He liked being this close? This close? Relm released a fluttering sigh, her hands slipping up towards his shoulders. Her legs felt weak, like jello. She would topple if she was not steadier soon. And... she was lifting to the balls of her feet a little more. Not so much it would jar Elijah's hands but enough that her nose reached his. "Lijah..."
Why people turn their heads to kiss... Relm idly reminded herself as her own head tilted. She did not get any closer though... if he kissed her it would be her first kiss. Relm was brash but not that brash. Instead she lightly brushed his nose with hers in little 'Eskimo kisses' with the barest shifts of her head. "Me too." She breathed the confession close to his lips, her breath upon them. She could barely see through her eyelashes, and that was all the more her eyes were open. Her entire slight body was lightly shaking.

Elijah tilted his head to the side after feeling their noses touch. This is really happening. It's really going to happen...' Relm wanted it too. She'd be fine with it. The only thing that might make him think differently about her answer was her light shaking, but he figured she was probably just a little nervous which seemed normal. "Relm..." He murmured. He leaned down a little more so it would be a bit easier for Relm.
The distance was closed between the two as he pressed his lips against hers. His eyes slowly shut. The kiss was a gentle one, not too rough. He guessed he didn't think it was right to have a first kiss between two people to be too crazy unless... one thing led to another, which he doubted right now. However, he did want to pull her closer. It felt so good, being like this. Her lips... Even though he had denied it to himself a few times he had wondered what it would be like to feel them like this. Everything just felt so right now that this was happening...

The brief thoughts of whether her lips were dry or how her breath might be faded to nothingness the moment their mouths touched, her eyes closing. Relm sighed softly at the gentle touch, rising a bit more and sliding her hands to touch the back of his neck. So warm... it was the only thought that filtered through the bliss and surprise that Elijah actually wanted to kiss her -that this was actually happening. She needed the extra support, leaning her body closer to his and holding tight but gentle. It had not occurred to her that something could feel so wonderfully nice. Why should a simple thing as his lips to hers feel so good? 'Lijah....
Though it was not something she wanted after a while Relm slowly withdrew from the kiss. Her heart was pounding and she was still in bliss but still afraid. Without opening her eyes Relm's cheek moved along the dog-anthro's. A warm brush of skin contact and then the artist was tucking her head into his neck. Her arms encircled around Elijah, holding her to him. It was hard to say if she was more afraid to let him go or to be with him. Is this... normal? I've wanted so much to be normal with you, Elijah... so much. But... you make me feel so weak... and I don't mind. I could stay right here...
This isn't what I expected... when I asked... that of you, Musician. I'd no idea... you might want me. Did I miss the signs? Was I ... was I somehow blind? Relm nuzzled his neck softly, breathing in out softly. Her eyes were still closed but she could feel the ends of his hair as they tickled her forehead.
She could not bring herself to speak. Elijah... is it normal... to want to kiss you... again? Somehow her eyelashes fluttered against his skin without her eyes opening.

The feeling of her lips on his still lingered even after the shared contact had ended. It had happened. It really had happened. She was still there too. Relm, in his arms with her face on his neck, was still there. So, the feelings here must have been mutual? How could he have missed it? For some reason he had felt so sure it was just him.
Maybe if he had just paid a little more attention...
He just stood there for a while, just holding her and enjoying the moment. One of his hands had roamed up at one point and started to run threw her hair as he thought about what to do next when they did have to move on. He couldn't find any words either even though he felt like he had so much to say. The feeling of being this close just made him feel so happy, and he didn't want to ruin that but...
"Relm.... Uhm... I..." He started, but stopped. What he was going to say exactly he wasn't sure. His thoughts were so jumbled up.

