel out of place not working with the other chuunin teams.

When they had arrived at the tower, Yuki kept his clone separate, drawing half of the clone's staff away to make a shorter version of his usual bo. At the announcement of Team Iron working with Team Koi, Yuki knew that this would give his gening some real-time experience.

After pulling an ANBU aside, Yuki whispered to him, "So, is any force being mobilized to track the criminals?" Receiving a negative reply, Yuki couldn't help but feel that he should help with the search. However, his present duty was to assist and lead his team. After going to the area near Kae's team, they worked to repair the city and comfort the people. It seemed that the attack was subsiding, so whoever made the attack was probably in the process of fleeing. The tiring endless shift dragged on, the absent sun seeming to mock their efforts at night.

~~~~~~~~
After waiting for a few minutes, Tonbo knew that something must have kept Berai. Plan B. Blasting his way through the wall with a well-focused punch, he fled the confines of Konoha. It would still be a few hours before he exited the forests that separated the land of fire from other territories. With Berai gone, Tonbo subconciously allowed doubt to enter his mind. What have I done? Should I try to return and repent? Maybe I could act like nothing happened. I might possibly say that I was chasing the enemy. The only choices there would be to blame other natiosn, which would spark or at least further heat the impending conflict. I guess, I'll just continue with the plan for now. If he doesn't show up by the time I leave the land of fire, Plan C must be used. That'll certainly be... interesting. Continuing onward, he headed toward the vast ocean northeast of Konoha. With no opposition yet, he monotonously jumped from branch to branch.
Isaaku was actually almost happy now. They were being mobilized with a mostly chunin team. They were actually being expected to do something that could matter! Though, Isaaku had to admit that under the current circumstances, he really shouldn't be that glad. Then again, he could learn something if they came across a combat situation. He almost hoped they ran into the assailants.
"If they're smart, they'll've run by now. If not, then they must be way too cocky. Possibly, a spy amongst thieves?"
Batafurai remained silent. They were finally getting a mission, but she knew she would have to be completely serious with this one. No goofing off. This was important for the village. She worked quickly and used all her effort to help.
(( Gonna move a little faster in this one post, so it'll give people some more things to post on... Hope it's all okay with you guys.
Trying to include everyone in this, as well.))
Kae was grateful for working with Yuki's team. They worked efficiently throughout their areas, and another Chuunin team (Team Arrow) was working on the other side of Yuki's. She knew she should've had someone check around some of the already fallen buildings, but hadn't thought about it while they moved. A clone scanning through things while she stood atop a taller building, she noted of flash of something, but didn't dwell on it. After all, ANBU were out and about, searching for whoever did this to their city.
It looks... broken. Kae frowned to herself. She'd managed to be strong while she gathered her Chuunin, and as they worked on their areas, but now that things were slowing down a little, she couldn't help but dwell on it. The sun was starting to come up, and the dust from the broken mountainside monument was clearing up more and more. Everything was broken, and it was terrifying.
Wiping away a shed tear, Kae continued to scan around, while her clone helped nudge a stray dog out of the area. There wasn't very many people left over, mostly everyone having already gone to the shelters. That was good, at least. Less chance of anyone having gotten hurt. They seemed to be getting closer to the ends of their job, when a faint startled cry reached the Kunoichi's ears, and she quickly looked around for the source.
Berai had begun having a hard time of getting around when he encountered more shinobi. He lightly swore to himself as he rested his hand over a leg wound. It would be nothing once he got to the meeting point, but he knew he was quickly growing onto being late, and that would initiate that he would have to travel farther and faster to catch up with Tonbo. That wasn't a very pleasant idea for him. So he moved more stealthily in hopes to avoid more attention, and to at least get out of the city without more injury.
Reaching an area near a wall, and next to a gathering of trees, the Kokourei found difficulty. There were gennin and Chuunin, as well as a few Jounin surveying the area, as one or two others he'd found, and they were decently spread out. That meant it would be harder to get past. From where he found a hiding spot, he could see a Jounin standing atop a building. The shuffling of feet echoing off the empty buildings reached him, saying that there were also figures on the ground.
Looking around, Berai dashed to a more secure alleyway where one of the buildings along the end collapsed. He took a break for a moment, giving himself enough time to tie something around the gash in his leg. Although it hindered- if he didn't have to worry about bleeding to death, he could ignore the pain if needed. And he could move as fast as any Jounin. Looking out again, he moved to another alley, and then the next, and soon ran into a Gennin who was working her way along, looking into buildings, and softly calling out to see if anyone was there.
