Laps: 17/20

The lap running was still painful, but she was getting the hang of this assignment now. After all, there were only three more laps to go - she would have to hang in there. And as fervently as she could wish, there is no miracle for improving physical stamina. Sweat and hard work - it was the same for all shinobis. The thought burning in her mind, Elruda began running a bit faster. The trick to overcoming physical stamina exercises was to not yield to the overwhelming, exhausting work. For only then would the assignments prove to be fruitful.

Laps: 18/20

Closer. She was getting closer and closer to her goal. Having finished her seventeenth lap, Elruda stopped for a whole minute, wiping a bead of sweat away with the back of her hand. Her index and middle finger rubbed at her temples. How late was it now...? No, it didn't matter. Time did not matter. All that mattered was her training. Eyes determined, she set off for her eighteenth lap. When she is done, there would be two more left. She was close to her goal but not quite there yet. And until then, she cannot rest...she cannot afford to be lax.

Laps: 19/20

Her nineteenth lap. This was her nineteenth lap. Elruda couldn't quite believe it, after this, only one more remained. But she was so...tired... Her limbs held a certain heaviness...it was hard simply just to walk. The temptation to sit was so great... Taking a deep breath, Elruda trudged forward a few steps, before breaking off into a run. She was so close to finishing...she cannot give up now. No matter how painful...she'll have to endure it, will have to fight it, will have to make through it and persevere. She barely noticed the distractions around her now - only keeping the assignment within her mind.

Laps: 20/20

At long last, the last lap of this exercise. Unable to take it any longer, the Hyuuga heiress dropped to the ground. Her body hurt everywhere...she was surprised she even got this far. Additionally, though she was tired, it was her rapidly beating heart that was keeping her from falling asleep. After five minutes, when she felt a bit better, Elruda pushed herself off the ground and began with a slow jog. The Fujiko estate...seemed so large...unending... Tree after tree...endless damp grass... But eventually, the seemingly infinite would yield. And she had done it. Finished with her assignment.

((Yeah... I made sure they are all 5 lines and above... ~_~' Hm...I'm not sure how many times to do meditation. >.<'))

Exhausted, Elruda decided to get started on her meditation lesson. She dropped to the ground, into the traditional lotus position, and shut her pale eyes. The Hyuuga heiress was tired...no, tired was an understatement. Every bone in her body felt fatigued... But she did her best to keep a blank, nearly doll-like expression on her face. She welcomed the darknes... And then, she did her best to shut out all the distractions around her - the breathless wind, the rustling leaves, even the soft grass tickling against her skin.

Reading (Anatomy): 1/10

Chakra: 33/36

Elruda slowly cracked open one eye. She had done it on her first attempt...and managed to shut out everything around her. Now, it was time to get to up, go to the temple library, and finish up some reading. Wrath had ordered her to read up on Tactics and Anatomy, but he didn't specify which one to start first. Tiredly, she pushed herself up, forming the seals for the Byakugan. Veins crept around her eyes due to the sudden flow of chakra. The walls of the temple fell transparent under her gaze and she fairly easily located the library.

---

Once in the library, Elruda searched hard for a good resource book on the human body. That wasn't too hard to find...and she picked up one about pressure points and tenketsu nodes, along with additional references on the human chakra circulatory system. Elruda blinked twice, dazed at how many tenketsu nodes were labeled. Dang... Did the medic-nins seriously have to memorize this? For perhaps the first time in her life, Elruda felt truly appreciative of the Byakugan. What she took for granted others obtained through hard work and study. And sometimes, as great as their anatomy knowledge would be, based on height and body density, strikes may be a bit off...

Reading (Anatomy): 2/10

Chakra: 34/36

Elruda continued reading, fascinated with the book. The section she was looking at showed the tenketsu points in the fingers, which an experienced puppet master connect to his/her puppets and manipulate their mobility. And she was also surprised to learn that not all clans could release chakra from anywhere on their body like the Hyuugas. Which was why their Kaiten could not be copied, even by the Uchihas... Smiling a bit, she flipped to the index. There would be a section on the Hachimon coming up...chakra types and enhancements...as well as commonly targeted pressure points.