oh sweet Espers! Relm almost had to choke back a soft sob of happiness at the feel of his hand in her hair. It sent tingles through her scalp as the movement registered to the nerves there. She felt there was no where else she would rather be. Ever.
Then his voice... and for some reason an irrational fear shot through her. Relm in her insecurity of failing at 'normal' jumped to the wrong conclusion. Her face turned to look at him almost too quickly lifting from his shoulder, the fear apparent in her green eyes. He doesn't... like me. Not like that. Must have been ... a side effect of having been asked that. A rush of guy hormones.
Visibly Relm started to steel herself off inside, to protect herself, her heart. "No. It's... okay. I understand. It's okay. Caught in the moment. It's okay. I shouldn't have asked you... something like that, Musician." Her attempt at a fake reassuring smile was well off its mark for it shook with her sadness and aching as Relm tried to distance herself from him without moving.
Her eyes fell to his lips and she trembled, recalling, remembering. She still... wanted to kiss him again. Fool, She chastised herself. Let go of him. Back away. What'd you expect, playing with a guy's nature like that?
“I... failed. I wanted to see if I could be normal. Just a normal girl.” Her head lifted, lips trembling and nearing his as if pulled by a magnetic connection. A pull fought by the small girl as she stood shaking softly, unable and unwilling to let go though not holding him so much he could not get away should he wish. “But a normal girl wouldn’t’ve asked what I did of you, would she? No matter how I may try and even succeed for a while I just can’t act it for long, can I! I can’t be normal!!”
And she wanted to be normal... normal for him somehow. Maybe the kind of girl... he would like to hold and kiss without having been asked to hold her. It was backfiring on her -and she had shown her hand. She had acknowledged her own cards... and Relm knew now she liked Elijah beyond just friends. And she did not want to lose him but feared now -even still in his arms- that she had.
So much so... that for the first time since she could remember, Relm was near tears. Real tears. Not tears that were part of some act.

Normal...? What was with all this normal talk? Saying Elijah was just a little confused would be an understatement. What had he done? Did he mess up? Did he react in a way that made her feel like that? Oh he knew he shouldn't have! He just couldn't help it.
He really, really, REALLY, liked her...
"Why are you saying? Course you didn't do anything wrong..." He frowned and moved his hand that had been running through her hair to her cheek to try to wipe some tears away with his thumb. His other arm continued to hold onto the other. It was loose enough to let her go if she really wished, but he still held her tight enough that he could let her know that he didn't want to at all. In fact, he was afraid she would run from him right now.
"What's with this normal talk now? When did I ever let you on I was so big on normal? That's far from the truth. What is normal anyway?" He smiled a little and moved his face closer to hers again. "You don't need to act. I want you to just be you, okay? Whether you are just a normal painter or someone with super natural paint powers I don't care. It's all the same to me. You're still Relm. And... I really, really like everything about you.... I was trying to say that before... “His forehead rest on her for a moment with his green eyes locked right on hers.”I didn't just do what I did because of the situation. I did it because it's something I wanted to do. I've been wanting it... And I'd be happy to do it again...." His voice trailed off as he went in for another kiss.

((aww... Elijah's so sweet... *scraps and reworks pre-attempted & saved posts for possible use later since eventually she'll still tell him that* He didn't get upset at all! ^_^))
Espers, Elijah... the thought was barely a murmur in her mind as Relm leaned the slightest bit into his hand upon her cheek. Eyes open widened slightly in surprise to see the moisture that moved to his fingers. I'm... crying? She could feel the warmth and strength of his arm around her and though it was not a thought Elijah was justified in fearing she might try to run. Just that someone had seen her tears was enough for that, but feeling how he was not letting her go seemed to reign her in.
Only her eyes moved now, snapping up to be locked in his green gaze as the weight of his words buffeted her from all sides. He really, really liked her? Everything? Kissing... was something he wanted to do, and he'd been wanting...? Relm was reaching, rising off her heels once more and holding onto the dog-anthro for support. Everything seemed aglow in the red light of her ruby gem. Her left arm circled his neck, the hand flat upon the back of his shoulder and holding tight; the right bending at the elbow was alongside his head with her fingers through his hair and gently moving upon his scalp. Only his name slipped from her lips with a mixture of fear, relief & tenderness before they met his. Eyes that had been slowly closing, shut. This... would truly be their kiss.
She had jumped to the wrong conclusion... but for once Relm was glad to have been wrong. Her act... her veil to hold her feelings back from both herself and Elijah started to flutter away as the knowledgeable novice kissed Elijah lightly but with the sweet passion of her withheld emotions for him.
Later, she would try to explain. Relm would feel better knowing .... knowing that he knew how she had been around him. Was around him. She did not want to leave Elijah wondering that maybe this was an act -for it was not. Of anything... it was probably the most natural thing she had ever done. And it was wonderful.