The Oto-nin held his breath, and then grinned. This girl, he recognized, was from Kirigakure. He'd met her once before, and moved carefully as he came up behind her and rested a Kunai against her throat. Out of alarm, Ran Kaguya gave out a bit of a cry, and Berai covered her mouth with his hand to silence her. "Sheesh, your loud." he grunted out with a sigh. He winced as she moved to elbow him in the gut, but it would only leave a minor bruise. "
Watch it, or I'll cut it." the Genjutsu master murmured, pressing the blade into her throat more. She stopped struggling. "Now, I'm going to remove my hand, and You'll do as I say, alright?" A nod. Sighing, Berai removed his hand. The Kaguya remained quiet, to his surprise, and he smiled as he turned her to face him. "It's been several years, hasn't it?" He asked, and examined the girl that became of the nine year old he'd met once before. He wasn't surprised that she glared up at him, though he was, a little, when she coughed a bit.
Ran stared at Berai with distaste, the memory of him like ink on a sheet of yellow paper. He hadn't been too much older then her when she first met him... maybe by four years. He'd shown her around Otogakure, two or three years before the Peace Treaty had been made, but the Mizukage and the Otokage had acceptance for each other. Showing a nine year old girl around town, and then showing her the remains of her older brother, who she'd been able to communicate with through letters...
That was a bitter memory she didn't appreciate thinking of.
And now, here he was again... injured and...
"You're the one who attacked the city." Ran murmured, and recieved a light laugh from the older male. "You, and who else?"
"Why should I tell you, little Kaguya?" Berai snorted. Okay, so it had REALLY been a while. The small shy and curious child he'd known grew up to be an actual ninja. Who would've known?
Ran gave another cough, the dust in the area working against her lungs. She needed to give some warning to her team-mates... her senpai... Or anyone on her side that was in the area. Maybe someone from the Chuunin team they worked with. She took a step back, and gave a weary frown to herself as Berai stepped forwards. Before she knew it, again he had her with a kunai to the throat. He seemed impatient and in a hurry as he shoved her ahead of him with the command to walk.
To onlookers which eventually included Kae, and after she went for them, her and Yuki's teams, would see the small form of Ran Kaguya being 'escorted' in the direction of the patch of trees and eventual city wall by the taller tanned Berai. Her life didn't seem in danger, save for the kunai to her throat. Looking around as they walked, Berai made sure they wouldn't have too much trouble on the way out.
A Kaguya would be useful if brought to his side. He'd have to get her away from there, though...
(( Also, a little more of those twos' history a bit. Since this is slightly farther into the future then my original idea for Ran, it's a little altered, but it's a basic of Ran's past, as well as Berai's. ))
((Sorry for the delay, Goosey.))
Yuki was busy helping with reconstruction when he just barely heard a yelp on the wind. It was so light, that he didn't think it anything more than creaking wood. Morning ws fast approaching, and a view of all the carnage and destruction caused by the assailants became perfectly clear. Awestruck by the amount of the city left in ruin, he was still. facing the former Hokage monument as the sun peaked above, he drained the extra chakra from his eys (which he had been using to see more efficiently while it was still dark). His clone kept on working, and Yuki soon continued. Horrible... As he surveyed the outer wall, he discovered a roughly human-sized hole in it. Suspicious. Could this have been the escape route? From the look of the hole's edges, he saw it was broken through with a melee attack, not a paper bomb.
Isaaku had given up his search for the assailants, or at least put it in the back of his mind. He was following Yuki-sensei mostly, but he was tunneling in the ground to pull rocks out to help support the buildings. It wasn't as taxing on his chakra to dig down and yank them out as calling them out was. He shoved one under a house and went to see what Yuki-sensei was doing. He was under-ground when Ran yelled, there was no way he'd've heard her. "Did you find something Sensei?"
((Sorry for being not here, I suck and will try to make it up under the condition that this is still running...))
Roque was still wearing his armour, despite the fact that the bombs had been disarmed and it slowed his chakra from coming back. He preferred to have it on in war time situations with a battle immanent. He would definitely smell bad after taking it off though.
He busied himself by moving large chunks of rubble from the roads and streets, keeping close to Kae as he did so. Kiesel was in her lioness form, keeping on alert for anything strange. The large creature sniffed the air and piqued her ears every once in a while, but nothing seemed to perturb her more than Roque moving large portions of wall unceremoniously from one spot to another.
"I swear, if it weren't for this seal that keeps us together, I'd be several kilometers away enjoying the piece and quite." Kiesel growled, looking at Roque with squinted eyes through her dark granny glasses.
"And even without this seal, I'd follow you 'cause your just so darned cute!" Roque tossed a chimney onto an every mounting pile of debris before turning around to face his chakra bound companion. "And anot-" Roque twisted to look to his right. It was a pointless motion since his eyes were covered in black armour. He could feel somebody through the ground, another set of foot steps. They were light and careful, but they were there.
"Roque, I heard the sickly girl from over there. Her and somebody I don't know." Kiesel said, following Roques' gaze.
"Yeah, and they're stepping really lightly. Either its' a person who weighs less than you as a kitten, or somebody is trying to be sneaky." Roque jumped up to the building where Kae was watching from. "Sensei, I felt somebody on the ground walking away with the Kaguya girl. Kiesel doesn't recognize their voice, what do you think?"
