Hey, Iden didn't even have his guns. He didn't look much harmful at all. Those gloves WERE pretty large, though. Ran all the way to his elbow, and had a fair bit of bulk.

That aside, Iden shrugged as he was initially addressed. His stride remained unbroken as he made for the counter. Lightly, he planted his hand on the counter, and vaulted it with ease.

Booze.

It was a simple enough reply. Nonchalantly spoken, as the fingers passed along the shelf, seeking a bottle.

You?

If by two or three decades you mean new. Just 'cus I can't keep it down doesn't stop me. Old habits die hard.

Cool and cocky was probably two of the best words to define Iden. Suffice to say, he seemed more bothered in his selection of whiskey than in Az. It wasn't until the bottle had been taken, that the youngest DeSeer turned and offered his smirk.

No, I don't breathe out of habit anymore. Stopped eating after week two. I gotta keep SOMETHING to occupy myself with.

Iden still didn't know much to make of Az. Was he the down to earth nonchalant type, or was he just playing right now? The verbal foreplay was leaving the younger DeSeer without any basis to measure up his elder brother.

So, just as before, he vaulted the counter, and came to rest with his back leaned against it.

Smoking...cool. I never understood that one. Smelling bad is cool? No offense, mate, but those things reek.

Keeping himself collected, Iden shrugged off the question for the moment. Instead, there was the soft clinking of breaking glass. The neck of the bottle, which had been sheared off between Iden's forefinger and thumb, fell to the ground. Idly, he brought the whiskey to his lips and took a swig. Then, and only then, did he give an answer.

You're one to talk. Iunno why she picked me, but I'm not gonna argue.

Iden's right brow hiked skywards. Most people would take offense to being smoked on. He, for one, just didn't care. It came with not having to smell the stuff.

I always preferred a good horror.

The azure gaze did not falter, even as Iden took another swig. It was almost like a standoff. Both gauging the other. Iden remained perfectly nonchalant in his reply, which kept thingsas they were.

I was hired to drag her SECOND youngest off to die. This led to that. The suck started there. Been slowly getting better since. What about you? Let's not make this just a one way interrogation here.

How many of us DID ask for it?

With a slight shrug, Iden maintained the standoff with his expressed lack of tension. One could feel the two almost at each other's proverbial throats, but for now they were civil.

Thank God for small miracles. Iden paused, the bottle just at his lips. His expression was not easily read, though the pause came from the mention of the other sibling.

Yoachi.

There was no further elaboration. Iden neither felt up to it, nor felt it necessary. After all, he still bore a great stain of guilt for what he had done to the boy.

And as you've not been present since my joining up to prove yourself as part of the chain of command, I'd like you to stuff your order up your a**, and consider asking like a civil person.

There was no pause between the "order" and the prompt reply. Iden just seamlessly offered his rebuttal, then tilted the bottle back for another hearty swig.

Soft? Nah. Not her. She ain't going soft. She's going apeshit INSANE. ******** you, I'm technically still dead. DEAD dead. So consider me on vacation....SIR.

If Az was going to pull rank, Iden was going to ignore it. It was a simple formula. Besides which, Iden technically WAS still dead, so far as the world was concerned.

To that end, the sarcasm was met and countered with silence, and another dose of the fire waters.