(( It's hard to get him mad, especially with people he likes a lot. <3 He might wonder about the acting thing a tiny bit later though. He might be confused by what she meant by it... It can be a tiny bit suspicious like Relm seems to say in your post. ))
Elijah's arm moved down to hold Relm to him like his other arm once more as he continued to kiss the carbuncle. His green eyes continued to look directly back at hers until they were completely shut.
She wasn't running. That must mean she understand, right? Understood how he really, truly, felt? He hoped so. It sure felt like she felt the same too. If only things could stay like this forever. The anthro dog couldn't remember a time where he had been this happy. Nothing mattered right now except Relm. There may have been one thing that she said that might make Elijah concerned later, but it blew out of Elijah mind for now. What could possibly be wrong now? Being together like this was all that he needed. He just hoped Relm wasn't worried about what she had been worried about before. He didn't want her to be upset... Just wanted her to be happy.

She could keep kissing him. Somehow Relm knew that. Unlike some first time kissers she had the knowledge to breathe through her nose, even sighing happily as she shifted her lips upon his slightly and her fingers ran through his hair. It could be called book-smarts, though very little was learned through books. The end results were the same: that though Relm had the knowledge and even know-how she had no experience. Never before had she been interested beyond just knowing in doing such things herself.
Now... she never wanted to stop.
No reason to yet. Besides... she had stopped the last one. Unless she forgot to breathe and needed to, Relm was quite more than content to leave the length of their kiss up to the musician.

Elijah had no difficulties or intention to stop anytime soon either unless Relm wanted to for some reason, like say, breath, but he soon realized the carbuncle knew the trick to it. That was one trick he learned from experience. Yes, he had kissed in the past, but this kiss seemed so different in a way. Like, there was more importance and meaning in it.
His arms around Relm instinctively tried to bring her just a little bit closer to him. The longer this kiss went on the more and more lost in it he felt. To be able to taste her lips, to be able to kiss this long, to be able to be completely honest about how he felt; it was intoxicating for him to be able to be like this with Relm.
Now if this could all never end...
But of course they would have to stop. Nothing lasts forever, not even something as amazing as a kiss. Hesitantly, Elijah withdrew away his lips from Relm's and opened his eyes. For a moment he just stared at Relm before he finally said something. "Were going to have to do that again.... Again as in soon."

There was only the two of them, and how he made her feel. And then... it was over and Relm realized how she had been pulled into another world unlike anything she had ever known. All those times she had spied... maybe she was not as good at hiding as she thought. Not if everyone felt anything like this. Like the whole world could go away.
She stood there, breathing in his scent and holding onto him without opening her eyes. Truthfully... she was afraid to. It scared her still, how he made her feel. How she had no control. How despite all that... she never wanted the feeling to go away. At the sound of Elijah's voice though her eyes opened slowly and she looked up to meet his eyes. "Have to...?" She said with a shaky and lopsided smile though it was meant as a tease. Even though she could not pull off picking on him as she might, it did not stop Relm's happiness from peeking though by lighting in her eyes and tugging the corners of her mouth. There was also a look in her eyes that sparkled as if to say that neither again or soon could be too soon for her.
Behind his head her hand slipped through Elijah's hair, loosening her hold on him slightly to pet the dog's ear peeking out. If possible, the artist's grin got a little sillier... and more than a bit dreamy.

Elijah figured what he said might of sounded a bit forceful soon after saying it. "I.. I mean... If you want to because... I'd like to... Very much" He said. He smiled and felt his canine ears relax under her touch. Elijah felt he could die from happiness right now. Things were even better now. Relm was smiling again. She was happy. He had been worried about her being unhappy, so this came as a relief to Elijah. He let Relm go just a little too so he could look at her better. It was nice to see her smile. "Cause you know... I meant everything I said before...."