Reading (Anatomy): 3/10

Chakra: 35/36

Curious, Elruda wondered to herself if she would be able to self teach herself Kaiten... Recreating would be a difficult task without an elder around to help her... And she wasn't even sure if she had enough chakra for that technique yet. Hm...maybe she could just do some normal Juuken training later, and then concentrate on chakra exercises. Flipping through the pages, Elruda learned that there were difficult coloured chakras to represent different techniques in use. Chakra in its pure form was a light blue...the Kyuubi's chakra was recorded as red...the visible chakra of the Shosen was green...and that of the legendary Chidori was electric blue... The chakra belonging to the Hatakes were white... Peering closely, Elruda labeled in her mind the chakra nodes in the central pool, which Wrath taught her to attack.

Reading (Anatomy): 4/10

The interesting thing about this encyclopedia was that when she flipped over the next page, a clear page with some labelings, over the diagram of the human body, it completed a chart of where the eight Hachimon gates were. Elruda wondered briefly...if there was perhaps someway to direct Hakke Rokujuuyonshou at only those eight main points. If Hachimon was released in such a manner...what would closing those eight nodes do...? Especially the tenketsu node of the last gate - which is located at the heart. If Rokujuuyonshou was used in time...was there perhaps a possible way to decrease the damage caused by Hachimon to the user...? Perhaps...a way to save those whom opened too many gates if the sudden chakra flow could be manipulated...

Reading (Anatomy): 5/10

Next, Elruda had taken to memorizing the exact locations of the Hachimon gates. Heh...if she completes Juuken early, perhaps she'll get a chance to learn Goken. Briefly, she wondered in her mind what another Hyuuga would think... And then she laughed aloud, chuckling to herself... It was a rather strange thought, a Hyuuga smashing things into pieces....totally unlike members of the clan. But then, she was pretty weird. Smiling to herself, Elruda noted that the opening and gate of rest were both located in the head. Hm...maybe learning Goken won't be so impossible... Well, for Hachimon at least. The Hyuugas are supposed to have good chakra control...

Reading (Anatomy): 6/10

Elruda noted a picture of the third gate opening with a curious eye... That chakra node...it was so close to the lungs. And then when she looked closely at the picture, the user's skin was red. Her eyes briefly scanned over what the reference book said:

The Gate of Life is located on the spinal cord, and releases the limit on the nervous system, which makes information travel at a faster rate and creates even more stamina. As a side effect, the user's skin turns red, indicating an increased blood-oxygen level.

She shook her head. Wasn't it dangerous messing with the spinal chord? But then again, Hachimon was supposed to be a kinjutsu technique. She only wondered why the hell was it so widely taught... It's either the teachers overly confide in their students...because sometimes, when driven to desperation, a stubborn shinobi would ignore the most harmful damage to their body in the drive to protect their comrades. Thank goodness that the Hyuuga's techniques don't destroy their own bodies...

Reading (Anatomy): 7/10

The next two gates, wound and limit were also located on the spinal chord. Elruda...she wasn't really all for a technique that would destroy her muscles. Damn... She thought. You gotta be a pretty good medic-nin if constantly using the Hachimon... Her right eye twitched as she eyed a single sentence in the reference book about the gate of wound:

...usage will begin to tear the body's muscles.

Why the hell would anyone want to learn that? Especially since that technique would create too much oxygen for the body to use... It sounds painful, just reading... And then she imagined the famous Rock Lee, whom was so fervent in defeating his genius Hyuuga teammate. A small smile creaked across her lips. Sometimes, maybe there would be a reason.

Hardwork. Dedication. Goken challenges both on a different aspect than that of the Juuken Kempo.

Reading (Anatomy): 8/10

Elruda continued reading, noticing the next gate, the gate of view, is located directly in the center of the central chakra pool. However, the power granted made Elruda wonder if...the sacrifice of so much Hp is worth it. If this technique is being used as a last resort, the protecting Goken user would be dead before it is executed fully. And the next gate... So close to the gate of death, but would not kill. Instead, it demands something further grave. To live with the knowledge that one could never be a shinobi again... What a depressing technique...

Reading (Anatomy): 9/10

Obviously, users whom opened the gate of death have been recorded. A technique that causes injury too far to heal huh... The power of a kage, for a few seconds...before fading away to a most pitiful death. Shaking her head, Elruda continued on to the section on pressure points. The topic that was being explained was acupuncture, its history, and how Kiri hunter-nin would use acupuncture to their fullest advantage. Elruda noted that certain points on the body could cause instant paralysis, coma, or even death, when struck from a certain angle, and with certain force.