Red heat swiftly colored her cheeks. Maybe now was not the best time for teasing... but it came so naturally to the pictomancer. Picking on others. But... she did not want Elijah to think that she might not... which was totally untrue! Besides she hadn't found it pushy. More like... really, really cute. Really, really, really cute. Very endearing.
Her smile softened and warmed, losing some of the previous trembling as she rubbed his ear gently between her fingers. Much softer than she ever had done to Interceptor's ears. This was completely different. She felt ... so much. Just touching his ears like this sent happy little sensations up her fingers and through her hands and arms. The way it relaxed beneath her fingers, the way Elijah smiled... Relm knew he was happy. Knowing that... made her feel very wonderfully warm inside. I want to... and I believe you. Relm tenderly fondled the ear beneath her fingers, not quite certain how to voice her thoughts which were really closer to feelings than something put to words. I'd give you forever, if needed, for you to convince me that I KNOW... Or things she was not ready to admit yet. This... was already so big a step already, and there were more left to take. Just tonight, if she was able. Instead, Relm smiled in a light yet awkward way that was intended to show how glad she was that Elijah would even say what he had, that it moved her both that he had said it and even more that he brought it up again -reminding her. Awkward, because the mouthy little actress was disappointed in herself because she could not find means to voice herself. Also, between smile, shimmering eyes & the glow of her gem to allude that she wanted to be with him to kiss & to hold, & how she hoped to tell him & show him in time.
Softly she went up on her toes and lightly kissed Elijah's lips before sinking -quite wobbly- back to her feet. "Can we... can we sit down, Musician?" The blush that had started to fade returned in force as Relm felt actually embarrassed. It was such a rare feeling for her. "My legs won't listen." She explained, feeling it was rather lame. Despite it being true. Relm was afraid if they remained like this much longer her legs would go through with their threat and buckle beneath her.
She really did not want to leave though. Certainly not yet. Her quick mind worked behind her haze of happiness for a suitable answer and found it in the memory of a painting she had done here. "There's... a kids' merry-go-round, just ahead. Around those trees to the right -your left."
'Let's not leave yet...' hopeful green eyes seemed to say, searching his face.

(( Awwww. <33 ))
The way she was touching his ears, made the anthro dog daze off for a moment. It just felt very relaxing even though he could not explain why. Maybe because it was Relm who was rubbing his ears. Not as much as the previous two kisses, but Elijah was starting to get lost in bliss from the sensation. Her lips on his own woke him up from this daze in a very pleasant way. His head lean forward just slightly as she pulled away since he himself wanted more. How many times was it now that they had kissed? Three times, right? Wow, did he feel pretty lucky right now. "Mm..? Merry-go-round?" He murmured as her words clicked together in his mind. The dazing off hadn't warned off completely.
"Oh! Sure! That'd be good..." He glanced over to the left as if he would see it. Kid’s merry-go-round? He hadn't seen one of those in a long time. Elijah looked back at Relm and frowned slightly. She had mentioned something about her legs. Did he miss something stupidly again? He better have not. He would drive himself crazy if he kept missing these things like an idiot. "Your legs? Are you alright? I'll carry you there if you want..."

Espers... Her eyes barely opened in time but Relm had felt Elijah leaning in just the slightest bit for more even before she saw it with her eyes. It only added to her light-headedness ... and her happiness. It spread through her like a thrill, tossing her insides into full flutter mode all over again. Elijah really wanted to kiss her more. oh sweet Espers. The reassurance was at the same time bittersweet... for it brought guilt to Relm that she had drawn away from him so soon, missing the chance for his return kiss. Of course the reason why she had only kissed him as lightly as she had dared on being asked upon brought up an almost natural defensiveness that was mostly pride and stubbornness even as Relm was more than half melting inside seeing the musician so dazed. She stiffened a little, her heart sinking and hand stilling at Elijah's faint frown. What?
"Look -you're making 'em jelly, okay?" Hints of frustration at weakness and confessing hardened her tone which was otherwise stiff with embarrassment. Light brown curls shifted as Relm turned her face away in shame. It was not Elijah she was upset with. It was herself. That she practically snapped at him when she should not even be upset at all because he had her feeling so good but she simply could not come to terms with it all yet. That... and she did not particularly like pointing out her weaknesses yet she knew she intended to tell him that and more. Sooner rather than later. Good as this was... the little actress wanted no chance to continue with the possibility of it being on an act.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Just..." Oh Espers... Relm could feel her face heat like a furnace and knew it had to be crimson. "I won't be able to stand let alone walk with even another light kiss so I'd rather not hedge my bets, if you catch my drift." Blushing much too much to be comfortable with it the pictomancer continued to look at a spot on Elijah's sleeve so she would not make eye contact. A chance for Elijah to carry her again? Even if there would be chances for more opportunities Relm was not sure she should let this one by. When she next spoke it was hushed, and both embarrassed and a little longing. "One more kiss... and you'll have to."
Relm no longer denied to herself that she wanted to kiss her friend. Here. There. Both. It did not matter. As long as Elijah understood why she was holding back... or that if he wanted another kiss now what that would mean. Pride probably played a part in stopping her so that she would not crumple where she stood, unable to walk for herself.
